small comment on the stuff that didn't happen: the game was intended to have a story mode section for all characters, but due to time constraints, only the available 11 were finalized, if Trunks' story had been finished and implemented, then he'd have fought broly and warned them about him as a side quest. i know this because i used to make mods for this game a decade ago and browsed through the speech bubble text and audio files in the game. there were tons of other stuff planned including for the characters that already have a story mode, which was not implemented (like a scenario where you fuse into gogeta to fight super buu instead of vegetto). most of the capsules that you unlock by buying out most of the store were intended to be unlocked this way (gogeta from the previous example)
While the video is probably a bit long for most people's tastes, I actually really enjoyed the format of "Let's hyper edit a playthrough and explain mechanics in the order in which they actually appear during that playthrough". I loved when playing Brolys story mode, under the right conditions, your final battle would be against ultimate gohan and when you’d beat him you would succeed in destroying the earth
I need a new budokai style game! I'm fully burnt out on all the tenkaichi style open arena games, kakarot was fun for a few hours before you realise they could've done so much more with it and I'm not good enough at traditional 2d fighting games to truly enjoy fighterZ.
I used to play this all the time as a kid, my first ever introduction to DBZ. The game surprisingly has more depth than meets the eye, for example pressing guard while holding a charged attack would cancel into block allowing you to do a followup afterward while they are still recovering. Good video!

What kind of question is that? Of course it's still a good game. Do people still play MvC 2 & 3? OF COURSE. Witnessing high level players duke it out is insane and most people wouldn't believe the combos that you could actually pull off; especially if you could master the ridiculous infinite transformation glitch for combo resets. the budokai games truly shine when you get into their advanced mechanics. They all do some sort of effort on the story telling, but I think the jist is that they re-tell the stories assuming you already know what happened. Most ppl who play these games already know the story, so ehhh, not much of a penalty there. I WILL SAY the 1st one had godlike story telling. But yeah, these games are INSAAANELY good if you actually get into advanced techniques. They're VERY deep technical games and are not button mashers as many call them. immaculate editing, though!
I cheated playing this game. I had an action replay and I just had everything unlocked from the start. Gameplay wise and content wise This was definitely the best of that franchise. But I kind of missed the simplistic way the first game worked in both the story mode and just as a fighter. I was not a fan of trying to level up each character and unlock all the capsules for them. So I just was able to get right into it with everything ready to go. I did miss the way the first game presented the story, but man did I play the hell out of this game just as a fighting game. I never got into the Tenkaichi games, I didn't like the arena aspect of them. I preferred the Budokai series, and that's why my heart was broken when burst limit came out and then they never followed up with it again

the budokai games truly shine when you get into their advanced mechanics.
