The pigeon book has me so curious even though I'm an adult 😂
They’re awesome books lol
Look up the author Mo Willems! There’s a whole series of picture books with Pigeon. Willems also does funny early-reader/ ER books called Piggie and Elephant that have won some awards. But my favorite book of his is “Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs” 😁
There so good 😂 lol
the drawing is adorable
100% came here to say I want to see that pigeon drive that bus!
that dinner actually looked really appetizing lol
7 year old boy diet
@@tomney4460 Okay, let's see *you* foster (potentially SEVERELY traumatized) kids while also making "normal" meals at the same time -_-
@@S0RNG no need for this anger. I’m just saying that 7 year olds do tend to be very picky.
@@tomney4460 Ah, apologies... you seemed to come off as condescending/rude, so my first thought was to defend the channel poster 😅
@@S0RNG I’m sorry if I seemed that way!
Some people would say that being a foster parent is hard but in reality I'm sure it is a difficult job (and this is coming from a foster child) but you have an amazing system in place and you give everyone exactly what is good for them whilst keeping some time for yourself so thank you for all the work you do to help these young people (sorry if my comment didnt make much sense lol)
I love how you both help equally and make sure the kids are taken care of ❤
getting major nostalgia with "dont let the pigeon drive the bus"
Wow. Our dynamics are much different. I'm a full time engineer working remotely from home. Wife is full time mom. We homeschool our 2 bio sons. And we currently have 3 foster girls under 5. All sisters. About 10 days into being foster parents and I've spent most of my time in PCP office visits, 1 urgent care visit, and one ER visit. Thankfully I got 15 days off from my employer to help get things adjusted. Love your content. Thanks for making it.
I am chronically ill but I could see myself doing this one day, with the right support system. Thanks for sharing, it’s hard for me to imagine the typical goals for myself but I hope I can work from home and pursue my interests (rescue animals)
This is probably not what you were intending to be the focal point of the video but I love those little trays and _that couch_ 😍
You guys are such wonderful people it's so reassuring and hopeful to know that there are some foster parents out there that really care about the kids and really take care of them thank you so much for all the work you and your husband do it's so inspiring you two are angels on Earth!
I LOVE the division of labor.
My husband and I are getting started with the foster care licensing process in our state! Any advice? Thanks for making such amazing and educational content!
Don't give up. It's hard. Every case is different, you may not agree with the legal system, reunification can be frustrating when the scenario is not ideal, and LOVE HARD. You will be a lasting memory, even if you feel like you were only there for a blink of an eye. ❤ You are making the right choice.
Looks like a lovely day! I love the Mo Willems books, they have a fun but gentle tone to them.
Wow! You both do an amazing job! Who does the cooking? When do you fit in cleaning and laundry? I find the videos about your life to be so interesting and uplifting. Thank you for what you do for these children and for educating others!
You have so many great ideas ❤ My kiddos have grown up w the Pigeon series as an added connection bonus ❤ They LOVED interacting w the book as Littles. Even my previously non-verbal (HE TALKS NOW OMG!!) kiddo would shake his head or sign NO. Great series!
Please will you Foster me for a week? I'd love the care and attention you deliver to your fosterkiddos.
I’m so glad you shared reading time. So many kids never have books read to them outside of school.
Thanks for sharing your day with us! You're one of my favorite creators! 💜
Wow. Take my hat off to you both. I've never fostered and have an adult son but I love watching you tiktoks, so informative and done in such a loving way. I learn alot.x
Lol, you living in the USA ( I guess) having a "France" mug in this video. Me living in France watching this video with my "America" mug..
You r so wonderful as a couple! Educating so many on how to be just a great human being in relationship to others!
You are simply a beautiful inspiring human. ❤️
You are an inspiring person and family. Each and everyone of those kiddos is lucky :)
I'm fascinated to know what business you run from home. I'm a busy mom who needs a change in income. I can't keep up these 47hr work weeks away from the kiddos
We love the pigeon books too!
Your channel and you and your husband are just G*d-sent. I wish you all the best. ❤❤
Sounds like yall have a great system! I love ❤ that hubby splits with you and the kids probably have special bonds with both, which is really great 👍.
You are so sweet to your kids.❤
Thank you for doing what you do!!
I love that pigeon book!!!!
Your videos are really amazing, thank you for sharing 🥰
Amazingly Terrific Foster Parenting ❤️ It
Your videos are always so nice.
That’s a full life ❤ Thanks for making content!
Yesss more of these videos please
😊♥️
You guys are way better organised and equipped to take care of children than the vast majority of bio parents. That's incredible and sad at the same time.
Everyone talking about the books and dinner and I’m over here wondering what the middle shower faucet thing does
😂
Don't let the pigeon drive the bus was my favorite series omg
Thankyou for sharing.
