I am a Bahamian living here in USA, I am a registered nurse and I have had many insults including I don't want a black nurse, but the worst was when. I white patient tried to throw a dirty wash cloth that she had whipped her bottom with after she pooped, she throw it aiming at my face. I had to walk out before I struck her. I wept for this model, but I also think she is very brave as well!

Yes, Fumi! Defend her. Wrong is wrong. People absolutely understand what is being said emotionally in other languages. I was once in a room with Chinese government officials with a Chinese-American friend. They treated me like I was not a human - more like a speck of dirt that did not dignify noticing. For my Chinese-American friend: they asked what her name was. Then they started mocking her and calling her stupid and making sport of her for her accent and 'not being able to pronounce her own name.' All of this was done in Chinese, and I understood perfectly, despite not speaking it myself. My friend confirmed later that I had understood. Language does not erase understanding.

I never bought one piece from Zara because from the time they opened a store here in the US they have been stealing designs from small designers on Etsy. No it was not just the Kardashians steeling from small Etsy designers it was Zara too. As a designer/Artist I just can not stand by and watch them steal designs and the Etsy designers get paid nothing or don't even get acknowledged.

When I was younger my modeling agency wanted to send me to Paris for a shoot, but I turned it down. I just never trusted it would go ok. My Parents didn’t offer to go with me and I wasn’t comfortable going alone. I also had a photographer use a photo of me for an ad on TV for a modeling agency without my permission. When I complained I hadn’t been asked the ad was pulled.

I have experienced it a lot in my younger years, saddest part it was from my peers (black people, some were the same complexion as me). Just ignore the ignorance and learn to love the skin that you're in. Lucky for me I had two women in my life to look up to, my first eldest cousin, she was beautiful and my mother who always told me that I was beautiful. Her nickname for me was glamour girl and I stood tall in that. Love yourself and others will have no choice but to respect you. I hope that helps. 💖

God created us with the skin we are in, so we should love it!! I believe her story because this group is not the only one doing the same thing. Go to most nail salons. Thank you, Fumi, for taking a stand. I will also not shop there until they address it. I also heard they have a code name for black people that they think are shoplifting at their stores.
A security guard said they were told follow the Black people only. I guess they believe we’re suspicious or profile us as shoplifters. Never shopped at Zara and looks like I never will.
