- I put these up with concern that get my channel shut down, because of those other guys.
This is a repost of Part 5. The first ever Tunnel Run, but it may get ripped off here again, plus my content was cut by the Tube.
Everything you all have been asking for. Subscribe so you know when I get each video up. We are heading down into Pt 5 of The Battle in the rockies where the two Gas Goliaths head up the hill, and then down from the Eisenhower tunner. To see if the Big 7.3 Godzilla F-250 can beat Big Red the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500 with the 6.6 L8T V-8 with the 10 speed allison. This is an 8 part series, not the little 8 mile run up and out of the tunnel. No, this is a 174 mile run up and down. Can a Gasser get it done and if so, how does it do?
This is the part 5 13k up the Eisenhower tunnel EB 7 % grade
The alleged big test EB up to Eisenhower was removed from yesterday after record numbers because the other channel claimed trademark rules because they trademarked the name, so my content was taken off because they didn't do this one first. Watch while you can. Thanks.
Check out my other series where the two Gas Goliath Battle for the Win on the Eastern plains in the beast in the east challenge. Link below!
If you are looking for a fun and informative series, subscribe and see this series, with a final winner at the end of the week. Lets break the internet with this video series. Or if not, lets have some fun. below is the link to the series of beast in the east, from there you can watch how each truck does. thanks for being here.

Love the Chevy 6.6 gasser. I’m really happy with my 2022 2500 HD Silverado.
Glad to see the Chevy can do it at speed. Satisfied with my purchase of one now! Afraid to see the end MPG results.
Good to see the video back up.
I watched the Ford video last night too and the Chevy definitely seemed more stable. I said last night maybe you just dodged some of the holes better with the Chevy but I’m interested in hearing your take on it.
Also I’d say you were definitely in 3rd gear here. It’s a 2.06:1 ratio. 2nd gear is a 2.86:1 so no chance of the truck shifting to 2nd at 52ish mph and still turning 4000 rpm. So good job from the 10 speed. The 6 speed would have also been in 3rd gear but it’s a 1.53:1 ratio and it would have been 3000 rpm or less and about 40 mph and giving the extreme elevation probably less. From my experience on steep grades the 6 speed will downshift to 2nd once you drop below 3000 rpm.
What a View !!! Beautiful snow Mountains...big difference from central Pennsylvania...
Might be able to get alway calling it the world’s toughest towing test
😂 probably copyrighted that also.
Glad to see this video. Cool you being “the little guy” got it up for folks to see. Guess what! I don’t need to watch any other channels video on the subject 😂
You should put “gas” in the thumbnail. Some people don’t know the L8T is the gas. Might help garner more views
Finally Glad To See This Video👍
great test, I drive that all the time in my LLY and I'm considering a gasser. looks like it can't deal with the 10k alt with load. My LLY laughs at that grade although I usually go over the top at 12k. I saw the same issues with my very old 5.7L vortec up there
0:38 shifts lock gear sound fast needle
Those "other guys" testing methods with the factory shift programming handicap the truck in that worst-case-possible-scenario. All they had to do was put it in manual shift mode and gear it down when it was holding in 3rd and bogging on that steepest section. GM just went with conservative shift programming. Not a fault. Just the way it is. Anyone who has a lick of sense would just control their shifts manually when towing at the absolute limit.
Good to see it back up! Can't wait to read the comments again. There are truly some butthurt people out there. LOL.
Thanks, nice testing series. It would be interesting to know how much different (better) the Chevy 10 speed would be.
This states it is the 10spd
@@brandonwebb2820 wow yes, my bad!
So you’re the guy they shadow cancelled??? Love it! Even though they denied doing it. Glad to see you didn’t grovel and pay them the “credit” they say they deserve.
Glad to see with a few edits you are back in business!! I unsubscribed to all their channels. I don’t like all the high end trucks that people that actually use their truck for truck stuff don’t buy.
Semi drivers try to maintain momentum as well
If you work your truck hard like that... 0w40 oil will be nice addition
That truck is a beast the reason ford drops its because it's a ford lol
Isn't the Ford moving faster near the end while the Chevy is fading a little?
"...roads in Colorado..." you should see Michigan.
I was looking into a 6.6 gmc or chev and mechanics told me they have big issues with duarbility. Rods ?
I've only heard about the possible oil burning issues. The rods and other issues I believe are on the engines that have MDS or cylinder deactivate. I've only heard great stuff. And I've only towed....and hard with it...and it's crushing it...the zillla I had on the channel, is gone....engine popped after that test...well about a week later.
@@automotiveinquiries9673 So a 2023 or 2024 3500 6.6 won't have the MDS?
@jimbobxcityguy5338 that's 100% correct, the 6.6 l8T will not have any cylinder deactivation or mds. I will have another great tow of the wolf creek pass coming on weds. The L8T in my opinion after driving them all this year, is the best gas HD available.
@@automotiveinquiries9673 I've been busy. I'll try to watch your videos on this comparison fully. I want to know why you like it better then the 7.3. I've always had diesels for my truck camper and now want a HD gasser. I think it would do fine. Or good enough.
What did I miss? TFL get pissed at him or something?
Yeah. They even made a vid about it
How much weight were you towing?
The Eisenhower Endurance TEE Time
I wanna know how it would do with a fat guy taking a dump in the trailer while you’re towing up hill.
The 7.3 looks like it did the run with less effort and rpms.
You ford fanboys are gay
Well it is an option engine, running premium, and larger displacement vs. This base HD engine.
7.3 big block vs 6.6 small block. Small block will rev higher.
Unless I missed something, are you pulling a load?
This series I pulled 12500 with the Chevy and the ford both. On the beast in the east challenge I pulled 15k with both. The ford maxed out at 14700 and the chevy 16500
Those motors will be wore out at 100k miles running that high rpm
Nah, that’s what they are designed to do. 200k on my dad’s 2002 2500hd. Solid truck, beaten to hell towing, ZERO issues. Pay attention to temps, maintenance. It’ll go foevever! My 6.2l in 1500, dead at 26000 miles. Issues caused by cylinder deactivation.
Godzilla sounds much better
Started at 907 call it 908 😂 what kind of timing system is that bs
He definitely needs more consistency.
I used a stop watch end time is in the description. In doing a lot of things trying to focus on a stopwatch with the camera does not work. I quickly glanced at the clock.. shot out a time....patience is a virtue
