Great video! I had these but NEVER used them. They were very hard to sell. Having said that I strongly believe whatever works best for your training and gym then that is all that matters!
The set up I'm planning, involves two small plate loaded cable towers mounted right beside a wall rack, with some little hooks drilled into and attached with washers to the side of the levers. Can't get a more consistent strength curve than 1:1 pulleys. At most, I'll need to get chain or extension cords in case stuff doesn't align perfectly.
Wow killer breakdown. Have had these guys for over three years and basically gave up on them after a bit. Just seemed like a minus to my overall rack setup. Been collecting dust after being taken off a couple years back.
Dylan, Great video and some very interesting and important insight. I have a Rep PR 5000 power rack and Rep Lever Arms. I have spent months trying to figure out different configurations to make my Jammer Arms work for my style of training. (bodybuilding). However, when you explained the 2 minute clip describing the physics of how a lever arm works, it totally made sense to me. (not sure why know one else explained that concept when using the lever arms?). But I attached my spotter arms to my lever arms like yourself and it totally works great!!! I only have to put one 45 pound plate on and I feel a huge difference now. I have only experimented with a couple of movements, however I am sure it will benefit many different movements like you mentioned. I also agree with you regarding how it does not take up time to set up the lever arms if you spend time on your days off from training and experiment with what you want to do and make notes, pictures, etc. of your set up so when you train a certain body part it really only takes a few minutes to set up. I also set up my lever arms in between sets or when I am resting from a set so it is so much easier. (like yourself). Oh and don't worry about Brandon, he helped me out with about 85 percent of all the equipment I purchased when I was making my Garage Gym and he advised me not to purchase the Lever Arms in his opinion! But I still did anyway's. LOL. Don't forget he's a guy that only does 3 movements Deadlifts/Squats and Bench Press and he trains in a Basement!!!! LOL But seriously, great video and a great explanation for someone like myself who is not the most mechanically inclined person. (My wife is the handyman/woman in the house). Ok, thanks again for the video, I hope we don't have to wait another 3 months until your next video?
Great video! Appreciate your content - just found yourself a new subscriber. Quick question - so the purpose of the dual end weight handles with 1" and 5/8" threading is to allow for the 1" to attach to the spotter arms, while the 5/8" allow for a bolt to stick out of the end that a carabiner can loop around? Or what am I missing?
Love the content. Video quality is great as well. I am big on jammers and am gonna permanently put on some half rack feet instead of the spotters with rubber pads so I can flip the spotters and have them out at 90 degrees. Thanks for the inspiration
Thanks for your review. Can I use the Rep Lever arms with the CFT parts instead of the Rouge Arms? Also can you go over or is there a video that you did for the exact handles that you are using and weight horns that you have from that other company CFT? I think you said - it’s the setup that allows you to connect your handles straight through to the arm to the weight horn ? What handles are you using? I’m just trying to make sure that I get the correct parts if I use the Rep arms with are a lower price for me. Sorry for all the questions. Thank you.
No worries! I'm happy to help if I can! So yes, you can use all of the attachments I show in this video with the Rep Iso arms. I have a couple posts over on my IG showing how I have the Mutant Metals handles attached to the CFT weight horns, but they just screw together. The CFT weight horns have 1" threads that are the same pitch as the 1" threads on the Mutant Metals handles. If your lever arms have 5/8" holes it might not work as well, because Mutant Metals doesn't offer 12" long handles with 5/8" threads (my handles are 12" long, 28.5mm diameter, 1" threaded). Hopefully that all makes sense and answers your questions!
Appreciate it! Unfortunately I am so swamped with work and family right now due to the holidays that I don't think I can get a formal video up here until next month. If you check out my Instagram @dkj.fit I've posted a ton of different variations and "hacks" for the lever arms over there! Full videos just take a lot more time.
Appears you did a mod at the pivot/attachment point of the lever arms to minimize the “slop” and side to side movement. Can you describe what you did to minimize the arm? Enjoyed the Instagram pix but could not find this one. Cheers.
Does the price of 532usd worth it to use them only for belt squat? Also the ones i can get don't have trolley system and works only with tightening (something like Titan ones) and i have to drill holes to my safety arms to utilize them better for other exercises. Also i can get ATX belt squat attachment for 448usd and use it only for squats. Thanks for the great review (and sorry for my english) 👍
During the rows in this video, it looks like you have the handle wrapped around the end of the CFT weight horn, but it looks like you have something screwed into the CFT weight horn to keep the handle secure. What do you have attached at the end of the CFT weight horn during rows?
Basically, yeah. I pulled the trolleys apart and removed the existing UHMW from inside them the n applied 2-4 layers of UHMW tape (depending on the thickness you get) and reinstalled everything before putting the trolleys back on. That eliminated most of the side to side play 🤙
On some of your instagram photos of the Rogue 50 cal lever arms there is a circular attachment with a V laser out of it with multiple holes that go around the circle. What is this attachment? Does it allow you to set the lever arms at different starting points? Where can it be purchased?
Mine is a prototype attachment from Vendetta Strength & Athletics. Yup, that's exactly what it does! You can either set different starting points, or completely lock the levers in a position so they won't move at all. Absolutely love them and highly recommend them! One downside is they are only available for the 1.0 rogue trolleys. They are working on a 2.0 version, but no clue how far along it is.
@@DylanKJohnson Nice, thanks for sharing that. When you use it, does it scratch the arms or risk damaging them? Any chance of you making a video using it and demonstrating all the things you can do with it and the 50 cal arms?
Attached to the front uprights and facing "in" to the rack, yes, but if you want to attach them to the inside uprights then no, probably not. The Ares stack would get in the way of any bench you want to place inside the rack, and it would also be extremely difficult to adjust the lever arms due to the weight stacks. It would be even harder if you also have weight storage on the very back uprights as well. hopefully that makes sense and answers your question!

That is correct 👍

Great video but you'll never convince me!!
Ha! That's ok, at least they look good on your rack! Like the hood ornament on a car 🤣
@dylan - watched this one 2x…waiting for the follow up videos on lever arm modifications and movements. Any idea on eta?

What is your tip/solution to getting rid of the play in the trolley on a Rep rack?
Looking for this as well :)

I'm thinking you made the lever arm purchase anticipating the need for modifications to make the most of them. Is that accurate?
That is correct
@@DylanKJohnson Excellent video.
Any tips or pointers for the mod to remove play?
Just bought the system! Is UHMW tape the fix for rogue on rep?

Will the short arms work in the inside for incline press with a 6 post Ares 42 inch depth ?
