I still sound like I'm jumping between instead of sounding as a coherent blended combination. Sometimes I just feel like it will never come to me. Maybe i need to quit playing and start listening more... for someone who loves to play nonstop, I don't enjoy listening like i feel i should.

Seems like the second inversion diminished is the most versatile. It can lead to the first or second inversion of the target chord: Bdim7/F - C/E or C/G or the relative minor: G#dim7/D - Ami/C or Ami/E
That first 20 seconds really sums up my experience with diminished. It sounds great, but I just gotta use the arpeggio shape when I wanna use that sound, instead of hearing it naturally and shifting in and out at will. Thanks for the help, Dani.
Ok...okk...I had a momentary lapse of clarity but then I doubt myself! Oh, the joys of being self-taught! You never know when to trust the teacher. If I just add a b2 to the harmonic minor scale then I can enclose the tonic with a diminished and a dominant.... even if just for fun!😂 then i realize that isn't right...... wait...yes it is 🥨

Maybe it depends on certain variables (I was a jazz arranging and composition major) but covering diminished chord functionality in the last year seems a bit late in the game, no?

This tutorial certainly requires an intermediate level of theory to be able to flow with the ideas presented. It requires understanding the functionality of harmony in its essential aspects. I find it interesting because there are many tutorials dedicated to beginners where sometimes so much information is given that the student ends up overwhelmed without really understanding anything. I understand the application of diminished chords but they sound so old school cliche to my ears. I like altered chords more for the sense of wanting to resolve. Still I like your clear explanations and hands down approach of teaching it on the instrument.

Im wondering; are there any kind of exams or tests that are avalible on internet for people who did not attend any music school or college so that they can test themselves to check how much they know (I don't know what I don't know therefore I don't know how much I know at all relatively to whole body of musical knowledge)? And by "any kind" I mean those that resemble the real college exam that people have to pass to become a "certified pro".

As such, he is better known as a guitar collector and gear shill than as a musician. Going to that school basically amounts to going into a lifetime of debt for the sake of making sure you can't ever write a good song again, unless you get extremely lucky, in which case you just get the debt you'll never pay off
