ends the last video halfway through reckoning..next video, new mission . welp, tbf reckoning is very boring . kill some rocks, win, celestial kerri flies off into the actual sunset
I guess there was nothing else new to show us there. Just more zerg without zergls
Isn't reckoning the HotS finale?
@@runtergerutscht4401 It is. The one with the rocks is Amon's Fall
@@runtergerutscht4401 It's the epilogue finale after Legacy of the Void.
You can just click on the unedited VoD to get the rest of Amon's Fall... only for the VoD to also end abruptly mid-mission during Harvest of Screams...
The busted, free infinite spider mines refill is actually balanced by the constant "Alright, bring it on..."
"The Tall and the Short Darim" really got me
Oh, I did not understand what they said before your comment; thank you! (nj)
1:20:14 "Who's your mommy?" Damn, I didn't know Valkyries were BAD like this.
THANKS YOU! I thought I was the only one who heard it
Building on creep, for Terrans and then for Protoss, should be an upgrade from the Archipelago!
Some of the units at the end of an archipelago run are absolutely insane. Lings, Marines, Reapers, Banshees, Liberators... I love me some overpowered giga-forces shitting on enemies. Many campaign mods focus on making things harder but honestly, that feels more and more like a job playing them. While this stuff is really just fun for fun's sake.
What I really love is how it manages to keep the mod interesting. You start with an insane limit on the units you can make, which puts very cool twists on how you have to approach missions, but eventually, it would've just come back to a normal campaign as you unlock the same units and upgrades - if it wasn't for these insane upgrades. You come to this mod for limitations and suspense of what you're unlocking next, you stay for overpowered fun.
@@antongrigoryev6381 After 15 missions of Zerg missions using only zerglings, you bet I'm gonna have fun using my zergling-speed zergling thrower(very fast broodlord).
This is true of the relatively 'default' experience, but the Archipelago randomizer system (and by extension, the Starcraft world itself) offers a ton of customization options. If you'd like, you can exclude units, make more or less upgrades available, pick and choose which tiers of mission objectives you'd like to enable, etc. You can even force specific locations (objectives) to have nothing relevant (progression), or even guarantee that your critical unit is on a specific location. The sky is the limit if you wish to dive deeper into it. The default experience is a ton of fun, but there is a deep challenge available to those who are willing to learn how to do it.
I got Tal Derim Voidrays and one of their upgrades and... Yeah, any protoss mission suddenly turned easy mode. You hit critical mass spreadrays and everything you target, along with everything around it, melt in a second.
@@Odinfrost Imagine if Grant had that luck and unlocked Destroyers first along with the upgrades.
He'd probably say that the game was telling him Destroyers are good 😅
I hope you will see this.
Age of Mythology: Retold has now appropriately renamed Petsuchos to Petsobek!!! My headcanon is that it's because of you :D
lol Talis knowing about the Amon stones, I never thought of it like that but that makes that line infinitely funnier
Damn that ghosts in the fog was won by a hair
The Scout is like a Apple Product. You get way less for the same price, but then you get to claim you're better than everyone else because you use one! :V
Doing the last mission with mass Reavers has to be the best way to end this archipelago randomizer run.
1:00:29 That has to be one of the closest victories Grant has ever had. Doing Ghost in the Fog with just Tal'darim units is really cool for a Tal'darim vs Tal'darim fight. But man was that down to the wire in how close that victory was. Grant won mere moments before his last building was destroyed.
Some of the most ridiculous terran unlocks in Archipelago aren't for any individual units, they're for the Terran Command Centre
I'm disappointed that even with Twitch Chat voting to go almost-literally everywhere on the board, Grant never found the most ridiculous one.
Two tiers of Orbital Command.
First one behaving like the regular Wings of Liberty Upgrade. giving you access to MULE and Orbital Scan.
Second tier gives MULE and Orbital Scan to the Planetary Fortress.
There's an upgrade letting Planetary Fortress attack air units.
