Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is getting a Disney remake in 2024 and the leaked set pictures are not a good look. Despite some websites pretending at first that the pictures are fake, the disaster is real and when you combine it with what the actors have said about the movie. You have a surefire flop on your hands! Coming soon after Bob Iger renewing his contract as CEO of Disney and his comments on the Marvel MCU failure and Disney+ content pace. It's not looking good for their future. Bob Iger decided to attack the actors and writers strikes while also blaming the audience for not watching the content as there was too much of it. How can a CEO be so out of touch? But what did you think of Snow White and the Disney strike reaction? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

You are the most clever and funny man I've ever seen. Don't ever change.
You know you’re in the mindset where you think these people care about the company, but they’re just leeches; they just suck the life and money from them and then latch on to another.
Companies are all the same to them. Just places with money to be sucked up for them
If it's not about finding her Prince, then it's NOT Snow Fecking White.
On the positive: it can't become any worse now, they actually scraped rock bottom with this shit
Fun facts:
In the original GERMAN tale, by The Brothers Grimm, Snow White is described as having: "SKIN AS WHITE AS SNOW".
This is why she os named Snow White.
In the remake by disney she's called snow white cz she can snort all the coke and she poops white
THEY can never allow white to be considered beautiful
Snow 'Not so White' and 7 Climate Activists.
Aye... They had one job for the casting, but they failed...
In a white majority country, no less. The nerve!!
To be fair, you've got to hand it to Disney; 'Snow Skin Colour Irrelevant and the Seven People of Non-Assumed Gender, Height and Ethnic Identity' is a pretty snappy title.
It's cultural appropriation of a German fairy tale..

Changing Snow white and the Seven Dwarfs to no longer refer to them as dwarfs is so stupid because the magical creature came BEFORE the human medical term. They're not called Dwarfs because of Dwarfism, it's called Dwarfism as a comparison to DWARFS!
Yeap, they are actually a race in the original story.
But you see, reaching that kind of conclusion requires critical thinking, which these people clearly don't have.
Well said! FOR ROCK AND STONE!

Snow Latinx and the Seven SociaIists.
There's another version of the Brother's Grimm tale where there was no kissing involved at all to safe Snow White. What happened was that the dwarfs put her in a glass coffin but had trouble transporting her. They then saw the prince and his servants on their way and asked for help carrying the casket. Then one of them trips and the movement causes Snow White to spit out part of the apple that was stuck in her throat (which is the reason why she fell into a coma) she wakes up ans everyone is happy. The prince then hears her story and helps her get revenge on the queen by making her dance in hot iron shoes until she dies. The end
They should have just casted tall people and had the character go
“But you’re not all dwarves”
And one of the hypothetical tall ones go “SOOOOO”
“Well I guess it really doesn’t matter”
"We're LITTLE PEOPLE! GRRR"
There is a German Comedy Movie Called 7 Dwarfes The Forest is not enough and there is a 2 Meter Dwarf so already on Screen hehe
And they should have Snow White wake up from sleep by herself saying "True love belongs to no boy"
They self-identified as dwarves during the audition which pushed them over the top of the actual dwarves as the self-identified had to go through 'more' trouble in their lives.
@@virgondust Or wakes up as Bi or gay or something. Subverting expectations.
How exactly is snowwhite "all about the boy"? The prince literally only comes in towards the very end to break the curse, take snowwhite away to marry her and, if you go for the original ending, punish the evil witch by making her dance in red hot glowing iron shoes until her death.
Here's my take on it. All in all, Snow White is actually a very self-reliant and self-sufficient person. She had to travel through a dark scary forest and take care of seven people all while coping with her step-mither trying to kill her after all. However, to a lot of modern day feminists, these positive traits get overwritten by the prince kissing her and waking her at the end.
To a modern feminist, there's nothing worse than a woman needing help from a man, even when the woman has proven herself capable in all other respects.
The logic is the same as taking Mulan, a story about a girl proving that she is just as capable as men using her own effort and mind, and making it a story about a chosen one with super powers. They literally took their BIGGEST female empowerment property and turned it into "chosen one saves the day because they are the chosen one being directed by other people". Live action Mulan isn't about using one's mind and effort to prove capability in the face of danger. Live action Mulan is the story of a super powered chosen one being directed everywhere via verbal instructions on what to do.
I’d love to see a Grimm Bros’ very source-accurate Snow White version made by a talented director!
@@vioveo7440yeah, skow white was a very strong woman, she was merely 16 (or less, i cant remember) when she ran into the dark and unknown forest, she did broke down crying, which is perfectly understandable, then met the dwarves and became like a mother or older sister to them, they changed for her and, when the witch poisoned her (in the movie), the dwarves hunted her down for harming someone they deeply cared about.
The story is clearly saying how a kind woman can heavily affect the life of men, even without necessarily being in a rkmantic relationship with them, so much so that the man/men would avenge her or even protect her.
But alas, that is not the kind of strenght feminists wants today.
The 1937 movie can be about whatever you want as long as you gaslight enough.
The thing is, people with dwarfism or something similar, are the actual most marginalized people. This was their chance. No little people are being cast as Captain America, Jack Ryan, black panther, Ripley Scott, etc etc. This was their chance to give those people something only they could do. That's why the little people community online is so pissed about this.
And it all seemingly started with Peter Dinklage's twitter diarrea
People with physical disabilities make most people uncomfortable. That’s why most people who are disabled in TV and film are in wheel chairs or their disability was caused by accident. A birth defect always makes people uncomfortable.
Agree. One of the few films that have people with dwarfism. But Disney wants to use their made up representation, instead of casting people of an actual marginalized community. Disgusting. Disney should be ashamed of themselves. 😡

