The smartest thing Trump can do is to have a debate with Kennedy and treat him with absolute respect. This will elevate Kennedy and Kennedy will take huge chunks of voters away from Biden.
RFK Jr is not a serious candidate. While I don't think Trump should attack him in any serious way, I don't believe Trump should embrace him either. He's too radically left and he's a Kennedy, the beginnings of the swamp.

I’m glad he’s seen the light. I enjoyed his work and was surprised when I found out he was a Biden supporter.

Back in 2015, Trump said he had only ran for Prez because of the lack of talent in the pool, and that if the only effect he had was to force better candidates on the duopoly, he was satisfied. Knowing in 2012 that our likely choices in 2016 would be a Bush and a Clinton choice? That was both depressing, and a weakness, for Trump to know exactly who to war-game his chances for 4-years, and likely when he chose to run as a Republican.
Trump at a Libertarian event seems to me like a gift to Libertarians and a giant middle finger to the GOP never-Trump old guard.