Finally, there's Planetary Fortress Augmented Thrusters. It gives the planetary fortress the ability to lift off like a regular command centre, This is very fair and balanced.
Except it's also a two-tiered ability, the second tier gives the Planetary the ability to ATTACK WHILST LIFTED!
THIS IS AS RIDICULOUS AS IT SOUNDS!

An archipelago speedrun would be really cool!
It has a race mode that rolls the same seed multiple times for teams to play against each other
Also there is "plando" (planned rando) support so can make it semi curated
This truly was a Wings of Banshee, Heart of upgrates for not unlocked units and Legacy of Mech adventure
Hallucinating a friend?
Every time i do that i get called names.
did the footage from the rest of amon's fall get lost? it ended part way into the mission
Well i guess the queens just broodin all the rocks and won easily though
@@huynhphucm445 it's present in the uncut vod, and it was very funny.
and then it cut through half of the next mission, lol
@@GerMorden yea when we see those rocks were not labeled "structures", its fate is already sealed lol
i think that some missions have the HOTS 25% extra damage thing since they use the "hots" campaign as a base despite random missions.
Never done the math but it feels like that, makes some no build missions way harder.
like wise if a zerg mission is listed on any other campaign they would take less damage.
Was thinking maybe swarm or void dependencies change the AI, compared to liberty, since the redid a lot of the AI triggers. But the infamous 25% modifyer could also be happening.
The 25% damage modifier should still be there only on HotS on brutal. AP is implemented as an independent mod that only defines the player-controlled units/upgrades. Enemy factions and AI still use the map's appropriate base game mod dependency. So you can notice things like the hybrid on In Utter Darkness are still non-heroic and can still be lifted by Phoenixes, like vanilla, but in Brothers in Arms they're heroic and can't be lifted, again like vanilla.
@@phaneros those are different hybrid units though. Unlese they Copy Pasted everything individually (animations, Sounds, Models, weapons, behaviors, etc.) they have to add later dependencies to Liberty Maps (or the shared Mod File) in Order to get libs, widow mines, etc. And that can get messy.
@@herrdoktor1810 The hybrid Reavers and Dominators are the same unit in WoL and later campaigns, the campaign dependency just modifies their stats. Interactions like that are part of why it's so difficult to pull in elements from different campaigns / co-op into earlier campaigns without having knock-on effects.
And yes, Archipelago _did_ copy-paste a ton of unit/ability/etc data and rework it to have parallel copies so we can change player stats independent of enemy stats. Most of the models / assets are in liberty.sc2mod regardless (liberators and widow mines are in there, it's just none of the WoL maps use them), so we can pull them in directly. Archipelago _does_ ship assets for some things defined only in campaign files, such as WoL armory icons. It also includes some originals / assets from other projects, like the signifier and valkyrie assets.
@@herrdoktor1810 Hybrid Reavers and Dominators are the same unit ID across all the campaigns, they're just modified differently. Similar situation to immortals with barrier vs hardened shield. Relationships like that are why mods that smash different campaigns / expansions together often have knock-on effects.
Archipelago avoids this issue through a lot of labour: all the game data has been separately copied over for the player faction. This is why the prophecy/prologue missions have LotV war council tech by default right now. This also means that enemy units are unaffected, as we e.g. don't pull in the void dependency for wol maps. This means a lot of data has been explicitly copied out into the AP mods, but it's less than you might think; most of the game data Blizz added over the years was added to the base mod (liberty.sc2mod), so it's possible to add liberators or disruptors to WoL maps without adding a new mod dependency, for instance. AP references these asset files but copies the game data like unit stats. Some assets still had to be copied out, mostly campaign-mod icons like WoL armory icons and original content / content from non-blizzard sources like the valkyrie or signifier models.
The last video of this VOD series should only have Grant saying "Archipelago" as the little intro
5:01 I literally said 'well this mission just got complicated' at the same time grant said 'well this mission just got very interesting' lmao
1:54:05 giant drop-pod
29:15 art imitates life - Grant feeling *Pain. Surprise...Death."