*I actually have a Disability and most Disabled roles are played/portrayed by actors who often aren't really Disabled.. like for example in GLEE & Superstore!*
Bingo. And Dinklage axing their chance to work in Hollywood is a shit move.
The fact that they have to crank out loser after loser "remakes" of past successes shows there is absolutely NO positive creativity going on at Disney. This company does not deserve to exist.
Exactly! What they are really saying is; they have had enough and are packing it in. Doing RETARDED things like this is the same thing as what Bud Light beer did with that retarded campaign of theirs.
god forbid they make original movies that were written for the new crop of actors whose only qualifying factor for getting the job is their skin color and or what they have between their legs or how they identify.

Kenneth Branagh's CINDERELLA was amazing... and he stuck with the story line... and the music was SUBLIME... he should have done ALL of them!!!!
Cinderella was amazing. The rest have all been so depressing and devoid of magic. The Little Mermaid remake is like watching a sad aquarium
How was the original movie so focused on Snow White falling in love? She was running from the queen who wanted her dead! She cooked and cleaned for the dwarves as compensation for letting her stay and hide there. Laying low to survive was what she wanted. Love saved her, both from the prince who broke her curse and the dwarves that chased after the queen and got her killed. Love was never an objective, it was the reaction from her being a good lovable girl. And the movie dont even end with Snow and Prince getting married on the spot, no, he take her to his castle where she will be safe from any lingering loyal support that the Queen had until she can take over the rule of her kingdom. She was 14 in the movie so even by the era of old europe, she wasnt quite ready for marrige. Marrige between royalty was a big deal so she might have already had a fiance, so there would have been loose ties to deal with there, and she couldnt marry just anyone...even princes needed to be carefully veted since was the single heir to the throne. The future of the kingdom would be on the line. Sure Im over thinking, but atleast its based on facts of how life was for royalty.
Not to burst a bubble. The curse was not broken by the prince (not in the original version and not how we know in later versions). it was done by accident by the dwarves themself. Different then the disney version the Queen tries various methods to kill the child. A bodice, a comb and the apple. Not sure if there is more would have to read the original story. The Grimm version that is. Yeah back to the Dwarves. So the apple worked sort of. It worked cause it went down in the wrong pipe. The Crystal coffin is a thing even in the original. During the part where the enshrined the coffin with SW in it they stumble and the thing hit the ground. It dislodged the apple piece and SW started to breath again.
There is even a different version of this with the prince. But there is no kiss, Nope in the prince version he takes to coffin from the Dwarves cause he loved SW more then everything and he stumbles and dislodged the apple piece. So yeah no kiss, just people to left feet.
Tbh, a lot of the Stories have some rather unflattering build ups and end. Sleeping Beauty for example. It was not the kiss of love that woke her. Sure it was a prince. After all during her coma nap time there where visitors and one took the chance to bed the Princess. She got two kids from it and one of them sucked the thorn out of her finger.
Imagine something like that for a disney movie. After all it would hit the modern audience cause the fairy tale back then was more to the truth then what disney and others did in the retelling.
Doesn’t matter because you don’t even have the seven dwarfs in this movie.
pssst! the writers didnt actually watch the movie
@@Dazecat11 Not to break your bubble but the original stories have nothing to do with the Disney versions. They take inspiration but their work is mostly unrelated to those adult concepts. Just like Cinderella's sisters didn't cut of their toes, Snow White was not 13 and her age gap with the prince is fake news, since they never even say their age on the movie and Disney never uses the original stories' ages (see Pocahontas!).
@@TadanGirl I do know. Disney is a free adaption that takes away the more graphic elemts for a rather younger audience. Also true with the fact that the originals are not realy suited for children. Or not the current version of the kids. That was a bit different many, many years ago.

