- Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is being remade by Disney into a live action movie for 2024 titled Snow White. Rachel Zegler is Snow White and Gal Gadot of Wonder Woman fame is the Evil Queen. Rachel Zegler states Disney’s new Snow White will not be a story of true love and a heroic prince but about personal power. Snow White erases men, cancels dwarves, favors ideology over story and promotes an actresses greed for more money simply to wear a dress that’s only worked in Hollywood for 2 years. With Marvel dying, Disney is in serious trouble. That’s just for starters!

I'm still baffled they're calling it Snow White when they've practically removed EVERY core detail that makes it Snow White:
• Snow White gets her name due to her very pale skin? - Nope, gotta be diverse and have a Latine whose skin isn't even close to pale
• The seven dwarves who take in Snow White in her time of need and cared for her like family? - No, can't have more than one dwarf, it's offensive and Disney want more diversity!
• An old and simple fairytale about finding love and getting a happily ever after? - Can't have that because we need to have a girlboss role model for the girls with no other personality aside from being better than everyone for the millionth time!
(Sorry, I just get frustrated the more I hear about how the story is getting changed and at this point, there's no way am I calling it Snow White)

Time we all boycotted the woke society and being dictated to by what should be a democracy we are all supposed to live in. For me, Disney is out of the window along with Netflix, PRH, OW, GK, never did Spotify, Twitter, newspapers, never done ”trendy magazines full of BS,” etc. Also boycotting mainstream news channels and self opinionated journalists- time for ordinary people to stand up and be counted.
It's more akin to parents buying you it, it gets looked after, then put away into the attic in collector worthy condition. Decades later, you now own valuable content that is guaranteed money. Instead of keeping or selling it, you take it out of the packaging & let the dog use it as a chew toy. When done, you then put it back in the packaging & try to sell it as a collectors item at top dollar. You then get pikachu face when nobody is interested in what you have to offer.
Disney didn't even need to make live action versions of these classics. Give it to Pixar & let them make modern 3d adaptions that stayed true to the original. They would have made a fortune.

She has already said she hated the cartoon, and she was afraid of the Disneyland or Disney World ride. Strangely enough, days before saying that, she posted pictures on social media of herself as a little girl wearing a Snow White dress. Even though she was not the same exact ethnic background as the cartoon character and the original character on which the cartoon was based.
Just like the little mermaid actress, who had no problem as a child loving cartoon Ariel, and going swimming pretending to be Ariel.

What irks me is the '' it's not 1937..'' line. It is also not 1812 when the tale was first officially recorded by the Grimms. But that previous 125 years of history means nothing to her. Not to mention the countless centuries before that in which the tale existed in oral form. She just cast of centuries of other people's cultural heritage in a single sentence.

When in the interview, Rachel says that Snow White dreams of being a leader, I cringe so very hard. Only a narcissist would dream of a position of power and controlling and ruling over people. Actual good leaders don't dream of being leaders, they are forced into the position by circumstances or birth, and they don't want the position but have to take it out of duty. Rachel sounds 1000% like an SJW who's so excited to play the revolutionary.
Princesses of that time didn't dream of being leaders, they were prepared to make marriages of convenience for political alliances. Good rulers were too busy with duties and serving their people to dream of power. They did what was needed of them and hoped they didn't do it too bad. But narcissistic dictators, those were dreaming of grandeur and being remembered for posterity. Urgh, only the most undeserving dreams of being a leader. A worthy leader dreams of not having to be a leader anymore.

It's not that they can't remake their classic films. They can and will continue to do so. It's also accurate to claim they have 100% rights to do so on their own properties. It's also true, they also have the ability to force their "fans" into boycotting the company, refusing to purchase anything remotely related to Disney, and eventually they will become bankrupt and eventually disappear from the planet. It's up to you and me to stop their madness by refusing to ride the Disney train further.