Just as a thing that I thought I noticed about the Odin dying in the first attempt was that the odin doesnt seem to have its normal base armour or is it usual for the BCs to do 10 damage to the odin per shot???
could be the HotS damage multiplier from brutal being applied. Because that's a thing that exists in that campaign for some reason. And idk how archipelago works, but if some missions get place in a HotS framework or whatever, good chance it would also add the multiplier to the mission itself.
@@glauberjunior9870 Its possible that the way he got all the campaigns in one area was by adding them into Hots cause randomizing what you get as reward for each mission must require them to be all in the same place?
I didnt pay attention to how much starting supply you go throughout but damn with so many starting supply and starting minerals rewards it might be worth making variations of this mod.
We already have "play the terran campaign as zerg" "player the zerg campaign as protoss" etc - so all those merged into one, pick your race and that's all you ever play throughout the entire game's worth of missions, "starting supply" "starting minerals" "Starting gas" turn out to be worthwhile, since you unlock more units for the one faction you do play as without having to unlock the other two factions' units.
Could go toward an endgame with 200 starting supply and enough minerals to quickstart your expansion from the getgo. Less chaotic than this version but, more rewarding
I don't think I've ever seen a Raven + Vulture combo (unless it's a thing in Co-op commanders or something). There should be a mod allowing you to play entire Wings using only this combo fr
We had some pretty major clutch wins during this run. Like at least 4-5 last second victories on low supplies and no coming back.
A more effective way to use the wrathes ability for increase damage after moving into have them move command and clump and then click hold position. They will auto attack after as they start to drift apart which triggers the ability and it lets you quickly and easily micro them.
Is grant ok?😭 man taking a break would also be reasonable
"Nova died. It's okay. She'll be back." And in greater numbers
Flashpoint was a massive loot crate. 16 items
Depot Dave has gone mad with power.
1:40:36 Kerrigan with her muscles coming in to break some legs! Haha!
for me 90% of the Terran missions was mass Marauder as the game never gave me Terran units till much later and i still dont have the marine despite having every upgrade for them
cries in zerglings
I love how chat convinced grant to go mass scout, and then a few missions later he gets a bunch of scout upgrades 😂
The victory a split second before the loss of your last building was epic.
Ravens are the name of the episode not valks. Those angry looking little robots(if u know carbot)
Supplicants are basicly the backbone of Taldarim, i guess Grant didnt play much Alarak coop. Supplicants have one purpose, to die to empower others, and maybe to tank shots before they get sacraficed.
There is indeed always more stuff on the archives
Grant getting more upgrades for the scout AFTER the rak'shir mass scout is literally one of those random archipelago moments
Always a good day when ggg posts
Where is the end of the mission form the last video? :d
Honestly archipelago speedrun would be cool
I didn't know that Valkieries even are in SC2. AFAIK no mission in campain, nor co-op uses them.
Hyperion mission in HotS remebered yous words. . .
It's a custom model created by the community, with a lot of talented devs on the Archipeligo project working on it. Phanerus did a ton of work to make a unique "attack ground" upgrade for them for instance.
@@Ikobot. being fair, those are valkyries in name only since they're basically an entirely unrelated model with the same name and weapon name taped over it
@@Subsourian true. But still it better than nothing. And if I remember properly, there were unused asset for it.
But Archipelago team really done a glorious deeds.
@@Subsourian they did miss a chance to make the mercenay one use a new model instead of the viking tho, i mean, it have the landing part, but with the air to ground attack i wonder if that was necessary tho
This playthrough has some insane clutch endings
I saw this series on Twitch, it was really good
1:00:29 he truly is mr. Games
What this mod really need to finish it up, is replacing the allies stuff which stuff that was unlocked through the archipelago unlocks.
I am pretty hyped for the Super Summer Shindig
Turns out in Archipelago you can get an upgrade that not only allows planetaries to lift off, but also allows them to shoot while lifted off. It's hilarious.
