i re watch this show almost once a week.. it takes me back to shen i finished high school.. ans had no worries.. whata migical time... im gonna watch it again now.. happy times...
@ianmillerphotography sadly he only did 77 shows from September 1984 until June 1985 before being ditched, officially for his lack of rapport with the viewers but more likely because he was too openly gay.
I have watched very few episodes of "The Tripods" on French TV. I didn't know the story, but I'm a fan of "War of the Worlds" by H.G. Wells. The fact that there are also tripods here intrigued me. I found Christopher's three books in French and I really like the story. Unfortunately, I was never able to see the French series again.
Shame it's rarely realized in a tasteful manner now. Really bothers me as someone being for 40 years in this industry, working with everything from models to computer graphics. I usually turn off the moment I spot video game esque CGI.
thank god for sarah greene, my god she was fit, and goodness how many young boys, must have watched blue peter when she was on it, and because of her, they had their first crush.
It’s such a shame that despite the script for the third series being written, the BBC decided to cancel it. The chances of us ever seeing another adaptation of John Christopher’s novels are slim. Disney has held the rights since 1997.
@@chrisM-vu1xc we can hope that perhaps a fan version may happen; the same as what happened with the final episode of the 80s cartoon Dungeons & Dragons…..yes the script exists & it answers so many questions.

Wow when you see stuff like this you realise how far special effects have come 😆

Michael Sundin died less than 4 years after this was recorded.
I have a dog called flunky and she is a girl and she’s 4 years old and she’s a jack Russel mixed with a pug!
What happened to the UK ,,,Lovely times
Brexit happened.. Well done.
MAKE SEASON THREE NOW!!!! (...umm, pass it on!)
02:15 Simon Groom just can't help it with the innuendos: "If you're given one, you can't think clearly, or behave like an intelligent human being."
Back then when people sent cards to tv stations.
How much to buy an entire tripod? Fuck just the foot
I would like the smaller model.

*GREAT.* GREAT. GREAt. GREat. GReat. Great. great.
What was wrong with Janet?!
It may have been when she broke her pelvis during the training for her freefall parachute jump
I believe this was when she broke her pelvis doing a sky dive.
"hit"
They should of just used Adobe production tools :p
Not a thing in 1984. This was the age of the Quantel Paintbox, of motion control camera rigs and straightforward model work.
