I love how Guga always says, “I marinated this one for a month. As that was happening it was perfect because it gave me time to make a side dish” as if only a month is enough time to make a side dish haha
You beat me to it hahah
Ikr
So I needed a month to make some fkin mash
Lol
😂😂😂😂😂
Beat me to it, as well! I literally have the same thoughts for every video.
Probably a Heston side dish.
Uncle Guga like mad scientist. So delicious!
FUYOHHHHHH!
Nephew Roger
fuiyoh
Im still shocked about the amount of butter
Hi uncle roger!
Guga, I'm Brazilian, and I love that you make pão de queijo to uncle Roger.
I've always wondered how he would react to Brazilian food.
Valeu Guga!! Tu é o melhor!!
Eu pensanva que o Leo era br tb, fiquei surpreso
Ele fala pão de queijo tão bonitinho kkkkk
I love how Leon was treated like a side-character but still didn't disappoint as description guy
If Guga ever starts a side dish and says, "to make it, it's really complicated, difficult, and takes a long time," you know it's going to be serious.
Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Lmaooo😂
@@privacyvalued4134Oh really?!
"A dish that nobody can love"
He won't considering he's basicly gugabot now with a guga soundboard with prerecorded sentences. Lets do eet
I think this is one of the few times that the one month marinade has beaten out the shorter ones, normally it has a weird taste or texture as the meat fibers break down.
I think it still kinda did to the point they said it started to taste like pork lol
I was thinking the same. Usually the one month dishes turn out worse. This one really surprised me especially with Uncle Roger being one of the critics.
Let's be honest what it is, it's now a candied steak. He should just try basic bbq sauce now.
It did it taste like pork. lol
I’d do a day but not any longer. Steak needs to be tasted
Guga, the growth and success of both you and your channel truly warms my heart. I've been watching you for a few years now and you're still out here experimenting on behalf of the masses.
As a household we have learned a lot from you and are elated to see your continued success and excellent collaborations.
I lost it at “cold hearted *beep*”
Classic Uncle Roger.
After seeing Guga and uncle roger do so many videos together.
I want to see a competition where Guga makes an Asian dish like egg fried rice, and uncle roger makes a steak, and see who does better.
This one please
Uncle Roger literally can't cook even basic food, he's proven it many times.
He went to uni in the US, best he can do is burnt toast and watery ramen.
@@deathcrunch9020Well, he did get a grilling lesson from Guga, so maybe there's a chance?
@@deathcrunch9020 he did a colab with Joshua where both cooked pad thai and Joshua said it was pretty good. I think Uncle Roger can hold the basics.
That would be dooooope 🤣🤣🤣
For another experiment with Uncle Roger, you might try seasoning one steak with "5 spices" instead of the standard salt, black pepper and garlic powder. 5 spices can be found in most Chinese grocery stores and is commonly used as a dip after the meat is cooked (eg. Peking Duck).
Another Chinese ingredient you coudl try is Hoisin sauce. It's quite sweet but not like Char Siu. More savoury a bit like A1 steak sauce. You should also have no trouble finding this in a Chinese grocery store.
And since I'm listing off Chinese sauses, ther's Oyster Sauce too. And Fish Sauce. But I would be very careful about Fish Sauce as it uses fermented fish oils which can, let's just say, pose a challenge to your gastro-intestinal tract if you are not used to it as an ingredient.
This needs more likes
The hoisin one is smart because it’s so one of a kind and there’s nothing you can substitute it with.
I’m a Muslim but uncle roger haram joke got me in stitches 😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah, especially knowing that he is supposed to be stereotyping Asians & eating dogs, cats etc.. are haram as well 😂😂
Did you watch the clip where this one guy asks if the pork is helal?
He asks uncle roger?
I was like" dude really???"😂😂😂
@@cmbaz1140 I know a Muslim who will have a sneaky bit of bacon every now and then.
Time to convert to a pork religion.
Same
Uncle Roger's pork haram joke had me in stitches! The dude is hilarious
Good joke
fr that was so good haha
Makes sense too! 😂
I didn't laugh, just so i don't get bad deeds, it wasn't funny for me, although idk from what perspective I should take this so, i left with no reaction really
.... What? Lol.
"cause it's haram" LMAO he is so unhinged
Perhaps a two week marinade would be the ideal length of time? Seems like that would put you right in between the last two as far as tenderness and flavor and still retain the beef aspect
It’s for the tittle “two weeks” isn’t going to do as well in the algorithm
Guga is such a nice guy, makes Uncle Roger chill on the roast jokes.
As a Brazilian from Minas Gerais, i need to say that 'pão de queijo' is perfect and the world need to prove it.
Sou seu vizinho de SP amigão, e concordo! The world NEEDS to try pão de queijo!
For those unfamiliar with the Portuguese, it translates to 'cheese bread' in English. In Spanish it is known as 'pan de queso' or 'pan de yuca' (Ecuador/Colombia) or "cuñapes' (Bolivia) or 'chipa' (Argentina/Paraguay). Salud!
The world needs to try it without char sieuw
Props to the editors as always 👏
Uncle Roger is a freaking gold mine man
Lol reminds me of empire of dust documentary
😂
If you like the sound of scratching finger nails on a chalkboard
If youre 10yrs old and find people talking in a accent or silly voice funny ..
I mean it's great to see someone who dares to make jokes on the internet in 2023. He isn't the best, but I love every video he ever been in.
I’ve never seen my man make a side that wasn’t “ridiculously easy” regardless of the actual amount of effort and ingredients! 😂
Sometimes he makes perfect cuts or mentions wagyu fat and I'm reminded that "ridiculously easy" cooking for Guga is like super easy basketball shots for Shaq.
@ThermiteKitty so not a free throw?
Guga is such a good sport - I love his personality, his sense of humor and the fact that he can take punches (metaphorical, of course) like a real man. 👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍
This is why I love his videos. I don't even eat steak lol
To be honest I felt like I saw some annoyance on his face when Uncle Roger made the "unemployment" joke. And to be honest, Uncle Roger, while funny at first, seems to repeat the same jokes over and over and over again. But he does have his fan base so he is good for boosting views I suppose.
He got me crying with the Haram joke at the end
LOL, I never thought of it that way. Pork’s so good God said don’t eat it because he wants it all for himself.
He won the internet with that one
@@mrdude88 Pork is so bad God made it Haram. You're literally eating an animal that lives on dirt and it's own poo. ( Pork is also forbidden in Christianity).
@@mrdude88I’m American and never understood haram/halal, now I know. I eat bacon every day. It’s delicious 🤤
Awesome, wish I could get a piece to try. Also Uncle Rogers's jokes are awesome and the "description guy" delivered all the raw information I wanted, almost turning this video educational! And of course Guga's shier skill in grilling shows.
Can’t emphasize this enough I love gugas videos, I remember I used to watch these religiously on my 30 min lunch while eating a cup of noodles working at some dead end job. Now I’m in a better point in my life still watching these religiously. Thank you for the memories Guga.
You guys are awesome together, it seems you have so much fun making videos. Love what both of you do, keep it going!
if Uncle Roger is back, this can only mean Guga has done something completely insane again.
and it's gonna somehow turn out great.
Or Uncle Roger is collabing with a bunch of people at once when traveling. My favorite gun UA-camrs all Collab with each other when ever they go to Texas.
I'm pretty sure they filmed a few videos together and Guga is just releasing them over time.

