Great video, thanks! The slightly aggressive communication style, you guys seem to indulge in, might not be for the faint of heart (I assume you're old friends and quite at ease with eachother) - but nonetheless, your in- and post game chat reflections, including general impressions of the terrain and teams, is super instructive and interesting!
For the double shot the drone took on the vespid, where they were both on vantages. Wouldn’t the shots not be obscured, as you ignore obscuring on the active operative and intended targets terrain?
How far are we gonna go with connected though? The bunkers are big squares what if you are using the wall opposite of the vantage for obscuring I mean it’s technically connected
Great video as usual! I wanted to ask if you could explain a bit better the initial move with the long sting. You declared that as long it's in conceal it can't be targeted. Why? Because what about it getting shot from your opponent territory? (The cover is from your territory) Thank you I'm advance!
It's because Vantage now gives light cover and it has a conceal order. Can only be negated if shooting at the same height or higher, or if you have seek (:
Correct me if I'm wrong please, but I think at 25:00 the Vespid was not Obscured as it was within 1" of the Intervening Heavy Terrain - then again at 33:35 because Heavy Terrain attached to the Vantage Point is ignored?
Great battle report! Can't wait for the full rules release, I'm so hyped to see how the rest of teams do in the new edition. I'm a bit of a rules lawyer, sorry! For Aquilons, by the end of TP1 less than half of the team needs to be set up above, so the last operative can't pass, he had to drop. Also, Aerial Agility only works if the shooter is Counteracting, has moved, or was set up during that activation. If they fire before moving it cannot be used, so at least two vespids should've died in TP2.
Love the video, would you guys be interested in doing a strategy idea/tips/guide video for the aquilons and vespids(aquilons first ofc), I feel like a lot of people would interested!
At 25:30ish it seems to show you only rolling and picking up a single die for Ariel Agility? That should be one die for each die that would be damaged but capped at one success? Just wondering if we just couldnt see the other die or you did just roll a single die?
your opponent at the end is kind of sweaty, with the "everything SHOULD be dead", "board plays to the vespids" and also "model should have been here" part way though and espc with fly rule at the end, its wayyyyy easier to measure fly than it is to measure normal movement weaving around terrain, anyone can gain 1/2 inch if they wanted to cheat so why call out the fly rule specifically? If you're doing normal move that is more complex, get yourself a base to measure from rather than telling others to do it when you literally only measure in a straight line ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ maybe this sounds a little harsh but they did complain a lot
Still have not seen a battle report between these teams where the Vespids don’t win by a large margin… They don’t seem very balanced, so I totally get the frustration across the table
love your insight and videos on kill team but you and Charles do really get a bit too heated in your debates its like a mini argument with every move! just got back into kill team and have really enjoyed your content and advice on the factions since release :)
I may be wrong but I think your opponent did the Aquilon drop rules incorrectly. First, I think you need to put your largest group out first (4 models on the table), Second, half your team has to be on the ground at the end of the first turning point (6 models total).
@@CanYouRollaCrit But RAW, you need to have LESS THAN half above at the end of TP1. Exactly half is not less than half. Additionally, as per the Approved Ops Mission Pack leaflet, "Each player alternates setting up one third of their kill team (rounding up), starting with the player with initiative." The way I read that you have to deploy the larger portions first. If you have 10 operatives, it's 4-3-3. If you have 11, it's 4-4-3. Etc.
At around the 30minute mark where you used the Darting Flight fireflight ploy, you could not have taken that shot as the ploy restricts shooting and fighting for the rest of the TP. Which is super lame imo. It should just say they can't use it to charge.
Charles was super stressed about that door 😂
DOORS ARE DANGEROUS THINGS
Good to see Charles is keeping John honest with rules 😂
He always does 🥲

Yeah we've been friends for over 10 years haha, thanks that's great to hear (:
great report as always! absolutely love how gently acerbic you are with each other, shows how good friends you really are lmao
Haha thanks
Great battlerep, good camera angle, clear action annunciation and statcard popups!
Thanks! Glad you liked it all (:
great video! you guys had some great explanations of situations that can be complicated to understand for newer players
Thanks! Yeah we try to always make it clear for viewers new and old alike (:
War crimes person with the grenade launcher 😂
Accurate description 👀
Thanks for the battle report. Vespid MVP goes to the blue dice!
It's because they make up green 👀
That armor re-roll for the Vespid ploy was brutal. Seemed like he hit on all those. Vespid player's dice were on absolute fire this game.
Sometimes my name works aha
@@CanYouRollaCrit what's your name?
For the double shot the drone took on the vespid, where they were both on vantages. Wouldn’t the shots not be obscured, as you ignore obscuring on the active operative and intended targets terrain?
Oh no when shooting the grenade launcher Vespid it would benefit from the vantage heavy
@CanYouRollaCrit he's actually right. On page 60 of the core Rulebook it states you ignore heavy terrain on vantage for the purpose of obscured.
Ah 😅
How far are we gonna go with connected though? The bunkers are big squares what if you are using the wall opposite of the vantage for obscuring I mean it’s technically connected

It is hard to see but I think it position it is on, is on the third level, 6" or so up. It is the only point in the kill zone is that high
Vantage is auto light cover regardless of line of sight? That seems crazy powerful
@@JesterOnCrack The floor is light cover, so if you are below and shoot up, they guy up top gets cover.

But Charles did have 5 operatives deployed end of tp1 (:
@@CanYouRollaCrit 5 of 10 still above? That's still not LESS THAN half.

Is therecany chance to have you guys trying new edition with old kill teams? Like vet guards etc?
When we have more time, yes (:

Did John try to flush those dice down the toilet?
Maybe 👀😂
Cool video guys! Btw what card sleeves did you use for your new Ops cards? Looking to order before my copy of Hivestorm arrives =)
Thanks, tarot sized sleeves
Where'd you get the laser line pointer? I want one so bad for my games.
From Dakota at Lusters workshop (:
Are all missions limited to 3 objectives now instead of 4? I ask because the objective markers in the link only come in groups of 3
Yeah all missions are 3 objectives now (:
What are you using for round counter numbers? I like the size and heft, never forget what round youre in again!
Thanks they're door numbers aha
I cant decide how to paint Volkus, but yours looks great!
Thanks! I'm happy with how the green turned out (:
What are the dimensions of the drone? It's important :c
Great battle report! Where do you get the sleeves for the cards?
Thanks! They're Arcane Tinman tarot sized sleeves (:
Can the drone perfoms mission action ?
Nope sadly
Why would he block a normal at 22:30 though? The shooter didn't move.
Oh yeah a mistake on my end 😅
What king of camera for recording are you using? The image is pretty nice. :)
Lumix G5 (:
What colours did you use for your Aquilons?
Armour is castellex bronze drybrushed silver, suit is black drybrushed pro acryl blue black then light blue black with thinned ratling grime wash (:
How did you paint the green scales on your Vespids if you don't mind me asking? It looks great
2 coats of thinned scorpion contrast then tips thinned karandras contrast (:
@@CanYouRollaCrit Thanks! I really need to start using contrast paints haha
Where dya get those sleeves for the cards!!??
Arcane tinman tarot sleeves (:

Tarot card sized
any idea on when you will show off the new Fellgor rules?
Soon 👀
