I love listening to your talk about books, even ones I haven’t read or aren’t on my TBR 🤍
PS I can’t wait for you to read ToG and ACOTAR! I’m really interested to hear which series & characters you enjoy more. I also started both series having zero spoilers somehow and I am so glad you are getting to experience them without spoilers 🥰

What age should these be aimed at. My wife just found our 15 year old with the set in her room and is about to burn them because of the sexual content 😂

WELL… there is a bit of sexual content but if you’re okay with your daughter exploring sexual content then it’s not a toxic depiction of sex or love so I think it all depends on your boundaries as parents.

Deffo do your research on reading orders for the SJM books but it was my first dip into fantasy and it has been/is a wild ride, I’ve read ACOTAR: 1,2 and 3, now currently on the tandem read of TOG (i did assassins blade 4th AND I WILL DIE ON THAT HILL), then I’ll be going back to acotar 4 and 5 and then crescent city

Seen this video when it came out and finally decided to start this series, and it is so good!! I’m about 2/3 way through flawless and I’m so glad I started it all thanks to you Angelika!! Also have you read any of the series by Ana Huang? If so can you do a video on them???

To me Powerless stopped me in my tracks regarding momentum in reading the series. I just was not into it.
I would rank them favorite to least favorite as:
    Heartless
    Reckless
    Flawless
    Hopeless
    Powerless

acotar is very overhyped in my opinion, it had a lot of tell instead of show, it felt like a fantasy for adults who didn’t reads books as kids (which isn’t an issue, but sometimes it felt like the fantasy and story lacked something)

I haven’t read Hopeless (or any of the other books in the series) but I have a partner with severe ptsd due to his military service. IMO a lot of author don’t really get it right and leans into the stigmas :/ obviously I don’t know how Elsie did but I guess I’ll have to read the series to figure it out haha

    • @angelikascorner

I can see that being the case for Hopeless even though I personally don’t know anyone who served

Just curious, I know it’s a series but do you have to read them in order to understand them or can they be read as stand-alone romance books. Just wanted to know cause they sound interesting but some sound more interesting then others

I would say you can either pick and choose which ones you want to read and accept that you’ll read about characters you don’t know anything about OR read them all in order for a complete story. (basically don’t read them out of order if you intend on reading them all but if you don’t want to read them all you technically can do that)
