I've heard lots of versions of this song, and I always thought that last note was rather underwhelming. The song is fantastic but the end always felt like a lost opportunity for a more majestic finish. Now it might be because it's not the end of the show, and it might be a way to save some energy for the rest of the show (which often is played more than once per day, it's very taxing physically). Morissette absolutely nailed it. She didn't even go overboard, just added a little flair to it and it made a world of difference.
That "fly" wassss addicting, it was literally so amazing im in awe.
Something that you need to know, this wonderfully amazing young LADY, she has had no vocal training, in fact the only tuition she had was breathing exercises when she was in her teens, she has had a little bit of theatre experience when she played the lead in camp rock in the Philippines, I've been following her for over 4yrs now and I have learned quite a lot about her background, this girl can sing anything, any genre, her live stage performances are the best you will ever witness, I like too class her as a FEMALE Freddie Mercury, she is without question the greatest FEMALE ARTIST on the PLANET and to many people are sleeping on her, just check out her recent 5 co-written and co-produced masterpiece tracks from her EP, SIGNATURE, the live band performances are too special for words 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

I've seen Wicked multiple times (thanks, day seats) and this song still gives me goosebumps. My absolute dream is to someday watch Morissette play Elphie here in West End.

I completely disagree that she "slays" any song in any sense of the meaning of that word. Simply she makea a song, she makes it better, she makes it have a story beyond the words and she makes you feel something from it....Morrissete doea not kill or slay...she brings to life..m!

I've read this is concidered beeing one of the most hardest Broadway songs to sing but for Morissette it's just another walk in the park!
I love how she's channeling a different energy, yet still managed to give justice to the song. Not only vocally but also lyrically.
I've not watched The Wicked in full but as far as I know, Elphaba was tired of trying to fit in and was full of resentment when she sang it.
On the other hand, Morissette delivered that in more of a positive way. Carefree and joyful. Like she's tired of giving an F about everything, "I'll just be me and happy" energy.

She brings you in slowly... talks to you.. smiles at you .. charms the shit out of you ... then hits you in the FACE with her astonishing power. She might be my favorite singer of all time . It is so rewarding to watch someone like yourself, who knows from whence they speak, be totally blown away by the force of nature that is Queen Mori. At the beginning of the pandemic, on a live stream, in a polo from the Filipino version of J.C. Penney, as the final of five show tunes, she gives us a performance that rivals any I've ever heard. She completely inhabits any character that is required. Her talent and passion for her craft is second to none. Your facial expressions said it all. No emojis needed.

There are very few people that are just born with a gift and morisette is one of those special people as soon as you hear her open her mouth it captures your attention and it makes you feel this mesmerizing feeling and happiness in your soul it’s perfection at its best she never disappoints she knows her voice and knows how to use it and she is one of those humble and grounded artist that doesn’t live for the glitz and glamor she just like to sing and make her listeners happy you can see it the emotions she delivers in every word the she sings so much passion on stage but as soon as she steps off stage she is just like you and me just a normal person she never forgets where she came from a struggling hard working young lady that’s what I love about morisettes she is as real as they come

This is the first time I heard this song from Morissette and again she "killed" it and "owned" it. I still have the 2 VIP tickets I got for her supposed concert tour in
CHICAGO last January 8, 2022, but was cancelled due to increasing Covid-19 cases. Jennifer, I love your reaction because I can see and feel they are genuine,

I actually appreciate the pauses you make to point out certain nuances in the way the song is delivered. As someone who is not a very good singer, I enjoy the analysis of vocal coaches like you who are able to hear and see things that we normally don't pick up on.