I love it when u have Uncle Roger on ir channel!
Big fans of both u guys so it's always something special when u get together!
I am loving Sunday today! New content from all my favorites! Although Guga’s voice is so soothing I always end up napping half way through and have to watch it again. 😂
This was such a fun video, you hit it out of the ballpark. The two of you have such amazing chemistry together! 🤩🤩🤩
Just got your book today super excited
"Insanely easy to make side dishes that are perfect because we have one month to do them" is exactly what I'm looking for in a GUGA weejio.
Uncle Roger really said pork so good that god doesnt want you to have it 😂
Char Siu sauce is literally "roast on stick", which is what we call BBQ. The sauce was originally made to cover up the taste of cheaper cuts of meat and to tenderize it. The reason you don't see it being used with beef all that much is because it's generally kind of a waste of the beefy flavour to mask it.
Also the easiest way to make it is just honey + soysauce. There is so many variations, but it just needs to be sweet, slightly tart, and salty. The reason I mention the honey is because it might be what's causing the tenderization, and can also kind of pickle the meat. If you let it sit long enough and if it's thin enough it can almost candy the meat.
Oh, so it’s barbecue sauce? Makes sense
Char Siu sauce is specifically use for premium pork cut to make what is called Char Siu pork. You can of course use it on cheaper cut. It has no tenderizering effect, for that Chinese chef use baking soda.
Honey + Soya sauce would taste like Japanese Teriyaki sauce.
I don't think you know what you're talking abt.
You guys nailed it! What a nice video, with useful recipes of course, thank you!
I think it's really crazy when these long seasoning experiments work out.
It’s interesting seeing a different kind of barbecue sauce/rub for this video. It all looks so delicious! Great video today, Guga. And great to have Uncle Roger here too.
👀👀 bro if haven’t had char-sui pork you have no idea what u are missing out my man! I suggest trying it out next time you get the chance!!!
If you want to try the marinaded pork he made, you can go to any Asian food corner store and buy tocino. Its pork belly so there’s some very lean parts and some very fatty parts, but all of it tastes amazing with the red sugary glaze on the outside
Awesome video. I bought your cookbook and will try the rolls you made. Thanks for posting.
I love y'alls colabs so much!!!
I love seeing use with uncle Rodger… so much fun to watch ❤
I *LOVE* Char Siu! I make BBQ pork all the time. I've also tried the sauce on chicken and it's great for dipping fries, but I never tried it on steaks. I even happen to have some leftover sauce in my fridge right now. I guess I gotta get me a steak and try this for myself.
Yeah char sui pork or chicken is amazing especially grilled since you get a nice char you just gotta constantly keep an eye on it definitely not one of them look away kinda cooks
I’m sure it’s more suited to pork than it is beef
I love guga's videos and the side dishes. Plus I like his experiments too.
"Anything that haraam means it's good"

