During the pandemic I was leaving trail and summit names out of many of my videos due to issues with massive overcrowding on the trail, as well as, issues in regards to what I would consider uneducated or irresponsible hiker behavior. The most notable of which was trash, and human waste / toilet paper I was finding directly on, or just off, trail. I kept some of the trail and location names in this video. If you are using this video for planning purposes, please use the trail responsibly and try to follow leave no trace principles. Thanks for posting this. This was really enjoyable. I have been watching a ton of New Hampshire hiking videos lately trying to pass the long winter days by. I have to say this is one of the best produced and more enjoyable ones i have seen. I appreciate how you let the scenery just speak for itself. But wow was that campsite crowded!
Very interesting. Next month I plan to be in that area doing the Pemi loop and plan on camping at that site. I visited the first time in late June doing the presidentials to celebrate my 60th birthday using the huts to simplify the process and liked them so much I have Lakes of the clouds reserved again.
I don't like hiking on wet rocks and then I see you get to the part where water is running down the trail over the rocks. Yeah, when you pulled out that cinnamon roll, I figured if there were any thru hikers nearby, they would come out of their tents for that smell. Enjoyed this one. John from MI
Love your videos Chris. I go to NH once a year. I’m a guy from Kentucky and I love Kentucky but NH is so incredible. I love the Whites. Those mountains and creeks are so incredible out there. Awesome video and area Chris. 👍🏻👍🏻. I can’t wait to get back there in NH in April. “Live Free Or Die” 😁
Hey Chris. Great video! I met you and your friend up at the Garfield tent site. I am the teacher and Durston fan. It was nice chatting with you guys. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Hi Renee! Great talking to you too. Great to see the Durston pack in person. Will probably see you out there again sometime. Its amazing how many times I run into people again. I ran into a trail runner ive seen 3 times now on Sunday morning haha
Well done Chris. Those views take my breath away even sitting in front of a computer. Great to see Pacho, rocking the Hawaiian shirt, and you back out there. Surprised you both were able to survive after eating those pastries in front of the AT hikers!
We got up pretty late, im pretty sure the only AT people left at the site were the ones waiting for the bathroom haha. Thus we live to see another day!
Good stuff Chris!! Really great views! Nice also to see ya out there with a buddy! Good times! I read the description. Wow!! Crazy coincidence! What are the odds? Take care man. NQU
seriously, mind blowing, theres been some weird coincidences lately regarding the Appalachian Trail and me. I genuinely think its a sign to go back out long term
Seriously! My buddy was like I'm almost positive this is the same time we were up here during 2017 and looked up on his phone. Exact same date 5 years prior. There have been a whole bunch of random coincidences surrounding the AT that seem to keep popping up for me again lately. I think its a sign telling me to go back out again
great to see you hiking with your friend (did we last see him in the winter?), really amazing video of the scenery, tasteful choice of music. Although I have hiked gale head/garfield trails, this now inspires me to hike them as a loop someday. the montage of views of the pemigewasset wilderness was breathtaking and brought back nice memories. thank you
Chris, glad to see you've been making more videos of late. My wife and I really enjoy the chill nature of them and the awesome job you do putting them together. What's your camera setup? I had been looking at getting a gopro for my wife due to the compact nature and internal stabilization but reviews have been very mixed, especially in regards to battery issues. I'm not opposed to other camera styles, that's just what she had expressed interest in.
I own a full Sony and Panasonic mirrorless setup. This video was filmed with the Panasonic s5 and 16-28 sigma f2.8 lens. Some of the other photo gear is listed in the video description too
@@ChrisGoesOutdoors Haha, thanks, now I feel like an idiot for not look all the way down through! I would love to go with a mirrorless setup since it's not as bulky as by DSLR that I hardly use, just not sure if she'd prefer to keep it lighter weight and compact.
What do you think of an October pemi loop first week? like average temperatures at night. I have a 20 degree bag, north face Stormbreak one, and would get a sleeping bag liner. Warm enough? Kelty cosmic down 20 is the bag. Thanks man
As to your comment, I totally hold the same feelings. When my boy and I hiked the AT in the Smokeys I couldn't believe how much people act as pigs!! At least real pigs don't crap near where they eat!!
As always, I love your videos. This is an amazing looking route. I’m planning on attempting a pemi loop next weekend, so it was great to see some of the conditions. - Also, I’m just starting a hiking/mindfulness channel. If you have time, I’d love your opinion on the first video I uploaded.
@@ChrisGoesOutdoors thanks, Chris. And thanks for all the great videos over the years. I’ve really found a lot of value in what you do, and more importantly (for me), they bring me joy.

Great video again Chris! I met you filtering water at Garfield tent site. What a beautiful day. Thanks for all the videos!
Nice chatting with ya for a bit!
Great looking video! Well done. I can almost smell the balsam fir in a few of the shots. :)
They really need smell-a-vision to become a real thing
Thanks for the video it brought back memories. I did that loop hike back in the fall of 94 with at that time my 6-year-old daughter.
Superb summit scapes!
Great video. I hope to see new content soon. Your videos make me feel I’m immersed in the wild.

Spectacular shots folks, atmosphere is simply gorgeous.

Did this trip earlier in the season, that stretch of the Garfield Ledge Trail is brutal!
As always, nice work Chris! The summit clouds made for some interesting videos… and hiking on a waterfall trail was also impressive!
Absolutely think the clouds rolling through a bit make for a better scene haha
Awesome video and hike. I just hit up Hale, Zealand, Guyout, Bond, West Bond and Bondcliff this weekend for an overnight.
Sounds like a great trip! I havent back to the bonds since I first did the pemi loop probably 6 years ago

Chris what tent and sleeping bag are you using as I'm missing my left hand and it would be great to simply stuff it back into backpack? Thanks.
This was the big Agnes copper spur hv ul2 and an enlightened equipment 20 degree revelation quilt

Seems like that should suffice. I’d bring clothing for possible winter like weather and that you could sleep in if the bag alone wasn’t cutting it
