DP/30 @ TIFF: Spotlight, Tom McCarthy

He racked up his 2nd and 3rd Oscar nominations as director and co-writer of Spotlight, the film about the Boston Globe's investigation into The Church and child molestation. Before now, he's had a remarkable career of highs and lows (mostly highs) that reflect his position as one of the industry's best.

Such a great interview. Seems like a really thoughtful person.
But it is fascinating listening to him talk about the collective responsibility of press and industry ppl (in regards to Cosby and the Catholic Church) an entire year before the Weinstein story broke. I wonder what kind of press cycle this film would have if it dropped right in the midst of that.