Let us be very real here. In the original Disney movie, Snow White was just a girl minding her own business, at most dreaming about falling in love. Some person sees her as a threat and tries to have her killed. The person she gets to kill her can't do it so she runs away and finds the dwarves' place. She lives with them, still minding her own business. The evil person then seeks her out and tries to kill her herself and puts her in a magic coma. Other magic wakes her up. The badasses of that story are the 7 dwarves. They are the heroes. Disney is going to steal the valor of little people.
Yeah but they are DWARFS(dwarves?) Not little people. Lol this is so fucked up
Funfakt: the historical origins of the story weren't magical dwarves. They were little people. Well, little people, children, and other humans small enough to fit into the mines.
You can even find historic records showing the bright miners caps which influenced the design of the (human) dwarves in the movie. They weren't supernatural.
Its all feminist now. And we know how much women are attracted to small men.
@elijoseph1853 But Disney isn't (and never does) re-write the original fairy tale, they make live action versions of their own cartoons (which were only loosely based on the originals). Can you imagine if the internet and "modern audiences" existed back when those original cartoons were made? How much backlash would there have been complaining that they weren't following the source material?
@mdberg65 When you say Disney never "re-writes the original fairy tale," do you mean their animated films?
a) fairytales are often a combination of various folk tales, so the "original version" is hard to define precisely, and b) yeah, they do. Disney's Snow White skipped the part where she has her stepmother tortured in iron shoes, Cinderella's stepsisters didn't chop parts of their feet off, and Ariel didn't die at the end.
If you mean that Disney doesn't rewrite the fairy tale when making live action adaptations of their initial animated films, that's also not true. All their live action remakes have made changes, and they have done so since at least 1994. The closest to a shot-for-shot remake was the Lion King, which still changed, added, and removed elements. It was also boring as heck.
Audience critique of adaptation isn't just something that happens because of "modern audiences" on the internet. Pocahontas, Mulan, and Hercules all faced critique. The Mary Poppins film was disowned by the books' author.
I'm not here to defend Disney's creative choices, just point out that stories always change in the retelling. It's an unavoidable part of the storyteller, the audience, and the medium.
This is insane... how does Disney keep doing this? How do they never learn?

Seems about right
Exactly, the book gave an actual explanation and they just ignored it and it's supposed to be a new version of the original
The question that has been on my mind for more than ten years of these remakes is "Just who exactly is asking for this?" Because I don't know about anyone else, but I consider the original films to be masterpieces of storytelling and art and sound. They helped elevate animation as a medium and then they revived it after a nearly devastating slump, to the point where it is now considered on par if not outright superior to many live-action productions due to its endless potential. Why go to trash on all of that with a bunch of live-action adaptations that are inevitably going to suffer just because of limitations of the medium, never minding the intensity with which people and critics will pick the new films apart for transgressions against the originals which are almost universally beloved?
That they were masterpieces with strong moral messages, brilliant music and acting, is exactly the reason they are being remade the way they are. The total destruction of cultural hallmarks.
Probably the financiaers who funded their purchases of Marvel, Lucasfilm and Fox only to see Disney completely blow off both feet while trying to make Star Wars films and running their formerly-lucrative merchandising business into teh ground...
Couple that with SJW activists in HR and other departments who see everything non blue-haired or under 10 years old as 'problematic' (except children, of course...) and I think you have the answer.
'Normal' hubristic creativity screw-ups causing a dip in profitability, coupled with increased debt and therefore pressure to do "something, anything!" to right the ship and they turned to extremism as their answer.
It's basically 1930's Germany/the fall of Rome/English civil war in corporate form.
The only EXCEPTIONALLY WONDERFUL retelling of these great folklore's... was Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella... IF you haven't seen it... it's a MUST... a LOT of GREAT Downton Abbey folks in it... Kenneth Branagh should have done them all!!!
Cinderella was exceptional, every bit as beautiful as the original cartoon. I don’t understand how they didn’t pay closer attention to all of the elements put together which made it magical. It’s irritating because they seem to care far more about virtue signalling to the audience rather than just giving us a feast.