I love the way Rachel continues the claim that the original is outdated because her new and improved version is more about Snow White having agency and is all about being empowered and the leader she should be.
I haven’t seen the original in decades, but I remember there being a powerful Queen who ordered her Huntsman to bring her the heart of Snow White? Was that not the epitome of an empowered female character? That was the clear difference between Snow White and the Queen, so now she is saying that Snow White is more about being like the Queen. White wants to usurp the evil Queen so she can now take the mantle and try to murder the next younger, prettier princess to take her place.
I thought the difference between Snow White and the evil Queen was they didn’t share the same lust for power? If Snow White’s only desire is her drive to have power and rule over the people, how does she differ from the Queen? The queen ordered her Huntsman to bring her the heart of Snow White and once she found out he had deceived her, she had him killed. Yep, that patriarchy was in full swing back then. I guess the Queen was actually a trans in the original?
Peter Dinklage knows how to keep all future dwarf roles for himself. How come Peter didn’t have a problem with taking the role of Tyrion Lannister? I think that Tyrion should have been played by some 6’2” actor so they didnt play into the stereotype of dwarves.
On the flip side, the role of the Mountain should have been played by some 5’8” actor as not to play into stereotypes of giants. Maybe they should have cast Dinklage as The Mountain? That would certainly shatter all stereotypes.
This new Snow White just has to be a train wreck. There is just no way it could be anything else. Gal Gadot will need to have the performance of a lifetime to convincingly play a woman of her beauty to be jealous of Rachel Zegler’s looks.
The going fan theory about the movie was the queen actually let the huntsman die of thirst in the dungeon which wouldn't surprise me given the scene of her leaving the castle to deliver the apple. Surprisingly dark for that era of Disney, most of their movies at the time were not about to imply anything like that.
The story of snow white is a classic. If you don't want to tell the story then make it someone else's story.

When I was a little girl my grandparents took me to the cinema to see Snow White (it was re-released in theaters in '93). 6-year-old me was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I dressed as Snow every single Halloween for the rest of my childhood, wore my VHS tape out from watching it over and over, and my love of animals started all because of that film. My grandfather saw it when it originally came to cinemas in 1937 and he always said it was his favorite movie (he was a Dopey fan). This woman's comments feels like a complete punch in the stomach to my childhood. THIS IS NOT THE SAME COMPANY IT USED TO BE. Walt Disney's vision has been not only completely lost, they've spat on it and dragged it through the mud.

I agree, disney isn't how it used to be. It used to be a company that focused on animation and telling amazing stories with animation. Even Walt Disney himself created this company because he had a huge love for animation and wanted to create movies for everyone to enjoy. Now today all this company cares about is doing all these live action remakes instead of creating something new with animation 😑

I cried my eyes out on Snow White when I was a kid, and I still cry my eyes out when I watch it. I love the dwarfs beautiful souls, the songs, and that she finds her Prince.. I won’t watch the film, because I don’t care, the original is perfection.
But, like... she had to wear a dress for like 18 hours, while STANDING! Forget poverty and child starvation, what this poor girl had to endure must have been agonizing. Also, imagine if her feminist friends caught her wearing a dress... the horror. What a strong brave girl.

When I was a kid pretty much anything Disney was a program my parents knew would be safe for kids of all ages. Now by default anything Disney is a must-miss unless proven otherwise.

Okay so in the fairytale (sorry to be annoying) the prince doesn't really save her. She is being transported to the castle and there is a stumble and the box is abruptly shaken and causes a piece of the apple to be dislodged from her throat. The apple was the queens third attempt. First she was selling fabrics and lace, the second time was a poison hair comb...then came the apple. The story also teaches not to open the door to strangers selling stuff.
It's oddly poetic that Disney's final breaths are full of insults at the very classics that gave them life in the first place.

All of this stuff feels like a direct attack on me even though they’re just movies. Destroying my childhood, erasing my identity, and the historical importance of Europeans, etc. in a matter of 2-3 years is terrifying. A silent insidious war that no one seems to see in front of us.
A lot of people see the attack. There's a reason Hollywood movies are doing so poorly, why the streaming services are in huge financial trouble, etc. Even people who may not consciously wish to engage with the culture war don't seem to have much desire to take their little kids to children's movies featuring LGBT, etc. And yes, it is a direct attack basically on traditional Western civilization, the nuclear family, etc.
My mother used to tell me Italian Fairy tales while I threaded her needles and watched her sew. I loved those peaceful moments...

