It's really great, but I disagree with the "No BS, straight to the point". There's a good amount of commentary that could be skipped that talks about how/why videos were made. Straight to the point would just be the videos back to back.
@matthew peech One thing I love about your how-to videos on making items to sell is that you show how to create the jigs to make the assembly repeatable. Nobody else I've seen does this and I appreciate it! I might give it a try sometime as a side hustle.
I am one of those people who tried my hand at wood working during the plague. Had always wanted to learn but was put off by the endless "math". Watched a bunch of videos on how to replace my back gate and found one guy who said the magic words to this seamstress "template" aka "pattern". And a monster was born! You show the pattern without all the math and I cannot tell you how excited I am to get into the garage every weekend and try one of your "patterns".
@Matthew Peech Some times the most simplest things are the best. Like the squares with a screw in them to hold your project off the table, that is priceless. Along with all your info is priceless to those of us woodworks. Remember to keep up the good job, you are a valued you tuber!
Again, WOW. You are new to youtube but i absolutely love your format where you don;t waste time. You deliver tips for all of us, old/new to woodworking... sometimes i roll my eys but also remember I WAS NEW TO THIS ONCE and then you toss something in that rejuvenates the brain and gets me thinking... well-earned sub!
Matthew, in a previous comment I said you had one of my top three favorite channels. I have to change that and put you solely at #1. Besides having an amazing broad knowledge, you have a natural talent to teach. I’m a new wanna-be woodworker and appreciate everything you’ve taught me. A million thank you’s!
Something about you reminds me of Billy Bob Thornton. Voice? Accent? Idk what it is! ❤ You just popped into my feed & I subbed right away. My husband just taught me how to use his tools so I'm a brand new Carpenter. I've built closet shelves, kitchen cabinet doors, a few boxes & a table. All since October. I'm soaking up all the info I can get! Thanks for the tips!
I'm very happy I found this channel. I live on a busy street so I've picked out about 6 or 7 different items you've suggested that im going to build a few of each & set up a yard sale on the weekend. I'll check back in to let yall know how it goes.
You make great videos!! I really liked the saw blade jointer. You could lay out all the boards flat and screw them to 2 long pieces and then make all your cuts at one time. So, if you need 8 boards, you're set to make only 4 repetitive cuts.
Awesome stuff, I always forget the other stuff the speed square can do and those stand offs.... I'm hitting myself in the head for not realizing that! Will definitely be digging in my scrap boxes to make some. Thanks for the tricks and please keep them coming!
Your short tips is why I am here. I’m always wanting to learn new things and especially to cut time. I wish I saw this last night. I was using my nailer and all the nails were coming out the side. I was working on a drawer. It was also taking out two nails at a time. Not sure why that was happening. Thanks for all your advice and great videos.
I'll probably be doing more on quick tips Sheri! So what I want you to do is make sure that you're using the right gauge nail for your nailer. Using the wrong size will cause it to double drop.
@@MatthewPeechWoodworking awe! You are so smart! That’s exactly what happened. There were 18 gauge in the 16 gauge box . I wonder who did that? LOL Thanks a bunch!
Dude you are the man. I have a gumstick for cleaning sandpaper but that costs money. I got plenty of old shoes. Plus you invented self screwing screws.
Hey Matt Another good video, The tip for dented wood, back in the day on the job site, if we missed the nail ( there were no air tools in those days) We would wet the wood and rub the hammer head over the dent and it would take the dent out
Great video, some good tips! looks like i got sum old videos to look up. I don’t come hear for laughs but that rainbow part caught me off gaurd! Well done sir!! Appreciate it all!!
Lol. I have to cut out a lot of things... but it kills me that I can teach real skill and not get a fraction of the response as I do from videos like that.
I have seen you use what looks like a ruler with a lock on it. I was just wondering what it is. Any help would be great. And thank you for putting these videos out for people to learn from it has been a great help for me.
Just found your channel sucha refreshing style. Tip with your stand offs I make them with a few extra holes in the base close to the centre pin then you can stack them or pair them face to face so you don't stab your self.