The dwarfs in Snow White were always mythical creatures (from Germanic folklore). The little people were the ones that took their designation from the mith, not the other way around.
Disney has completely lost any idea of what modern audiences really want to see.
You’d of thought it wasn’t that hard to work out. It’s a good movie but I don’t think Disney will be producing one of those any time soon
It's not about what the audience wants to see. It's about what Disney wants them to see. And - at least in Disney's mind - if they keep it up for long enough (ie "normalise" it) then they expect the Audience to want what Disney wants them to want......

I bet we learn that she doesn't need a man, because she identifies as both in the end...
It's funny because now a core part of the movie will never make sense unless they change the famous line. 'Fairest' refers to lightness, when the queen is asking who is the fairest she is asking who has the whitest skin. For the mirror to answer anything other than her, who will doubtlessly still be lily white, breaks logic in the story or makes a 'twist' interpretation too obvious. The 'twist' being that one way you can interpret what the mirror says is not just on physical description but virtue as well, which is proven true by Snow White's behavior. But this is subtext, it needs the obvious plausible cover that Snow White and the queen both have extremely pale beauty to even be plausible or the first time the magic mirror tells the queen snow brown is fairer than her she would just throw it out the window for being obviously wrong/not answering her question properly (she of course is only asking about looks because she's vain)
Edit: I guess Gal Godot is the queen, so the mirror should realistically just answer somebody else that's neither of them unless they change the line or portray Gal as paler than she actually is.
Don't call her 'snow brown' please
You really nailed the core issue of "modern" writers. It's the lack of values. I mean, just hear what the actress said to the question of putting a modern spin on the story and character, she was proud to say that the character won't be dreaming of love at all, but instead dreaming of being in a position of power ("the leader she always knew she could be"). To me this says it all.
What they did to the little mermaid it was beyond disgusting and no I will never forgive them for that, but what they doing to snow white is even worse because that was the princess who literally made Disney who they are today she’s the reason Disney even exists.

The writers strike seems to illustrate that they aren't hiring people based on merit and paying them well. They're getting people to pay peanuts, who think they're hard done by, despite having no talent
Indeed. I have zero sympathy for the "writers" of Hollywood. They are talentless hack frauds. At the same time, I have zero sympathy for the studios, by and large (especially Disney) because they are equally talentless hack frauds, who have been pumping out garbage for far too long now.
Let the whole of Tinsel Town crash and burn, I say. Then let them rebuild it from the ground up, with actual talented people at the helm. The foundations are rotten, the whole thing needs to come down.
They're hiring psychotics, because they want people that fit in with the rest of the nutcases.
Keep in kind the writers are writing what the studio wants.

@@Vashtstamped don't underestimate the ability of studio execs to turn everything into bs. The writers aren't good, but guess who hired them
You make a lot of great points in this rant. To me, the biggest mystery is why Disney's stockholders don't get together and throw Iger, the board of directors, and the management team out on their woke asses. The people have made their opinions about their brand of entertainment clear and the amount of money lost due to their malfeasance is astonishing, and possibly criminal.
The shareholders are mostly trans rich millionaires and their kids… I know this personally.