When is someone going to inform Ms. Zegler and others, the primary role of any Royal Princess or Prince for that matter, is to marry and continue the family line. Historically a Princess would be lucky to marry someone they actually loved, instead of being forced to marry their brother, uncle or first cousin. The source material for 'Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs' is a classic fairytale first published in 1812, over 200 years old, not a 1935 animated Disney movie. The level of education and general knowledge is embarrassing.

When meal breaks are technically mandatory but emergencies don’t care if one has eaten or not, and neither do one’s bosses. Oh yeah, and it’s hard, physical labour in which one risks one’s life to protect society. However, nobody has ever had to do emergency response work in a mandatory Disney princess dress.

There would be that pesky requirement of having to interact with the public, some of whom might be less than polite. I think that would be very excellent character-building experience for her. Although the original Snow White was written by the Brothers Grimm, along with Cinderella and Rumplestiltskin and Sleeping Beauty, for some reason it's considered a Disney classic. Perhaps it was for the animation that was superb for it's time. Whatever the reason, I very happy to see Disney destroying it's own legacy.
Disney has never created anything original (other than Walt's original cartoons). Instead they have taken well known and loved folktales from countries around the world and any classic literature in the public domain that they could get their fingers on. Kipling, Dickens, Hugo, Dumas, Anderson and many others, basically anything free with a pre-built fan base.
It's rather disturbing that a company that has literally stolen cultural works from nearly every country in the world is now trying to influence culture with their own politics and agendas. Stop watching, stop paying and stop supporting these idiots that see nothing more than dollars and bottom lines.

However, the Disney brand and target audience has always been family and especially children. The majority of classics and tales they have used are already full of diversity. Different cultures, religions, politics, slavery, genders, economics, war even physical deformity. All the things they removed or softened to make their cartoons more child-friendly. Then at some point, for some reason, they decide to add back race, gender identity and social agendas without changing the target audience.

I understand representation by todays standards. If this was new and not based on a story over 200 years old and supposedly a live action retelling of a cartoon 85 years old, I would expect those standards to apply. As for Rachel Zegler and her skin color..it makes no difference. When casting the tin man for The Wizard of Oz they didn't even try to find an actor with silver skin. There is this thing called hair and make-up that changes a performers appearance based on the role. Live action remake would lead one to believe that all they were planning to do was replace cartoon animation with real persons. Pretty simple stuff. As for diversity and the rest...the two main characters are both female and powerful. One a princess and the other an evil queen, add in a race of dwarves (not humans with growth issues) it's a pretty diverse story. Good vs evil, kindness over vanity, true love wins out...when did these become unpopular? I don't care what an actor or actress thinks as a person. I care that they do their job. I could not care less what Rachel Zegler thinks about anything...she has a led a sheltered 22 year lifespan with very little world experience and obviously very little education. She claims to be an actress, so far we really haven't seen that either. Time for her to just shut up and do the job she is being over paid to do.

I was a die hard Disney fan. Went with my family at least every five years. I’m totally done with them. Unless they do complete 180 I will never ever put my money toward anything they do. Disney world is over as a vacation destination. My friend and her entire family goes every year. They refuse to go anymore

I’m a man of a certain ‘vintage’ so to speak and I can’t honestly say that I ever thought of Snow White and her less than average height companions as anything other than a nice, homely tale of good overcoming evil. I’m not sure that I can agree that progress has been made by casting a stupid little child as the lead character. Snow White had a lot going for her in the original, now she’s just a gobby pain in the arse! Dwarfs of the world - if you find a lost girl in the woods, call the emergency services and let them deal with it !!! It’s really not worth the hassle 😂
Or leave her for the wolf to eat. Saves everyone a lot of trouble. Including Grandma.
Unlike many but like a few...I have actually taken the time to read the actual stories to my kids. It's not that easy and involves a lot of questions and explanations, as anyone that has read the classics will affirm. The fairytales of 200 years ago were not for children. They were morality tales and life lessons. Snow White was the typical good vs evil, kindness over vanity and true love sometimes. Not all the endings are happy ones just as in life. I get that little people are referred to as dwarves, but the 7 from Snow White are more akin to Tolkein's version of dwarves. They're a race of beings similar looking to humans but a separate species altogether. Little people are as close to a fictional dwarf as a Komodo Dragon is to the fire breathing variety.