My mom wanted to give me away to the foster care and anything to do to get rid of me, cause I refuse to go to school in the morning, hide in the bathroom during school time, I been going to psychologists during school hours where I get picked up from school and I had small amount of medication for adhd, I failed 4th grade cause it was hard for me then I was homeschooled in 5th grade but then my mom she wanted to withdrawn me from homeschool because she wanted me to graduate without cheating in homeschool assignments and tests and she doesn’t care that students and teachers bully me and avoid me cause I am quiet and shy and have autism and avoid crowds and sitting alone in the classroom feeling scared of people and can’t make eye contact cause I just can’t cause of severe anxiety disorder that makes me refrain from socializing. What she told me was ‘If you hated me, then why didn’t you tell me from the beginning. I didn’t hate her I just hated school and want to drop out soon as possible and find other careers that doesn’t include with high school diploma or college diploma cause I know I will fail school and college cause I am scared of getting bullied cause I don’t have friends and mostly at home and have a boring life.
You are my hero. You'll be seeing me at foster parents stuff soon, I'm sure!
It’s so cool the cups have built in straws!
A what a team!!
I recently realised my calling is to be a foster parent when i'm in a position to do so. I started studying occupational therapy recently and really hope that some of this will translate to also being useful in supporting foster kids as well 🙂 Thank you for the amazing and gentle content-I have some trauma-informed training behind me, but there is nothing like the practicality of what you're showing us to support young people 🩵
Huge respect to you guys
Love watching your typical day!!
middle of the night wake-ups? ohhh wait, you mean when the lid wakes up in the middle of the night.
iDK why i thought you were waking the kids up in the middle of the night to feed or for some other reason. 🤦🏾♀
sounds well-structured + balance. lucky kids! 🖤🤙🏾
She sometimes fosters babies that’s why
Also with some babies (usually failure to thrive babys) you have to wake them up to feed!
Those trays are so cute!!
You two are a cute couple!
Don't let the pigeon drive the bus. Top tier book there. I used to read it with my foster bro all the time.
I love your sofa! & your content 💜✌🏽
don’t let the pigeon drive the bus is such a nostalgic book omg-
Omg your plates are amazing😁😁 where did you get them from
My daughter loves that book!!
My little cousin read me that pigeon book lol 😂 it was cute.
YOU ARE AMAZING!
For some reason I never thought about you having an actual job, I just subconsciously assumed you were “foster parent” 😂
God Bless you and your Husband. Since finding your channel you've helped me so much as a parent.
How to you handle obstinate pre teen? He's testing limits. But I'm suck once he stands in place and just responds no. Turned off the internet a week ago when he thought he could stay up till 11PM. We are consistent on schedule and bedtime. He sat in the dark room till 11 with nothing! Stubborn doesn't begin to describe it.
Yikes. Sounds like you're giving him a really hard time. There's nothing wrong with a kid staying up til 11pm.... kids shouldn't "go to bed" if they're not sleepy or tired. My parents never gave me a bedtime. They put me in extracurricular activities (gymnastics/tennis) which are pretty physically demanding, so I'd pretty much crash when I got home. Maybe take that approach instead, get him into soccer or track or ceramics, or some other activity he could do 3 times a week after school.
unrelated but when i was a child i loved those penguin books, i even recreated them using a pencil and printer paper 😂
It's like you have he night shift and he has the morning shift.
I use the same shampoo and conditioner!
And… cute couple! ❤❤❤
Check out the book called piggies in the kitchen! It is the cutest thing!
I think I just woke my child up yelling "Ma'am what is the middle tap!?" your shower has.... 3 Taps????
I wanna know what the third one is too. Like, I wouldn’t think it’s a diverter for a tub, but is it a shower with a ceiling mounted shower head too, that that sends it up there? Or is it just decorative, or something else entirely?
One for hot water. One for cold water. One switches from tub to shower.
Great video! What was that puppy dog on the couch between you and hubby? A warmie?
God bless you
I'm actually in Foster care and just moved and I wished that moved to you 😊😊😊
How often do you get moved and why do some kids get moved? Dont answer if your not comfortable im just curious is all
Those are good meal trays, they keep the food separate LIKE IT SHOULD BE.
After how long, one person and their partner start looking that much alike. Thought it was you in the corner... with short hair 👌
Honestly, being a foster parent seems like a full-time job in itself. I don't know _how_ you'd have time for an actual full-time job on top of that...! 😵💫
just like a mom who works outside the home
I had those cups growing up, been trying to find some lately
I love that! Question, how do you handle a child with self destructive habits such as nail biting/hair pulling?