It’s hilarious. Look to the opening of the collider machine in Europe. Look to the rituals performed in Hollywood. This is about the destruction of this straight nonsense agenda . From the inside looking out, it will all seem rather strange to you people.
I remember watching Puss in the boots some months ago. It was "refreshing" to see a good movie. You have female and male characters that clearly were not added to fill a list of check boxes. No propaganda and stuff like that. Just fun and great experience. Plus it's a fairy tail type movie so you get these nice lessons at the end. Like Goldilocks realizing she had a family and them looking like bears doesn't change that. Disney takes their old creations that had stuff like that and were great experience then run it trough AI. Result is that you get movies like Peter Pan were he is just some fool and it's the "it's no boys magic" that beats pirates. This new movie just looks like Mud Brown and Seven Virtue Signalers.
Couldn't say it any better lol
. . . I might have to re-watch Puss in Boots.
Best part of watching that film was when I quite quickly picked up on the fact that big jack horner is basically a caracuture of Disney as a company and as a group of sad patheic people, and it fits all too well
Ah who am I kidding, that was only one of the best parts, love that opening song!
Define propaganda. Name one concept that disney has pushed which hasn't been completely contradicted by their actions, and shown not to be propaganda but as a contrivance to increase their audience size IN RESPONSE TO an increasing awareness amongst people which has occurred without their input.
Disney clearly hates its audience. It's not like they don't have a diverse cast of princesses. There's Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Moana, most of the voice actors The Lion King, and more. The only explanation for race swapping Ariel and now, Snow White, is they simply hate their audience.
leftist ideology also sees white cultural things as more valuable. they don't care about non-white fictional characters, they rather swap a white one and then say "you guys should be happy, we gave you one of ours!"
And, i'm sorry, why are 3 of the 7 "dwarves" black, as well? Why are they always sp preposterously overrepresented? One out of 7 would still actually be overrepresentation(14.3%), let alone 3(43%). It's almost like it's an agenda.
nah, the reason is white people bad
It's about pushing the neo-lib agenda & gaslighting people who criticise them.
It's all one big gaslighting practice.
They sure do hate white people, and straight people.
In the old version on my bookshelf, the dwarfs save the princess by keeping her alive in glass and finding the prince to wake her (who by the way is not sought by snow white at all, he basically gets roped in by the little people, so its not nearly as “someday my prince “ at all). You could make a very interesting modern story with agency and heroism by the dwarfs.
That said I really am curious, how will they maintain the “girls don’t have jealousy” but when literally the entire central problem is the queen is jealous of the princess’s beauty.
My guess is Snow White will have magical powers or something. The queen will want to know who is most powerful of all. Spoiler, it's Snow White lol
No, I bet the queen will just be "MiSuNdErStOoD" and in the end will defeat the "evil misogynist" prince who tried to force himself on the innocent Snow White and then, because she is just sooooo likeable, the "re-imagined" queen will fall in love with Snow White herself and be the one to kiss her awake in the end.
Edit: On second thought, I'd give that a watch if it had a *higher rating* if you know what I mean.
White queen confirmed.
@@TwistedTeaRexThat's basically the Malificent plotline tho 😂
Given that the Queen is Gal Gadot, and she's jealous of Snow White's _beauty_ , it might be about "women living in delusion".
These actors are delusional. They see a love interest and completely forget about any of the strength of character, independence, struggle, and feminine power of the characters they're "updating." Little mermaid and snow white are both very strong, easy to look up to women. Being in love is not a weakness!
I havent given Disney a dime in years, and I never will again. The only problem, is that people are still interested in what disney is up to. Who cares, never forget or forgive all the betrayals they have done to children and families.
Casual reminder that just like in the Peter Pan and wendy movie, they're just ignoring vital information about the characters for the sake of diversity. There's not a soul Alive who doesn't know they Snow White was named such because her skin was white as snow. Just like the only reason the lost boys were all boys was because girls were too smart to become lost. And that lack of girls is the reason Peter took wendy, to be their mother after hearing her description of a mother.

Snow brown and the 7 new age travellers? If this is what they've reduced the story to, why bother even using the story to begin with? They could easily have written this about a new character and prehaps gained fans for it. I really don't understand their thought process here.
Rewriting history, basically. They didn't like what came before so they're going to completely rewrite it to where it serves their goals and their agendas instead. It's not about respecting what came before, but getting rid of it because they can't stand its existence.
Caucasian deletion pure and simple
People of European/Caucasian descent aren't important and therefore race swapping is completely fine according to Hollywood and a lot of black people I've talked to online.
It's not about creation. It's about destruction.

These writers think regular moviegoers care primarily about inclusivity, equity, empowerment and diversity, when all we really want is a good story and strong character development. It's reflexively eyeroll-inducing to hear yet again the tired trope of re-adapting 'for a modern audience.'
But Im actually loving it. This is comedy gold. 😅
They must know by now that people dislike this forced inclusivity
They do it for ESG investements
The writers don't think anything. They are quite bereft of creativity and barely literate. They can, however, regurgitate the slogans of the manifesto that passed for their education. Disney, like the others, is simply hostage to the monopoly that finds such obedient apery profitable. The only thing that can be said in their defense is that the Trojan horse looked so vulnerable and marginalized outside the gates. Gets cold at night.
Yep, the last thing I want to see when I'm off work is another diversity video.
That’s so true, I don’t want to be fed complex social issues and have my movie entirely based on equality and fairness, I just want to be bloody entertained and not have to worry about social issues for a while
They do all this for awards and ground breaking entertainment, the truth is they don't care at all.
IF they did then where is the wheelchair Disney Princesses?
Where are African stories from days gone by?
Where are the movies about black super heroes? Even the one movie Hancock had all the possibility of a squeal and never got made, even though it was a good movie. Why is that?
I'll tell you why. Black super heroes don't exist in Hollywood, even Black Panther was done to appease black people's wants, even the second movie flopped.
Hollywood is racist and also dead from the neck up.
“Lips red as the rose, hair black as ebony, skin white as snow.”
Nailed it...
Listening to her describe how this Snow White is different, it made me think of Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman. Both versions had Snow White fight against the queen and I dont think either were "saved" by a prince. I dont understand this trend of girl boss, "I can do it by myself, I don't need a man" attitude. Humans are social creatures and we like to feel loved and love in return. Maybe if we put that back into storytelling, it would help the skyrocketing mental health crisis to come down.
When "superhero fatigue" encompasses "Indiana Jones fatigue", "Little Mermaid fatigue", etc, the superhero part might not be the problem.

