I love it, I have a ps4 pro and I just worry about the possible physics cost. I'd love to make a somewhat historically accurate pirate game but I was never fully satisfied with the ocean I crafted.
Cant wait for new tutorials with the new mechanics. You are really the only one Ive found on UA-cam who found out and explains the new gadets. Always your fan, thanks from Kurgan73
I really love how that water looks! Very exciting update. I’m sure people will continue to find more awesome techniques now that the update dropped. From the update I find myself most interested in the time gadget. This is hype 🤩
I was immediately able to reduce gameplay thermal in my some of my creations, thus increasing my framerate. NPCs, and trees foliage. Not everything needs to be solid. Of course detail is lost, but you don't do it for everything, just things in the background.
Very cool!! This update is simply insane!! Luminoise is fantastic! The only way to achieve something similar was one time that I am not even sure what I did to the sculpt but suddenly it made the flex as tiny as I've never seen before! But now that "glitch" might not be needed since this is out now.
I tried replicating what you did here; however, my convert to paint always starts out with holes in it the painting. I have to add looseness to seal up the holes. I noticed that when you converted the green spheres to paint, I didn't see many holes (if any) and you hadn't added any looseness yet. Is there something else you did to the beginning sculpt besides changing the inner color and lumanoise setting? In addition, when I add the wave effect to the grass, it doesn't look like a gust of wind going over the grass, it just looks like the grass is alive for lack of better words.
Looks great! Nice work! When people talk about the first part--copy a sculpt, convert to paint--for things like grass or moss on a rock, I'm always a bit confused. We've been doing this stuff for years. Grass is easy to make on a sculpt without paint, because sculpts have the flecks already there. And if you clone, tint, and offset it from the original, you get stuff like moss without needing convert-to-paint. Sculpts have wave effects too. Could you explain how this is different/better? Only thing I could say for sure is looseness works a bit differently, per-fleck, instead of rendering the sculpt at a lower LOD and the flecks being further apart. So they can be more crowded. Does that make much of a difference? Does the wave effect behave differently for the painting vs the sculpt? It's just funny... in my mind this use case is the one thing we could already do and "convert to paint" doesn't help with at all 😅
I have been doing that for years as well for moss etc. but this is something completely different because painted grass looks completely different than turning a sculpt into grass and you wouldn't get that wind effect by using a sculpt. We could painfully place grass strokes and copy them around but it was hard for curves and now it's literally just one button we can press :D with paint grass we also have the option to stretch which is a gamechanger for the art style :) and yeah the wave effect is on a completely different level, I'm honestly surprised the painting even moves in this way o.o
You can make a cool translucent character or model with it and sculptures inside Plus you can pull parts of the paints away which makes it look like someone's face is falling apart or away like in some scifi movie or show, you could probably use it to make it look as if someone's body is being pulled apart or their arms are flying off It can also help with animals and their fur, so they don't eat up to much thermo
No I actually just use the in built video capture from the PlayStation o: I'm assuming you are on a standard PS4? It sadly can only capture 720p while the PS4 pro captures in 1080p and the PS5 can even do 4K
Unfortunately, when I move the water or grass away from the center of the scene it stops waving :( the intense beautiful waving are only a few waves near the middle of the scene unfortunately. And zi wanted to make my whole racetrack surrounded by wind like this
Actually! It kinda works but an object needs to be at a different rotation at different coordinates on the map. It's like the wind is this pattern of ripples. So it is possible after al 😁

I'm extremely excited about the new update! What do you guys think about this technique? What have you figured out so far? :)
Hey how you get subs? I'm on dreams FaithisRage I make ok stuff

WOW! That water looks sick!!
Looking forward to seeing the other techniques you figured out!
I know right :D and thanks I'll share a lot more over the next week :)
Cant wait to see more of this updated, i think there's so much more to learn now in 2.44 !
Oh absolutely, we barely scratched the surface!
This is absolutely incredible! Thank you Sakku! I’ll definitely replace the water in my game currently with this! It looks truly fantastic
Happy to have helped you! :)

That's absolutely insane. This is a must for the map I'm making.
Happy to have helped you, enjoy :D

Oh yes definitely we will see so many new discoveries over the next weeks, I'll try to share what I can :D
Bake to paint wasn't what I had hoped, but dang it's still going to be really useful!!!
It will open up so many possibilities that we didn't even think of trust me :)

Yup it definitely works a lot better with some things than others, we probably only figured a small amount of the ways we can use it for now :)
@@SakkusMind yup..

Yeah exactly, complicated work arounds are not needed anymore :)
Oh AWESOME!
I've got a four day weekend starting right now and THIS is what I see.
Take a hike, house work. I've got sculpting to do!
Perfect! Enjoy your weekend :D
This technique are very beautyfull thanks for sharing so quickly. I will try this
Happy to help! Enjoy your experiments with it :)
We finally have chance to make truly realistic water. Thanks for this video, Sakku, you're the best!
Always my friend! Gonna be looking forward to all the Dreams water in the future :)
Mind-blowing, such an exciting feature and update in general. Thank you for sharing Sakku!
Happy if I was able to help, it's gonna be exciting :)
very excited to see future creations made using these new techniques!!!
Same, it's gonna be incredible! :)
This is perfect for my boat. Cool! I've been using paint to make giant waves but these waves are much better.
Also much faster and easier :)
@Sakku’s Mind ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

LOVE the updates! Can't wait to see more!!!
Lots more to come over the next weeks :)
I just want a compilation of all the ways to use this new update and it's features. Idc if it's 5 hours
I'll try to cover as much as possible within the next weeks ^^
The first thing I did in Dreams today was replicate your tutorial! Exciting stuff, Thx again Sakku buddy
Happy to have helped you! Enjoy your time :)
Thank you so much for this. This update is for sure one of the most cool ones for me. 🥰
Thanks for sharing!! I'll be definitely using those tips 😊
Happy if I was able to help :)
How do you duplicate patches of water like this to create a big lake surface without seeing seams?

You could probably attempt to use it to create hair and clothes physics
and make something materialise or dematerialise
I can't wait to play with these new changes
I can't wait to keep experimenting! :D
woah... ich muss endlich wieder was machen 😯 ... allein das ausschalten bzgl. luma noise... nice 😱
That looks amazing 💖👏🏻👍🏻
Thanks mate! :D
Looking forward to experimenting later 😀
Enjoy! :D
I was wondering how did you make your videos on dreams in such a High Resolution, did you use a video capture card ?
No I actually just use the in built video capture from the PlayStation o:
I'm assuming you are on a standard PS4? It sadly can only capture 720p while the PS4 pro captures in 1080p and the PS5 can even do 4K
Omg i can now make atmosphere for planets!!!!!
CoOol! Thanks for sharing!!!

ist das convert to painting auch neu? ... heftig 🤯
This feels like a game changer
It absolutely is, with so much more to come :D

@@PrinceTahra Glad to hear that you found a solution already :)
B 2 Paint 🔥
Very nice.
Thank you!
Okay i gotta rebuy dreams now...
They need to add better water and glass effects such has clear water and better glass effects.
Beautiful
Thanks!
The water THE WATER *grasps air*
x)
I'm concerned that dreams will only be on the playstation platform and not on other platforms.
I'm sure there's a possibility it will expand to PC at some point!
Holy Shit dude..! 😧 This is insane!!
I know right!! x)
This rules.
