Pavarotti is the master of all Tenors without any doubt in my 72yr old memories of being privileged to see/hear both and many more , God is with Andrea Bocelli in every way . Both in his outward beauty and within his soul . Music transcends language , culture and history .

For me Placido Domingo is the unsurpassed vocal champion of opera tenors followed by the immense Pavarotti. Bocelli is in a different category in my opinion. Beautiful of course but no comparable mastery.

If that was a lesson on how to sing nobody would sing again, why try to sing when obviously this wonderful perfection cannot be touched.
Brilliant performance. I understand why Pavarotti is Bocelli’s role model. Bocelli has a strong, melodic voice that is pleasant to the ear and Pavarotti has a strenuous, powerful voice that even the deaf can hear. They complemented each other beautifully.

@Isaac Ds Find out about it before making the type of comment you made. Pavarotti knew very well how to use the chest voice, the mixed voice, the head voice and the falsetto perfectly.
Nothing you wrote can save the fact that Dimash has a strange passage between registers.
Dimash when he changes from a low note to a much higher note that looks like someone else singing, this transition is not good. I've heard several people say something like "The first time I heard Dimash, I thought it was a man imitating a couple singing, like low notes for men and high notes for women. I found it strange to be honest". And that really is the impression that a lot of people have hearing Dimash singing. Besides the fact that his voice is shrill ... Pavarotti's voice is more consistent and powerful!

It is no wonder that Pavarotti is considered one of the greatest singers in the history of music. Dimash is overrated. He is great? Yes. But he is not a phenomenal singer like Pavarotti. Try to watch Pavarotti's videos when he was younger. The control of his voice is monstrous. Dimash is novelty and people love news. We'll see if in 30 years someone will remember Dimash. Pavarotti will never cease to be a reference in opera.

I tell you the same. Your fanaticism does not allow you to see that Pavarotti has a voice with a quality of resonance better than Dimash. Pavarotti has always been able to sing opera without a microphone in large theaters. A strong, powerful and intense voice !!! In addition, Pavarotti has the highest notes more fuller and richer than Dimash. If you really understand vocal techniques, you would be able to see that.

Sobre Pavarotti, su voz potente no está en discusión pero a mí no me atrae tanto.

What I would say, in Bocelli’s defence, is he is relatively young here. Opera singers hit their true potential in their later years. I think he’s got more power to his voice nowadays and he looks physically more relaxed and less strained in his delivery.
Truly, these gentelmen are gifted by God! They never praised themselves. I also sing opera gospel now for 58 years. Jesus is my life! recordings available.
Pavarotti is so out of this world. His voice is heaven on Earth. The clarity of it is amazing.

My step brother sang opera in Vienna. He personally knew many of the greats, and studied under one of the best teachers back then.

Both are lyrical tenors, both voice timbers are of course beautiful, but Pav's technique and power is untouchable
Yes Bocelli tends to lean on his "nose" especially in lower sequences, so i hear the difference in technicality even though he has beuatiful tone.
Very interesting display of vocal powers. During that last run,Pavarotti would go high and Bocelli would go low,then they both switched it to Bocelli,high and Pavarotti Low. Both being gracious to the other.

Im here july 21 2024 listening to the voice of an angel i cam see why freddy Mercury's ambition was to sing with this lady , and why freddy turned into a blithering wreck in hrr presence he was so starstruck i get it now freddy she must be one of the greatest opera singers ever , certainly on my lifetime , she has such a silky as softness in her voice even under the amazing power its stay silk. Wow . Im so glad st last in my 40 's taking the time to listen to opera to the tenors , im just starting to understand what i was missing but i guess i didn't have the eyes too . But i have now

Remember seeing bocelli when he was just discovered, and have listened to him ever since. Saw pavarotti at the coliseum near cleveland -- my dear mom had passed away, so I took my dad to see and hear him. So glad to have been there with my dad. It was wonderful. My dad passed away not too long after, and unfortunately that fantastic venue was torn down for no reason at all...
