Forgot to mention how Jon Favreau was hesitant into directing Iron Man because he thought the CGI would look fake until he saw Transformers and that convinced him to direct Iron Man and bring in ILM (who did the VFX for Transformers)
Didn’t mention it directly, but I did make reference to it by showing the clip where he mentions how “Iron Man wouldn’t have been possible 5 years ago”
I really liked the grounded reality of the first iron man movie. I wished they would have made more marvel movies that would have been more ''realistic''
Iron man is as close to realistic as most of the characters get. Daredevil, punisher and very few others are even close to believable. I get your meaning but, like the rocketeer, this was ab as realistic as it was gonna get w space gods and vibranium fish people. 👍
Would work for characters like captain america or daredevil but wouldn't mesh well with thor or the guardians of the galaxy
Only if it works. Remember that this is what the DCEU wanted for ALL of their characters and it destroyed their universe and the reputation of many of their heroes. We should be careful for what we wish for
@@Albino_Basilisk Blame WB studio executives who were always changing plans last minute and couldn't commit to one vision..
Yeah. Now everything’s just straight up magic
this is now officially my new favorite CBM channel on youtube
Thank you
Oh my boy here is my favorite
@@WarpingFist you're welcome man, keep up the great work.
Ah yes. The franchise that Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau created.
Keep in mind that the MCU franchise hasn't started yet since Paramount used to own Iron Man until The Avengers set the cinematic universe up.
@Herb Coswell Eh, pretty sure "started" and "created" means the same thing 😂
Holy shit! I had no idea that those animated Iron Man shorts that I watched on constant repeat on the Marvel Kids website was made by Tim Miller
I'm glad you learned something new
When he said Hello Fresh I said out loud, "Don't do it, don't do it." Boy am I glad you didn't.
Cool video it's felt like I was watching documentary i remember being skeptical about this movie but it ended up being amazing. Are you gonna do the rest of phase 1?
Depends on how well the video does.
absolutely insane that Fox passed on that Iron Man concept in favor of Daredevil 2003
It's always weird, as a comic fan who was pretty young when iron man 1 came out hearing people complain that the character was to obscure, mind you he's my favorite comic book character ever before the movie came out, like iron man had legendary stories was a member of the avengers for years. Referring to him as an obscure seems so crazy to me.
I can’t wait for this to drop tomorrow morning, I’m glad you’re doing more Marvel stuff, the amazing Spider-Man video about the series failure is my favorite
I loved iron man since the avengers arcade game in like 92. Never understood how more people disnt know him, the game was at McDonald's 😅
Can you make a video about Video game movies and their behind the scenes/concept art taking inspiration from the video games ?
Best Channel As Of Now
It’s so interesting to see the thoughts and ideas behind movies. Thanks for giving a digestible window into what’s behind.
iron man 1 was AWESOME
It's pretty ironic since Jon Favreau wanted the Mandarin to be the main villain in the first movie by having the idea to have Obadiah Stane appearing in the first film but not as Iron Monger but Obadiah Stane himself & setting his villainous arc as the main villain for Movie's 2 or 3. But in the end Mark Millar forced Jon Favreau to remove The Mandarin because The Mandarin was way too much an out of place fantasticcal Villain Character for Favreau's realistic & grounded Dark Knight style approach to Iron Man.
Great video
Great video man Loved the sponsorship joke!
Please do unused concepts for kick-ass if possible! that would be awesome to see if media exists of early concepts.
Great video. That 20th Century Fox version of the movie sounds so interesting, I would’ve like to see what would become of it and as not a fan of the MCU myself probably would’ve preferred that then the path taken.
Personally, I think the one we got in the end is great. 2CF’s version sounds pretty intriguing but I think it’s better to make an origin story for Iron Man then to start off with him as the character already.
Drumroll please, I said drumroll please
Before the first iron man I honestly did not know that much about iron man all I knew was the 90s iron man cartoon and he appeared in the 90s spiderman cartoon as well but watching the film was truly amazing in 2009 for me and I am glad Robert Downey Jr got the chance to prove himself
4:14 that sounds like something that was dabbled with in the ultimate universe
What about the Fall of Marvel Studios
That’s kind of an over done topic at this point when it comes to videos
I'll still watch the MCU, I like a good story.
11:20 They could have used this armor before Avengers: Endgame I mean the suit of Iron Man and Captain America had some inspirations of the comic and they could used this armor in the 1st Iron Man film.
8:26 what’s this short called?
Funny & Ironically enough, The Iron Man's Mark 9 armor from Earth's Mightiest Heroes is directly Based on the Rejected concept Art of the Mark 3
It's crazy that it was a hail Mary for Marvel too. They had sold off so many characters just trying to keep afloat and they put all their eggs into one basket which was the Iron Man movie with RDJ. They really had no idea what a resounding success it would be and that it would kick off a whole cascade of Marvel projects that would span literal decades. Plus, it has allowed them to bring a bunch of those characters back home where they belong.
Ghost rider cut content
Where Did You Get Those Iron Man Tests From?
I can tell stanes armor was based on titanium man and crimson dynamo
Ironman Rules
Really? Ironman is not well known before the movies?
Among the general public yeah
Iron man 🧟♂️
Iron Man, obscure? hahahahaha. What B.S.
bleak moment in time for cinema
