June 06, 2020 I lost my wife, my best friend, my everything to cancer.. She died in my arms and I miss her every second and everyday! She got her wings now and where ever she is I know she’s is not suffering anymore and happy and she would want me to be the same. Still... it’s hard not having the one who made u feel like u was on top of the world beside u, but I put on my Superman cape and keep pushing fwd! Miss u so much Laquanda Thomas..Your husband and kids are doing fine.. we still get strength from u to keep going every day!

Reminds me of my daughter that was murdered in 2017 - she was our beach girl & even moved to Hawaii for a couple years ~ her headstone has palm trees and the ocean 2 pictures she took combined together. almost 4 years later - I'm still fight for justice. Justice for Angie Schroer

My beautiful mother died due to Covid 19 last week, I miss all her calls in the morning checking on me. She was the most amazing person I knew I'm so blessed that in this pandemic over 300 people gathered in a Zoom funeral and spoke how she helped them overcome life and sadness. I know God has a special place for her.
My father died in February due to COVID-19 I wish we could have given him the full wake and farewell he deserved though we did have a nice memorial just not the same

My ex and I don’t talk because our lives are different but I love her despite the breakup. I’d do it all over, and it was great knowing her. Then, exactly 1 year after we separated, my mother passed away of ALS. I lost 2 of the most important women in my life in one year. Thanks for this song KC.

I lost my wife of 13 years to breast cancer in 2011, july 29th . She was such an inspiration to everyone around her!! I am so glad i had the time with her i had. Our son had just graduated highschool. A couple weeks later she was gone. The hardest day of my life was coming home and telling my son his mom wasn't coming home. That was the last day i felt anything in my heart. I still feel sad and depressed to this day. I dont think it will ever go away. This song makes me feel a little better .

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. First day i heard this song was the day we was saying our good byes to my Sissy that had cancer. It made me think of her cause her and her husband would go on cruises and she'd tell me she'd have a drink to calm her nerves. I could tell you the pain goes away but it never does. Most definitely! Words can’t express the feeling and emotions that come over me! I cry every time I hear it. Him and I were like the same person except he’s a guy and I’m a girl. He was my person. Sometimes I still feel like he is. We both love the beach and the song just fits what we’re going through in life right now. Most ppl it touches cause they lost someone to death. This is losing your best guy friend and seeing him around occasionally but knowing the friendship is not there anymore is killing me! 💔

I interpret this song in a different way. My ex wife and I went out separate ways and I am forever grateful that for the 8 years we were together i wouldn’t change a second of it and I know she is happy wherever she is in life . He was disabled, spent his last 10 years in a wheelchair, during which time I was his caregiver. 24/7, 365, and I thank God that we had those years together. I was truly blessed. Seems almost everything comes in to our lives for only "seasons," parents, siblings, favorite dogs, youth, that special love. And while I love the island romance theme of the video, I could easily have seen it being a young father playing catch with his son (and the son now grown looking back), a young lad playing fetch with a young pup (and years later having to say goodbye), or just someone looking back on their faded youth... but in every case, we'd do it all over, because damn it was good.

After an abusive childhood, a thousand bad decisions, a divorce, I got clean. And after 16yrs I am still on the path. I found the beauty of knowing love, feeling truly alive. Over time I met the woman of my dreams, and we served the community together, traveled, laughed, lived, and never once ever had a cross word. She was hands down the most beautiful person I have ever known in my life. One day it was her past that came in, and little by little se got lost in it while trying to find herself. She for no reason I could fault her for needed to heal and find her own way, and she could not do it with us. I stayed faithful and waited, hoped, loved, but she is still out there finding her way. She has not met anyone, we just said, "I have never loved like this before or since" I still miss her every single day, but she is still out there finding her way in the world. This song hit me hard, because unlike some breakups no one could find a single reason to be mad at each other. No one truly did anything wrong, but I am not ashamed to admit as a man, this hit me deep and the tears fell once again today. I will always love that lady...I am just grateful that we got to share so much beauty. It was more than I ever knew or thought would happen in this life...there is that.

We never missed a Kenny concert, but she was too sick when you came to Arlington and I couldn't make myself go without her. I am getting a *knowing you tattoo as a tribute to her. This song describes our 13 years of friendship perfectly and the asterisk is a joke because she always said she was the * for what could go wrong a the end of the medical instructions. I will be back Kenny but I'm sure I will cry the entire time!

I was my Daddy’s Little Girl, his one and only True love.. The day he passed away, it was very peacefully in my childhood home. I left the room so my husband could have some words with him. Those were the last parting words. It was only minutes before my husband told me to come back inside. . My dad WAITED until I wasn’t in the room to pass away because he knew how hard that would have been for me see and live through. Like really, Damn. That’s just how much my dad really loved me. I thought this song was about a relationship ending when I heard it on the radio(and loved it for that). Now, after seeing all of the comments where people thought it was about losing a loved one, made me realized so far I have been very blessed to not have lost someone close to me/ to not have even had to think about the song in that way. I love the fact that the lyrics fit both a loved one passing and a relationship ending. Truly amazing how it was done.

My wife of 27 years passed away a little over a year ago from MBC she had been breast cancer free for four years when it metastasized into bone cancer. She fought with all her might for a little over three years when she just couldn't anymore. Every time I hear this song I just can't keep the tears from pouring out of my eyes. I am going to be lucky enough to go see Kenny at his first concert in a couple of years on April 23rd at Ray Jay Stadium in Tampa. I know that it could never happen but if he could dedicate this song to my late wife Tammy at the concert it would bring tears of joy to my eyes instead of sorrow. God I miss her but I was so blessed to know her for as long as I did and this song just reminds me of it every time I hear it.

This is a perfect song not only for those who loved a partner and it was for just a season but also for those who loved and lost those to earning their wings to heaven! Depending on where I am when I hear this song, or what’s going through my head, will determine where this song takes me to lost loves or to lost lives!
