Soul-touching lyrics that take us back to high school, when we didn't have a care in the world...we had our whole lives ahead of us, and thought we knew it all!!! Haha! Jokes on the young kids we once were, bc we reach an age where we realize we didn't know shit about anything! We grow up and start full-time career as an ADULT! Then we really yearn for our footloose & fancy free way of living our high school days!!
And, had to throw this in... Duets can be questionable at times and there are some duets that just don't work....
But this one?
Totally works 110%! Their voices were perfection together. Whoever came up with lyrics, putting the music to it, and choosing these two to perform it??? Man they hit the jackpot! Can't imagine ANYONE else singing either part. Def meant for them to perform! Amazing!

I have not listened to a lot of country music. It's not my favorite genre. That being said, my wife took me to a Kenny Chesney concert a few weeks ago, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Kelsea Ballerini opened up for him, and then in the middle of Kenny's set, she came out and performed this song. It was the first time I'd even heard it, and it was magical - the music, the duet, the lyrics - I was mesmerized. This song tugged at my heart, and when they say "Knoxville, Tennessee" - even not being from there, I could feel the emotion behind it. Just an amazing song.
I have fallen in love with this song. Lying here in my bed with my phone to my ear, feeling joy. So awesome for you both. XO

This song resonates with me. I love and support my hometown in Ohio, it’s always my root and foundation! I relate to these words. They say it, I was homecoming queen, loving football-sports, family and learned of Jesus there, but had a gypsy soul and couldn’t wait to travel and see the big world, so I did! Never looked back, but love to visit and support from the road. I would say many have not left and a few like me couldn’t stay! Much love 💕 to you guys! Great song!

Oh my word, this is soooo beyond great. It's like someone else mentioned, you can tell it took her a minute to believe she was singing with Kenny CHesney. She was - to use his word - fangirling the entire time. Don't know who wrote the song, but it's perfect for these 2. I can't think of a better duo. They complement each other perfectly. Reminds me alot of Tim MccGraw's Stay Humble & Kind.
I love this song. Never been to Knoxville. I stay in Georgia but if I was from Knoxville hearing this song I'd be crying my eyes out. I'd be A ready to pack my bags to move back home. The song is a gut punch to the heart. Very moving.

Can so relate and just moved back because of my dad having dementia which so fits Kenny’s other song.
I think we all have a "Knoxville hometown" we miss when we hear this. I had totally forgotten they were both from Knoxville til I read it in the comments. That makes this duet all the more special, and they did sound amazing together! I really really miss Kenny- no idea why he just dropped outta sight & outta making any new music??
