Then NPS expects you to beg, steal for 10 years till you become 60 to start your pension. Secondly, The pension does not increase with inflation or pay commissions unlike the old govt pension scheme. Thirdly, there is a forced 40% purchase of annuity from the corpus. The person cannot choose what to do with his own money. Thirdly, National Pension Scheme is not a pension actually. Its basically a mutual fund account, wherein you can only buy annuity when you turn 60 from some pension fund providers. So why not just invest money is a mutual fund rather than NPS and then if you need you can invest it in pension fund, you will have flexibility and liquidity throughout.

how to start NPS investment? Through fund managers website or we need to go to there office to enquire? Is is possible to invest in NPS in monthly EMI mode like SIP or we need to invest lump sum amount yearly?
Hello Sir, in this volatile market nps allotment how to divide for 1 year? suppose for E - 35%, C - 40%, G - 22%, A - 3% or for E should be more? Please answer 🙏🏻
Hello Ghosh L. : Are you retiring in the next 1 year and going to pull out the NPS corpus? I ask this because a similar question was asked by a 38 year old yesterday and when I said, "Brother, you have another 22 years to go to pull out money from NPS. @@ETMONEY Thanks for reply me. I just joined, I am 40y old. I wanted to invest more in equity but present situation about market I am not sure my allotment is correct or not for one year, please reply me.
Hi, when we switch the asset allocation or change the mode altogether from active to auto, what happens under the hood? Do all the fund units get sold and then rebought based on the new allocation? Or only those fund units get sold that are needed to set up the nps fund based on the new allocation? Then does it mean the timing of switching is very important, and you should do the switch if the markets are high especially if you have a high equity exposure when performing the switch. Is this correct?
Hi. On the timing bit, we think - timing is the least important for NPS especially if your retirement is 20 or more years away. So when buying a unit now at 10 versus 11 rupees NAV .. only for it to mature 20 years later at 100 rupees does not amount too much as a difference in the overall scheme of things.

These terms are not associated with NPS but with annuities. You can refer to life insurance company websites like ICICI Prudential, HDFC Life, SBI Life etc. for more details on these terms. So very simply - the purchase price or return of purchase price refers to the value of your investment corpus at the end of the accumulation phase (in this case being the NPS corpus or part of it) with which the annuity was purchased
@@mugusrini1180 You'll have to check for that with SBI only. Here's a link of charges on ETMONEY. www.etmoney.com/help/national-pension-system/about-nps/what-are-the-other-charges-paid-by-subscriber-for-maintaining-the-nps-account

What is With Return Purchase Price and Without Return Purchase Price?
How to know our nps account is related to with ROP or without ROP?
These terms are not associated with NPS but with annuities. You can refer to life insurance company websites like ICICI Prudential, HDFC Life, SBI Life etc. for more details on these terms.
So very simply - the purchase price or return of purchase price refers to the value of your investment corpus at the end of the accumulation phase (in this case being the NPS corpus or part of it) with which the annuity was purchased