Those are usually anxiety based. If you teach other coping behaviors and relieve the anxiety, they usually stop, unless they're more of an OCD thing instead of an anxiety one. Then I got no idea
Sauce: I'm 22.5 and I've bitten my nails daily since I was 5, diagnosed with SAD and GAD 🙃
@@madisonwillis9591 Ayo, I'm 13 and have also been diagnosed with SAD and GAD :)
The reason I'm asking these questions is because my nail biting (ik I'm not all kids) has evolved into ripping nails off and hair pulling has evolved to bald spots
@@madisonwillis9591 And I wanna know how she would handle it
@@AlternateJelly fair enough. I haven't found anything that works for me yet unfortunately, but I'm not to the point of ripping off nails or anything, just hang nails and biting them and the skin and stuff.
I wish you luck and happy holidays 💙
@@AlternateJelly one thing that has helped some people is fidgets, especially ones like stretchy squish balls where you can pull the little hair/tentacle things and fidget cubes, infinity cubes, and monkey noodles . I also personally find that I like my nails short for sensory reasons, so personally I keep my nails trimmed short enough that I don't have the desire to bite them. Nail polish might also help, if you like having fun polish on your nails (especially something like decals that I can't easily do again made me want to keep them in tact as long as possible). Another option is something you can have in your mouth instead, be it gum, skittles, etc.
I only ever bit my nails, so I'm not sure how helpful any of these are, but these are things I've used over the years.
Y'all make a great pair.
Thanks
First I thought - hey, the kids go to school, aren't they sleeping through - then I remembered, we are talking about traumatized* children here. Of course they wake up somewhere in the night, usually from a nightmare.
*No matter how they got in foster care: Death of parents, abusive parents, parents that were themselves not stable and need to find their way first etc. etc.
How many children do you currently have? Love your videos.
Maybe your day....as a foster family, too? Both an observation and a request for content with that language in some of your videos! 💜
Shes not gonna show the kids. shes the only one ive seen do family content without blasting their kids online and i respect her so much because of it
@@kelsey2333 which is great. She is so good at describing, in a way that imagines the other person in the conversation! Just hearing how a 'day in the life of' sounds like was what I was trying to describe.
Great parenting!
This is just a random idea but I use this app called Calm to help me fall asleep and it has a section for kids and has not only sleep stories but mediations also! ❤❤❤
I wish there were more creators that did family content without ever showing a child. I am interested in what people do for meals, activities, a lot of stuff like that, but I dont think anyone should put their child's image and private life online, and it's very annoying for me sometimes to look for content like that because almost everyone does a lot of content showing the children.
Omg my exact thoughts. So many people dont realize how messed up it is to broadcast your kid online and make money off it. They cant consent they are to young
Hello, i really like what you do.
Would you be willing to tell us how you decided to become a foster parent? Thank you
I have a genuine question for you. Do you say “I love you” to your foster kids? I feel like that could make them a lot more attached and make reunification with their families more difficult, but at the same time it’s really important for them to know that they are cared for and loved by you.
Helloooo I am #100
Can you do what you would do if you were currently fostering teenagers?
Are kids put in homes in their school zone? If they are put in a home not in their original school zone do they transfer or just stay?
It depends, sometimes they transfer, if the foster parents are willing to drive them then they can stay!
How do you manage your job with daytime interruptions from kids struggling in school or pre school-aged kids?
I was wondering how you introduce both Foster parents to the foster kid?
Hey just outta curiosity what does middle of the night wake up and feedings mean y’all might think I’m loose for asking but I don’t think I’ve heard that before
Babies that need feeding through the night, or kids who have nightmares.
Your awesome thanks:)
How do you have time to fully care for the kids and dedicate all the time it takes to film, edit etc for online content? I’m sincerely asking for tips.
Why do you feed them during the night?
What is a normal length of stay at Your house!
Have you adopted any of the kids you fostered?
Probably not. A lot of people are against adoption.
What would it look like if you hade a teen or a older kid
Are you in contact with their school and teachers during the time you have them?
That's a good question! I'm wondering as well. And who goes to events at the school like plays etc, and who goes to parent teacher conferences?
I think she touched on this in part 1 of “what it’s like to be a foster parent”
When did you go from working to self employed?
What does night include? Are the kids very young?
What about during weekends?
What about older kids in foster care?
You don't have to answer this by any means, but how would you react if a foster child decided to come out to you as lgbtq+. If you don't want to answer I understand.
She has a video up about ways to show a foster child that you are a safe place for LGBT+.
How many foster children do you usually have at once
Not really related to the video but i am so curious why the shower had three taps. What foes the thord tap do?
One for hot water. One for cold water. One switches from tub to shower.
@@peepslostsheep
Oh makes sense, thank you!
What are middle of the night wakeups?
When the kids wake up in the night, eg a baby needing to be fed or a older kid having a nightmare (very common for foster kids as there's gonna be trauma).