Then the girl tries to live peacefully in hiding, but her step-mother tracks her down and makes several more attempts to kill her... The prince is barely in the story.

Their struggle is real! The catering department doesn’t even freshly shuck their oysters anymore! We must stand beside them now more than ever. Why soon Disney will run out of classic animated movies to remake! If nobody watches their movies and they don’t have any writers how will we get live action politically enhanced remakes of classic Japanese animated movies like Spirited Away!?
Always be careful when they say a classic is being remade for "modern" audiences.
Yup. They're referring to their fellow Narcissists - The 'Woke' Narc.
Disney 'Woke' Narcs and Sociopaths will feel a bond with Black Narcissists, Islamic Narcs, Female Narcs, Transgender Narcs...and all the groups high in 'Narcissist Personality Disorder'.
(AKA The Guardian readership - 'Narcissist Central' in Psychology).
They're intentionally releasing flops. There's no way it's not on purpose with so many flops in a row and continuing to do so with no regards as to why they were flops. The only thing to save the company is for the investors to get together and fight against the management of Disney. Unless everyone gets a big payout from bankruptcy.
I'm not sure wether releasing flops is intentional. I think they genuinly consider those movies and series they released to be top class entertainment. Now this is a bit of speculation on my part but indulge me for a second:
I think that a large part of this whole debacle comes down to excessive inclusity training programs. Hollywood is by the very definition of their trade an extremly publicity oriented entity. And with the rise of third wave feminism, the BLM movement, Me too etc extremly publicity oriented entities had to be extremly careful with what they produce because negative publicity can literally destroy them. So they hired all kinds of trainers and forced their staff to go through programs to make them more aware and more opposed to stuff like racism, sexism etc etc. However, unfortunatly programs such as these, especially in the early days, tend to be developed and run by what amounts to be activists and activists tend towards rather extreme positions. And since matters as such sexism and racism are inherintly divisive this lead to Hollywood slowly getting encapsuled in a bubble.
You forget one crucial point: time. Disney is a massive ship, even if they wanted to (and with the current helmsmen and Captain there is no way) it would take them at least 2 years to turn…all of the current movies have started Production roughly around the Same time with the same agenda. It’s like the titanic ramming the iceberg….which is no excuse, just an explenation 🤷🏼♂️
I suspect that they’re just doing it to hold onto their IP - hence all the remakes. There’s no way that they can be making such bad movies on purpose.
It’s because private citizens bought out meme-stocks like AMC. Hollweird and Dismay (Disney) wants to get bought out by Bl@ckrock and some CCP styled elements.
@@justanotherhappyhumanist8832 Absolutely right. It's being done to hang onto the copyright rights. (Just like the Batgirl movie was). They do realize there are black (african) legends, myths, tales, etc, right? Like they can do what Disney did with European tales like Snow White and other Brother's Grim type stuff and produce films based on those other culture's tales. They can do it with native tales. They can do it with south american tales. with asian tales....

It's not laziness... It's hypocrisy. They absolutely know these mythologies exist and they also believe they won't make the money back. That's why they don't make them, which makes them the same kinda racists as the people they're always crying about.
Its literally because they have no talent, so they choose to gender-swap and race-swap existing characters, and then they advertise all about how they are such good people that are righting the wrongs of the past, etc... just complete Bullsht that a scary number of people have bought into and support their content, in reality these untalented writers and producers should be getting almost nothing in return because CASTING is the biggest part of what they produce, their writing, the plot, characters, everything else is complete garbage, its just them casting race-swapped and gender-swapped stuff and advertising it as some big positive progressive thing they have worked hard to make.