My campaign map looks similar to grant's. Unlocked all to the left, minimum unlocks to the right. lol
I'm no modder, but Archipelago is probably using LoTV (maybe coop too based on the icon on the CC) dependencies, based on the fact that units like the Cyclone or Liberator are present in WoL. This may slightly change how the AI works, but don't quote me.
Archipelago creates it's own dependency due to compatibility issues
The psionic orb is good as unlike storm it stacks. 2 orbs can hit the same unit.
This means when you have 10 Ascendants you can orb and kill everything super fast but untill then rapid-fire mind blast
GGWP, QueenGrantGames!
26:58 I had a similar experience with Welcome to the Jungle... Tried to do it with the Ghost, but the main base actively produces Observers for no reason I can determine, and with my extremely limited skill that proved too much (on that run).
I can of course try a different composition, but I am very confused by those Observers, since afaik you are guaranteed unable to do anything cloaked on that mission....
the pool noodle of the dominion
For the nova mission, I woulda turned your command centers into planetary fortresses, for the extra defenses
Defence!!!
Where are you getting these thumbnails?
The Supplicant slander CANNOT stand.
In the last mission the energizer can deploy into a power field you know...
I know this is Grant's break, but it'd be cool if some day he would make more videos like the Zerg vs Empire one.
It's our favorite ally Talit!
39:10 if you lift land is it still land or is it now air?
wait, didn't grant already have orbital command on redstone??? or was that just the one that you find from Tosh's team?
im not sure if ive missed it (or its just really obvious and im smoooth) but where are the thumbnails art from?

hello grant ! all good ? take care of yourself !
Exactly what i thought aswell
Now how fast can Grant finish an impossible settings run if he chooses the path?
Ooh, a nice hat
A lore question:
Did the story of media blitz actually lead to anything?
Mengsk is still in power until Kerrigan, so was the whole thing pointless in the end?
Rebellions all throughout Dominion space
@@indominusrex1652 That's still in Wol, right?
Anything longterm?
Indirectly, Arcturus puts it down through claiming victory over the zerg which placates the people for a time, but in the end it led to people being much more willing to accept Valerian stepping in over his dad. So it allowed Valerian to come into power with not a lot of fuss similar to how the Confederacy was largely discredited by the time Arcturus took over.
Terran politics like that were going to play more into Heart, but they got feedback that it was WAY too much of a terran topic for a zerg story. Which being fair... HotS already is way too much a terran story, so going further with it would have been even messier.
@@Subsourian That makes sense, thank you.
Valkyrie Prepared :)
valkyries seemed to be quite decent in ground mode too.
the mercenaries I mean, brunhildr or something they were called.
1:20:13 can't unhear it now :P
If there is a mission for Scouts... it's not in this game.
Suffering with Scouts just before getting their upgrades... So sad.
I hope that since this was recorded the amount of starting supply was cut down a bit...
NEW UPLOAD
Grant are you okay? I don't know if something happened to you or if this "pause" was announced somewhere.
Why are half the units still not unlocked by the end of the run?
Unupgraded supplicants have lower dps than workers
And more hp than Scouts!
3:00 you need to destroy 20or40 zerg unit i dont know
Well skipping any mission felt weird if you ask me
how can i play it?
What's going on Grant?
2h :O
I just wanna know what the signifires do
Their psi storm reduces armor by 5 iirc
These here gas capsules o'er yonder.
I had to try to win this (Dark whispers) without any units or tech in my own run. Didn't happen. This was before I scrolled down to discover the campaigns don't have to be done in order.
Day to asking for help how to play this mod ? 🎉🎉
Day 9 of asking ggg to play /speedrun the beginner tutorial hidden in the Main Menu near settings
What happend to giantgrantgames? Is he still alive?
Yeah, i wanna know too.
@zackwalker2172 I hope he's okay. I don't have a discord or is there any information?
I was a little curious about this myself, according to the discord he was going to stop uploading after the archipelago mod was done in preparation for his big June event. Most recent post that I could find from him was on the 16th, and may have just not uploaded the last video of the run.