Man thanks for all the good information you provided on this video sure wood like to work with you one weekend. Keep up the good work on teaching us woodworking skills.
Hey Matthew love the channel. I’m a rough carpenter looking to get into woodworking and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your knowledge and ability to teach. It makes it helpful to know all the tips and tricks of the trade as there are many and sometimes I don’t even know where to start 😂 Would love to know more tips and tricks for a mitre saw, skill saw and table saw especially since I don’t have all those tools and would like to know how to compensate for not having say a table saw but a skill saw thanks
Hey Matthew! I have the same Dewalt sliding miter saw, I would like a segment on setting up this saw, how to use all the features and types of projects could be made, just using this saw! I realize I am not using the full capability of my saw, Thanks to you!
I like the 'scrap 'n' screw' alternative to painter's tripods. Another economical option if you don't want to pay $6.47 for a bag of 10, but may be out of extra screws or suitable scrap, is to buy a bag of 'rebar chairs', for holding up rebar off the bottom of a concrete pour. The cheapest ones I found are $4.47 for a bag of 20 that are 2 1/4" tall, at 'the Depot'. They have a little rebar clip at the top, 2 high points, and if that messes up the paint too much, clip one off.
I have found that the brad nail tip is arbitrary, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. You never know what is inside the wood that may divert the nail. I am meticulous about the tip of the nails and they still blow out.
Great video as always. I have a request for a video. Can you show how to zero you dewalt miter saw? I can not get mine to cut straight and think my dewalt backer is off but probably just me. We have the same saw except I rarely use mine because I square left side of blade then the right side is off? I feel stupid I can’t follow those dam directions lol. Please help me Mathew lol.
Hey! If the base is square to the fence and the blade is square to the base then it should be square on both side. If its not your blade may be warped. Forget about the plates... they are adjustable. Find square and then adjust the plates to read to your blade. A digital miter gauge is cheap and a must! zero to the base and then put on the blade.
Man I love and hate that feeling.. We cant think of everything but its nice to learn a new tip. Anytime your struggling with something just stop... sit back and think... and most of the time you can create something that will help.
I made one of these stand off with a 6x6 piece of scrap plywood with finish nails ay random positions that I use to spray small figurines that I cut on the scroll saw. Inexpensive and works great. I will now make some with a single nail too.
@@MatthewPeechWoodworking ratio 2:1. Two parts water and one part acrylic paint. Will that work? And thank you. You got a new subscriber :) good videos.
This is my favorite woodworking channel! No BS, straight to the point, and a great host. Keep up the work! You've helped a ton!
Thanks Jerome! I'll keep doing my thing!
I second the motion .

Golden gems of knowledge nuggets! Love the idea how to fix unflush boards!

Look through the vids... he has one of building another similar unit. Fyi
Unfortunately not... But TY! Those plans are in this crazy squirrel brain.

Love it Bill. Never thought about that! Great idea!
Thank you. I did not realize the mitre saw had a stop. Felt rather silly once I took a good look at mine.
I just snapped the screw gently applying even pressure from all sides and the screws thread was fine on all 4 screws
Kudos to you for explaining the use of crown stops on the miter saw. Other people hold that back, I guess as a carpenters' secret.
No worries! I like for people to see all options. Then they can choose the one that fits them best.
I have found that the brad nail tip is arbitrary, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. You never know what is inside the wood that may divert the nail. I am meticulous about the tip of the nails and they still blow out.
They can still blow out regardless of angle.. but it is far less likely.
Can you make a shooting bench?
Yes... yes I can.

hey, I would like the secret to the self-driving screw. I've seen you do this on a couple of your videos, but how?
I’ve had a brad nail go into finger about half an inch
Thank you not adding music to your videos.

Hah! I’ve been working with wire snippers/strippers for over 22 years...never knew that about the holes in the strippers.
What kind of bolt is that at the end…automaticity screws it’s self in…..never saw one of them or that technic …