The absolute best action remakes are the ones that try to reenact the story scene by scene as close as possible. Characters looking exactly as we remembered the cartoons, being thrilled when they found an actor that brought your nostalgia to life. What the hell is so hard to understand about that model???
When you're committed to propagandizing an entire generation, why would you care about making a quality product?
100% agree! And think how much money they could save! Casting? Grab a screen shot of the character & put out a call for everyone who looks like that. Script? Grab a copy of the original & maybe add a few scenes with backstory & re-write stuff you can't do in real life. Filming? You've already got a story board of the entire movie, except for maybe a few scenes too hard to do in reality. THAT'S what people want, to see their favorite cartoon performed by live people. How many times did fans gush because the ballroom scene in live action Beauty & the Beast matched so well with the cartoon?

And you don’t seem to appreciate 2 key things about Universal. One, yes they can survive on Theme Parks alone. The Theme Parks bring in an order of magnitude more money than the movies. For both Universal and Disney. But with Universal, even the theme parks are secondary to their cable/telecom business. Universal = Comcast. Funny thing is even when people “cut the cord” they don’t cut the internet. And following some splits Universal is fairly low right now. They are well diversified. It's amazing how Disney pivoted from making the same story about a disney princess finding the true love (with different window dressing) to making the same story about a modern wahman that finds her girlboss powers and girlbosses all over the place.
I'm pretty offended by the blatant messaging that women can be 'anything' except happy. Snow White expresses a desire, she has agency, nobody is forcing her to do what she does and her dream one day is to be 'happily ever after' with someone she loves and who loves her back. It is her actions and kindness to the dwarves that cause them to rally in her defense, which she does not force them to do. She brings joy into their lives and a womanly touch missing from their otherwise male, work focused activities and in return they protect and fight for her in the end. In the Disney version she's going to swoop in and just whip these minorities into shape and girlboss everywhere and for what purpose will they invent? The character's stated goals are said to be a problem and removed from the movie, so now they need to find something else and I doubt they even will. So that means the new character's goal is self-gratification. She girlbosses to show off that she can and whips people around and under her heel and control just for dominance with no objective. She'll be a selfish tyrant.
The original movies were good enough. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Move on and make something new!

