I feel the same regarding reading a romance book written by a man (as a female). I cannot speak from experience so far, so I have actually selected a book to test it. I did read a few books where both perspectives are shown (written by a woman) and even though I liked this style of writing a lot, I always wondered if the representation of the male characters was "correct"😮
I swear, romance books have never quite figured out the right cover formula. No wonder we're all reading ebook romances - it's the only way we can forget about the ugly covers with brooding shirtless blokes on them.
I really like Ashley Herring Blake's covers for her Bright Falls series. They're illustrated but they aren't cartoony blobs. Lauren Asher tends to have good covers too. Especially her latest book. Most contemporary romance tho...can stay on the kindle, that's for sure
I've read Beach Rivals and I really enjoyed it!! I think it comes from an Aussie author (not 100% sure tho). It isn't a strong enemy to lovers but it was a quick fun read :)
I’m currently reading with love from cold world and I am enjoying it thus far I’m about half way. I read her other book love in the time of serial killers and I loved it a lot
honestly you will ruin yourself for Tessa Bailey by reading It Happened One Summer 🥲 I read it and LOVED it (and the sequel was decent) but EVERY OTHER BOOK I've read by Tessa Bailey was the worst book I've ever read. I don't know if it was a fluke or what but it's like night and day 🫣😬
No same, I read My Killer Vacation and liked it, tried one of her short KU series and it was fine but tried Window Shopping and wanted to throw myself out of the window 😂
