I've decided to buy an second hand 2.3lt donner diesel engine, advertised "only covering 95k" from an reputable ebay seller for only £600 including delivery!
In this episode, not so much of an rough step by step guide "on how to fit the new engine into the gen 3 2005 Iveco Daily" . But! More of an vanlife dairy through out the following days.

I did mine decades ago on a Ford 3 litre V6 engine and gearbox out on my own with no cover driveway AND it was snowing like hell, -4 C got the engine out in 2 days on my own but spent 3 days putting all back together and laying on my back frozen stiff trying to get the gearbox back in place as the splines were gouged. Its a true test of physical and mental strength under those conditions never to be repeated so my hat goes off to you Mark.
Not an job I'd like to do again, the rain certainly didn't help 🤔, at least it's all running great now, thank you bud 😎👌👍👍👍.
I doff my cap to you Mark, your patience and determination appears to know no bounds ... but I guess when you are so far in you have no choice, the good stuff will be so satisfying when you get to use the van ... the end is in sight 👍🏼😉

i have to admire your tenacity, I changed a front caliper recently and had exactly the same last thought. Well done that was quite a job,especially working alone and filming it . Not sure I want to attempt mine even though I would love the finished standard👍👍

Errrm there's 3 on the engine bud, part one of this, and burning oil I think I titled it🤔, basically the engine was smoking when I bought the van, but thinking it was just the turbo at the time (due to the symptoms), how wrong was I 😂. I'm down in Skeggy on Thursday, meeting up with the Boondockers 😎👍👍👍.

Hat's off, a big job nicely done. Should help a lot in the future in case there are mechanical issues that you know every nut and bolt on this thing, not at the mercy of any garages. Hopefully it will never need work again though...

No really, the chassis of Mercedes could make a bit of rust around the wheel arches a serious problem on the MOT.
Whilst the ladder chassis on our Iveco makes a bit of rust on the wheelarches pass it like a F35 on steroids over the UK. 😂
I know mine did till the rust got as far as the supporting angles around it.
Got some iron folded over them and it passed again😜 bit of zinkspray did the rest.
Love to meet up someday, maybe on Camp Quirky next year, love to do that.

Now we just have to wait and see if there will be something like new tickets for us.

The service book lists a custom lift bracket for the engine. Because its such a PITA to load into the engine bay.
You looked proper done in at the end of that 😐😞 Well done on getting it fixed, hopefully you won't have to do that again 👍😊

@@Iveavan I'm just starting my 1st conversion 2004 relay 2.8 hdi been stood for 10 years so only 72,000 miles but a lot of welding required and oil belts an prob most other things why do we do it to ourselves 🙄🙄😂😂 👍👍

That's why I got Spunky in (for the 240v side) the 12v side and rest of the build I managed to complete myself, but to be fair, I've been an Field Engineer for 30 years now 😉👍👍👍.

Got 2litre diesil ford transit mark6.
Everytime I start it up.after 15 minutes she shuts of.have to leave tell next day.then same again.any ideas.ive replaced crank sensor.?

Hi mate, just wondered how to remove the fan clutch, any advice would be greatly appreciated, great video, I can now see how to get the front end off, thanks, Chris.
To be honest I only ever removed the full unit upon its mount. Isn't there one bolt that goes through the "Electro Magnetic fan clutch" and a large nut? You have to remove inorder to pull the clutch off 🤔👌👍.

Yes that's right bud, when I bought the van the condenser was rotten/holed, so it had no gas init, I haven't got around recharging the air con up yet matey 😉👌👍👍👍.

Are these heavy on diesel being a 5 speed up and down motorways
Motor way use, your probably looking at around 30mpg to 35mpg mark, Town use, looking around 25mpg 👌👍.

If its coming up with the injection light you're going to need to plug it into a diagnostic machine to see what the fault is 😉👍.