It has to be intentional at this point.
I thought it always was...
Ya think?!
Notice they're only doing this to European culture. It just happens to coincide with demographic replacement in our own countries. This is a civilizational struggle.
They are quite vocal about their intentions.
ESG
no shii it is
those who havent figured that out several remakes ago is lacking in the brain department
_The Lady and the Tramp_ gets a sensitivity warning because of the Siamese Cat Song. _Fantasia_ (one of the best things to come out of early Disney) and the original _Peter Pan_ get warnings slapped on them for similar reasons.
I hope they don't miss out on the opportunity to dedicate 15 minutes of the plot to have Snow White and the 7 special magic people learn each others gender and pronouns.
I assume the entire lecture will be on gender identity.
"Modern Audience" and writing are the two biggest problem with modern films. If there is a group that should lose their job, it is the producers and writers. They are the problem.
This is why the strike matters all these diversity hire writers will not make it. The qualified talented writers who dont fit the "modern prpgressive diverse" box will weather the storm and still be there. Ppl w/o talent will never last through
And the actors, burn them all. I can guarantee you as long as I live, it doesn’t matter who pays the bills, if you have Viola Davis as ANY part of your production, it’s a HARD no from me.
The list of woke zealots is LONG.
Well, obviously the bosses that hires them are also to blame.
@@captaintoyota3171 Historically opposite already happened. The good writers got bullied out by the welfare group since you can't claim your failures are environmental and not your fault when you have a selfmade women next to you only producing hits.
I think this strike might bring change and get rid of this “woke” bs
I liked it better when actors and actresses were nebulous and had an air of mystery and intrigue to them. The less I learn about a movie through the celebrity themselves, the more likely I am interested in seeing the movie.
Congratulations to Kristen Stewart, "Snow White and the Huntsman" is no longer the dumbest adaptation of that stuff
They could’ve gave her white hair, eyes, clothing, or even jewelry. Just something to justify the name. Both Snow and White could even be veered into baby blue or even clear, but they didn’t do it. If they say her soul or spirit is pure as snow, I’m gonna laugh my head off.😂
In the Once Upon a Time TV show Snow was named for the great blizzard that happened during her birth. I have a feeling Disney will just reuse that.
Well She does have white teeth 😬
@@andy-floriplay-time7366 As an infant? Also, they cast mean b*tch to play one of the sweetest, most polite, and nicest princesses of all.
Whenever someone says "we should be on the right side of history" it just says to me "my brainwashed opinion over a subjectively bad situation is correct, and you're wrong!" Then they proceed to cup their ears and go "lalalalala I can't hear you!"
You know what? Everybody says they hate subversion of expectations in Hollywood, but I for one would love it if they ACTUALLY subverted my expectation by respecting the IP, respecting the fans and making a good product.
I know the movie hasn't come out yet, but it seems like that will be the case with Barbie, and that's why people are so excited. Margot robbie actually looks like barbie and is full on embracing it, they're not trying to change anything about the legacy of the character or what she represents. I hope the film is actually good and i'm not left disappointed
Not with someone like Zegler who has no knowledge or respect for a character and their storyline
I don't want to sound rude and hate on Zegler, but I'm honestly tired of this woke era and these remakes of masterpieces representing politics rather than their original storylines and in the end being trashed
@@aoifegodwin-coombs2741 You aren't 'rude or hating' because you strongly dislike Zegler and what she represents.
@@Fachhhi Margot Robbie was 10000x better in OUATIH from Terentino. This "Barbie" thing was insane political insanity. Not a well done 'movie' in the least.
hold on...finding true love? I thought snow white was about a little girl escaping murder
If Disney wants to keep trying to please the 15% of the population who want classics "reimagined", then can keep enjoying only getting money from that 15% of the population!! But that doesn't seem like it could sustain a multi billion dollar company!!😂😂
Don't buy anything from them, dont support them please
It's less than 15%, especially globally
It's less than 15%, and if you consider that part of that percentage prefers the original tale and not wanting to be an exploited mascot, it's even less than that.
🤔🤷♂️. People talking about how Bob Iger wants to change the direction of Disney are crazy. Bob Iger is the reason Disney is in the shape it is now. Disney is WOKE BECAUSE OF IGER and clearly they are not changing direction because they just gave Iger another contract until 2026. If Bob Iger or the people who run Disney wanted to change from the wokeism they are currently pushing they would have done it by now. But I knew they never wanted to change direction that's why they kept Iger on passed 2024. If Disney wanted to change direction they would have replaced Iger and not gave him a new CEO contract 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️......
The Grim Brothers recorded a lot of German folklore tales. And some would fit in the "enlightened" narrative Disney want to sell. I really don't understand why they have to mangle up a story more, that was already mangled up by Disney?
I really get the feeling that it isn't about making things better but destroy everything people enjoy. "If i can't have it no one can!"
Totally agree. The problem is that they are trying to fix the problems by throwing money at it but all that means is that they are giving incompetent people a lot more money. The strikes are really about the same problem from the other side - incompetent people in the wrong positions cause issues from top to bottom. They really should use the strikes to start from scratch - get rid of everyone and get competent people in to pick more competent people while filtering out the problems and start making good shows and films again.
I can't remember who it was, it might have been yellow flash, but i've heard them described as the "7 portland hipsters"
I can tell you exactly why I, personally, stopped watching Western entertainment at large. I stopped being interested in being lectured to, the stories and characters weren't interesting enough to hook me, and I decided my time and money was better spent elsewhere. My parents agree, they love the K-dramas they've been watching. Disney has quite literally turned machines that allow them to print money into firepits into which they actively dump their money.
My aunt loves her K-dramas! I've been watching more Japanese shows, and reading more manga. It's great to just enjoy a fun story for what it is, without the politics shoved down your throat.
Its nice, isn't it? Most of my viewing is anime and I am laughing over this whole thing. The only ones who get my sympathy are the people that actually make the movies. Not the directors, not the producers, and not the actors. It's everyone else involved that actually matters.
Also? F*k agents. Nothing but money grubbing weasels. If it's like this in real estate, I can only imagine how bad it must be in Hollywood.
Like I said before... with their cashflow problems and the upcoming Hulu purchase being TODAY's problems and the foreseeable future disasters of things like Snow White, and The Marvels, coupled with the sustained unprofitability of Disney + and the anemic park cashflow... I bet Apple ends up buying Disney
Heh, wonder if Comcast is paying Iger under the table to screw over Disney so that they can take the whole thing over . . . not that there will be much to take over in a little while.
I'd laugh so hard if George Lucas would end up buying disney🤣. But everyone will do, really.
@@lightborn9071 I secretly hope Apple buys it so John Lassiter can give Bob Iger a nice long "welcome to the family" hug. 😁
At this point is hard to ignore the possibility the stock price is being driven down for that very reason
Really enjoy Disparu talk facts and hit on points of failure in Hollywood, more please!!!!
