@@fftydgh7769 Let me tell you something, Sunny hasn't even begun to take off. And when it does take off, you'll know. Because it's gonna take off so hard that everybody in Philadelphia's gonna feel it
I know its a great drama, but love to see some efforts made on practical football stunts. For example, keeper can just dive on lawn rather than footing.
Ted Lasso is not a drama; it’s a comedy with dramatic situations. Also, it’s not a story about football-according to Jason Sudeikis’ own words-it’s about positivity, forgiveness, self-awareness, being judgmental, kindness, love, friendship, disappointment and self-discovery. “Practical football stunts” are the least of my expectations!
Compared to a lot of TV shows that appeal to Americans it has much better sporting scenes when the guys are playing. Most shows that have football/soccer look embarrassingly fake, Ted Lasso at least puts some effort in.
Ted needs to have a hot torrid affair with a sports law attorney renegotiating his contract from Chicago. A fun redhead that knows real Indiana basketball. Available to get to heathrow quickly from ohare. Hoping for more than just a quick three story arc. 💋
I mean, I absolutely adored the show, but the fact that this gets zero laughs from the audience shows you about how much of a comedy it actually is. When the jokes hit they hit hard, but I was consistently surprised the show is billed as a comedy. It's funny, yes, but not as a default, and not consistently. It's basically a straight-up drama that doesn't take itself seriously all the time and has a general baseline of "cute sentimentality". Kinda like Firefly, but if you replaced Mal's cynicism with Ted's optimism. And fewer people got shot.
@J N Oh, I laughed out loud numerous times. The jokes are good, they're just a bit light on the ground for a straight-up comedy. And each subsequent season seems to have a lower joke density, and a greater lean into the drama. Loved the show, but I cried more than I laughed. There's a reason that in the Honest Trailers people's discussion about making their episode on Ted Lasso one of the first sentences to come out is "the show just isn't that funny". Same reason you can find quotes like "The website's critics consensus reads, "Warm and winsome, if not particularly hilarious..." and "extremely likable throughout, but it's more a hypothetical comedy than an actual one. There are long stretches where Juno Temple is the only actor even trying to sell what few jokes are in the scripts." in Wikipedia's "reception" section on the show. Great show, heartily recommend it to anyone, but it doesn't even really try to be a comedy most of the time, just a light-hearted drama (which is often very heavy).
“Why do you need such constant affirmation” hysterical but also deep in terms of ted’s actual arc on the show 😭
“Yeah.”
Its kinda lame when they have to TELL you the character's motivation. Not very subtle. 😆 good art just shows you.
"Roy here is doing a full day of sponsored silence."
"Am I?"
I bet Rupert hasn’t dreamed of buying Nate a suit.
Roy’s CGI gag is very clever 🤣🤣
I just saw a tiktok about him looking like cgi. And I saw this and thought well its true. But this is really cgi 😂

Meanwhile, Nate and Rupert started a program to take money away from charity.
Roy Kent is my spirit animal
Brett Goldstein is a L.I.L.F Legend I'd like to.... you get it
If Dani Rojas is Jesus, it would be kind of fitting if Nate was playing Judas?
Dani is the Messiah!
Eddie Musters the Scream
Eddie Munch's, as in the artist of The Scream, Edvard Munch.
