Good on ya, BO. I don’t understand all the BO haters tho - we know SpaceX is ahead but competition is healthy in a free market. Good on Elon for his congratulations & go Starship 7.
The more good rockets the better for all, producers and customers. Congrats. For the first time is normal that something goes wrong, it is even wishful to find errors and advance further.
BO should talk to SpaceX about using starlink for in flight communications so they can stream reliably and add more cameras. I have little doubt Elon would be willing to help them out after all he isn't trying to be an exclusive supplier for orbital services.
That's kind of funny that BO said the 1st stage failed when it lost communication ....yea....RUD will cause that almost every time. What's their production rate look like? How many years until their next attempt?
Newbie question - I thought the 1st stage recovery was to be autonomous? Does the stage have onboard computers that do not need input from ground base?
India does it on extremely low budget, so we don’t expect cameras. Blue Origin needs to have more cameras, coz yes, supports n cheers from nobodies does matter. Many dislike the space race n nothing like video feeds to fight the negativity.
SpaceX has a big advantage being able to communicate up to the satellites, especially with reentry activity, but regardless it was pathetic how little feed was available.
I agree. While I am glad BO got there on the first try, it was boring just watching people scream an watching 1960's type telemetry graphics, it was poorly done and not even close to the excitement of a Space X or Electron launch.
Funny how there’s zero footage of the failed booster landing & the second stage reaching orbit, with spacex proving starship works every second of the journey makes you wonder why new glen didn’t fund on sound video communication
It was very pretty. However, its primary competition is about to become obsolete. Would like most information at the R.U.D. of the first stage. How long will B.O. due to the anomaly.
I dont know why Bezos and NASA is dumping money on this program. Spacex has a lock on this size space transports. Same with Boeings Starliner. Why bother when Crew Dragon is so successful.
When your trying something as ambitious and no one had you attempting to land the booster on the 1st test flight and it doesn't work, it's NOT a setback, because it wasn't part of the prime goals of the mission. An issue with the second stage would be a setback. So far stage 2 is looking good.
There definitely is a market niche for Blue Origin's New Glenn in between what SpaceX is offering. Falcon 9 carries lighter payloads to orbit while Falcon Heavy carries similar weight payloads but is limited by its small fairing size. Starship has enormous fairings but its two stage configuration doesn't lend itself to putting payloads into high energy trajectories such as geostationary orbit or trans-lunar injection. Not without in-orbit refueling which is the direction SpaceX is going but there should be plenty of missions that don't require such enormous launch mass and/or would preferably dispense with the multiple launches for refueling that SpaceX is focused on.
No shit!! What a stupid comment. Elon Musk didn’t design and build rockets either , he may have had some input but it was 1000’s of spacex people who did the work.
Jeff B realizing he'll need many ships to fly before he can land one ~ to little to late ~ where's your next ship jeff? still under construction? How many more Billions will you need to build another one?
New Glenn has high technology readiness level, they reached orbit on first flight. Starship did not yet reach orbit and faced many issues in the development process. Different engineering philosophy and higher ambitions for Starship, but New Glenn is better than you seem to know.
Is there some race going on that only you seem to know about? BO have a half dozen other ships if it's keeping you up at night. You seem pretty stressed about it. Everything OK?
Proof of concept will probably encourage BO reopening lawsuits against their competition and hinder overall progress. So they can maintain relevance by continuing building launch platforms at snails pace.
Did not take him a dozen flights to deliver a payload to orbit. And one failed landing when they did not believe it would happen is not like spacex taking a dozen crashes to get it right. I believe the next launch will result in a landing. And from there basos has said he wants 2 flights a month. They will eventually surpass spacex just like so many have surpassed failing tesla.
Starship is still in testing. They are all test flights. We are allowed to watch it all happen. There has been no attempt to place Starship in orbit or carry any payload. That will come later. It’s odd that so many don’t seem to understand this.
@@daleeasterwood2683 People forget this Blue Origin New Glenn is a competitor to Spacex Falcon 9. Not Starship. Falcon 9 has flown 130+ successful missions just last year.

If Mars did actually have a viable atmosphere and life, landing those machines on Mars surely brought earth-born bacteria, fungi, mould, and viruses to Mars where they could multiply.
As far as I am aware every effort is made to ensure that there is no contamination on anything sent to another planet or moon from spacecraft launched for or by America although I can’t speak for spacecraft from countries like India or China just like every effort is made when samples are returned back to Earth to ensure no spaceborne bacteria or viruses are returned back to Earth

LOL. Your delusional. Let me tell you where Space X is and where Blue Origin is. If this were a highway say I-40 across the US, Elon is near California, Bezos just entered I-40 where it begins in east TN lol. But at least he's now in the rear view and can be seen.. lol. New Glenn has a big fairing, only Starship's is larger and maybe Blue Origin can work hard and get 3 or 4 more built in 2025. Musk could build 20 full ships alone in 2025 or more. Plus, it's one rocket for New Glenn. Blue Origin has no rockets for the equivalent of Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, or Dragon capsule. So the difference in revenue is massive. Bezos just did what Space X did a decade ago and than some. Than we get into all the other tech companies Elon has that generate more revenue. But at least Bezos has this. Looks like a good rocket, taken forever though to get it there but for a 1st attempt success of stage 2? Excellent. But he studied Space X extensively and avoided some of the test pitfalls that Elon had the blaze the way for. Elon isn't shocked, he's more like, "What took you so so long? ".. Better late than never. Didn't stick stage 1 booster but no one does on the 1st try.
When a billionaire has a bigger adn better, "starship", and it's a space craft it's always better than a rocket. New Glenn isn't designed with carrying anyone into space. Starship is. That is also way more challenging than just a big rocket lol. Falcon Heavy's fairing is only slightly smaller than New Glenn's and could carry just about anything New Glenn will be asked to put into space. And imagine they are going to decommission Falcon Heavy when it can do just about anything New Glenn will be asked to put into space lol. Starship can lift significantly more than New Glenn. So why would you think Elon would be humiliated? Laughable. lol. Elon's had Falcon Heavy around, a rocket that can do what New Glenn will be asked to do for about what, over ten years now.. lol Yes, so humiliated and shocked. Stop it, get help.. lol