10:23 Guga even lost his word 🤣
Guga & Uncle Roger is really the only collaboration we need
guga using a flamethrower to light a grill then immediately grilling steaks that've been marinated in what is effectively barbecue sauce is the most American thing i've ever seen and I am all here for it
I love love to watch your videos. You have done a lot of different recipes but I have not seen you do meat Satay. Satay is a well loved dish, made with different meats on skewers marinated in spices, grilled over charcoal and dipped in peanut sauce. They are savory, sweet and oh so good (meat on sticks!). This is a favourite in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Please do one on this as I think you would do great!
Guga you never disappoint thanks for a great show. Uncle Roger takes it up a few notches.
Props to Uncle Guga's skills - a 2 month marinated steak isn't easy to cook perfectly!
Uncle saying “Haram” killed me 😂😂
Crazy! TY for content much enjoyed!
Love the green onion trick, looks lovely
I genuinely believe this is probably one of if not the only dry age experiment that had sugar where a full month was actually the best one 🤯

Wow i am actually blown away by this. Thank you so much for doing these experiments

The next time you have Uncle Roger on, you should do the MSG+DSI/DSG experiment! I recently learned that snacks that use MSG sometimes also contain Disodium Inosinate and Disodium Guanylate (aka DSI/DSG or I+G) to enhance the effect of MSG by 20x-30x stronger (for example, Doritos, Pringles, KFC, Snyders Pretzel Pieces, Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, etc).
From what I’ve seen, some people buy a 50/50 premix of DSI and DSG (for example, by the brand Make It Meaty) and then make a custom mix of 97g MSG and 3g DSI/DSG to make an “enhanced MSG mix”.
I was thinking the experiment could be this:
1. Steak + Salt Pepper Garlic (control)
2. Steak + SPG + MSG
3. Steak + SPG + MSG + DSI/DSG
Then maybe you could do a mini test with maybe another meat like chicken or maybe a potato based side dish or something, so we can see how it works with and without the MSG+DSI/DSG.
I can even see the video title already “Food scientists say THIS makes MSG BETTER!”
Anyways, I hope you give it a shot!

I know uncle roger was joking about pork being haram and stuff but i want to inform you why it actually is halal in islam. Pigs are animals that eat their own poop. When they do that, a worm starts growing inside them and if eaten by humans, it can cause alot of health problems
Which is why it's cooked to a healthy internal temperature. Forbidding murder, adultery, sure, but it might not be a bad idea to update your food safety guidelines every few hundred years as the technology improves.
@@user-on6uf6om7s even though it is cooked to a healthy internal temperature, the filth he eats stays inside. There is nothing called “upgrading”. Eating pigs is haram in islam, no matter how much technology evolves, it is haram to eat it and that cant be changed
@@user-on6uf6om7sI don't think you understood the part where they think an animal eating its own waste means its not something to be partaken of?
Westerners wont eat dog or horse meat for far more sentimental reasons.
@@deathcrunch9020 It being dirty wasn't the reason given, though, but the resulting parasites and you can get parasites from many animals that aren't properly prepared. Cows chew their vomit and this "chewing of the cud" is one of the requirements of kosher laws but if you want to draw the line at the excrement, okay. Just don't conflate ancient laws with modern safety practices.
it's not permissible for muslims because God stated it's not permissible full stop. Any other reasoning is just supporting it's impermissibility
