It's a fabulous car to tour in. I did 9 countries in Europe last year in the Supersports and it was sensational. It's a monster on the German Autobahns and heading in to the Swiss Alps it can take corners quite confidently. The pillarless window frame just sets the look off when cruising around in towns.
No second thoughts! It was delayed at Fibresports for quite a while because Steve had Covid - and I added on another few weeks to get the little bit ahead of the side vents right. But hopefully we can charge on now. I’m ordering wheels tomorrow from Image wheels which will take a while to get right. These projects gave a pace of their own !
True. They are expensive to run - big engine, lots of complication - but much cheaper than Bentleys of old or Astons or Ferrari’s. They are a VW product which helps. Thanks for watching!
@@sportscarstory Its just it was three months since the last update. The wheels you haven't got a template for and you needed to stiffen the sills - like Retropower are just doing - but you've already put the arches over the top and now nothing posted for months. I guessed you were having second thoughts, what with the enormous work needed to get the suspension to work properly.

Wow. Now that was a proper road trip! Yes I should have extolled the pillarless windows better. Thanks for watching !

So with a budget of £60k buy the SuperSport for £35k and the rest on repairing it every few months. Nothing left for the Grand Tour! Great car though.
Ah it won’t cost as much as that if you get a good one. But yes a really stinking, well engineered car. Thanks for watching!
The purchasing price is a bargain but bare in mind that the maintenance cost will be calculated upon the original price of the car😂

So.... I guess the Steed restoration has hit some snags then.
No it’s just It’s back from Fibresports - & we’re pushing on. I recorded a short video today. Coming soon!
