Fun Fact: That rat that looks like Alador is actually his pailsmen. According to Dana in one scene when Alador was talking to Odalia while hunched over like a rat. She said it reminded her of Remy from Ratatouille. So one of the board artists drew him as a rat. Dana was like "Keep it. Don't change it."
Glad to finally have that explained.
It was an inside joke Dana had with the animators and producers....it is hilarious that it was added to the final version
Dana stated this in an interview. When Odalia told Alador she would look for a new "business partner," she was actually threatening Alador with divorce papers if he didn't comply (classic narcissist).
At this point Alador finally had enough and said that he quits, so what he really meant was not only was he leaving Blight Industries but also that he was leaving her. Also, Amity, Emira, and Edric disowned Odalia as their mother.
Right before turning the robots on her, I would have said to her, “Consider This both an annulment and my two weeks notice!”
Okay I was wondering about that thats wild if odalia ain't the worst wife/mom on the planet Idk who is
If it was that easy for Alador to stand up to Odalia and leave her without retribution and without her putting up much of a fight, then he could’ve easily just divorced her and took the kids a long time ago.
@@justahumanbeing215 weird take. humans arent robots
@@justahumanbeing215 It's not always easy to leave a toxic relationship (ex. Johnny Depp and OzMedia). And they will use every method of emotional manipulation possible in order to make their partner stay be it physical or emotional (or both).
Odalia was a narcissistic emotional manipulating opportunist and Alador isn't innocent in all this either. Originally Alador was a bad parent too, we just like him now because he finally understood that he needed to change. Alador was so busy with his work, neglected his kids, and pushed them to do things they didn't want to do.
Yes, it mostly due to Odalia's influence. She also threatened to have Amity, Emira, and Edric work under the same conditions he was under. Basically, Alador is an example that parents make mistakes, but he is trying to fix things.
15:30 The four wild witches that were captured are meant to be a reference to several K-Pop artists, namely: Taemin (from SHINee), Jessi, Jeon Jungkook (from BTS) and G-Dragon (from Big Bang) -- in that order.
The artist said they couldn't believe Dana let them do this and that they will always be grateful for letting them do this.
Did they animate them for funsies?
@@xenoemblem7 They were K-Pop fan and they were her favorite artists. Dana probably said something like we need four witches to be captured during the Day of Unity anybody have any suggestions?
As a BTS fan..I am shocked I am just learning that! Omg I love it❤
Oralia wouldn’t be homophonic because the Boiling isles was never introduced to it.
It’s surprising that Philip never claimed that that the Titan hates gay people, but I guess it wouldn’t matter what sexuality his victim were. And that would make more people not want to join a coven.
Better to be efficent or hell considering he makes no sus comments at all Belos just might be the most progressive fucker from the 1600s who is planing genocide.
I always like to joke that Phillip only succeeded in taking over the isles when he stopped preaching homophobia
I figure he just saw it as one more reason to destroy all of them. That since he was going to kill all of them anyway, he didn't have a reason to try and stop them.
I kinda like to joke that he's gay himself and since he's a Puritan it also makes him a massive hypocrite.
Kiss so great she turned Australian
She went from down bad to down under
There's no homophobia on the isles, at all, which means that Odalia gets no credit for not being a homophobe
Makes sense. In a world where witches & demons living together is normal & demons come in a wide variety of forms & magic is the basis of normal life, who's gonna be like "Ew, same gender? That's so cringe it makes me wanna commit crimes." People that closed minded & arbitrary probably wouldn't do well in a magical fantasy world.
Which is part of the reason stories that focus too much on fantastical bigotry tend to annoy me. Most writers make a magical fantasy world & then segregate the characters off so much it ends up being more mundane than the real world. Come to think of it, it's fitting the only bigot complaining about a specific race & a specific type of magic is secretly a human from Earth.
"You can't end an episode like that!"
Little did she know...
Kikimora's demotion to delivery driver is a pun on Studio Ghibi's movie Kiki's Delivery Service.
Luz carving an egg for her palisman is pretty fitting. Unknown possibilities and brimming with potential.
Also the kiss!
Aladors little "But you almost had it sweetie" with the shield. Such a cute lil moment since knowing Amity, she probably did almost break it. Good for her.
It's a shame that the face alador was making was cut out. I think it's really cute to see where Amity got her flustered/angry/blushing face from.
Season 2 approaches the conclusion, but before then we get our Amazingly animated Crickey moment.
I love that Ed and Em led Amity into that "What do you think she'd say" because they noticed Luz out on the balcony.
The fandom positively exploded after _that_ scene. Reactors were going nuts, Elijah actually _hurt_ herself, it was crazy.
Right after the Lumity kiss scene, there's a poster behind Amity and it says "This could be you!" 😂
Fun fact: the "Alador rat" is Alador'
palisman.
The people who were animated differently were the director's favorite kpop idols.
wait really I thought they looked familiar
Alador this episode, in Stolas' voice: "That is the sound of a F*CKING DIVORCE!!!" And he's keeping full custody xd
When I learned that Alicia would be reacting to The Owl House, I knew she would cry over the adorable Lumity gaybies, but this reaction to their kiss exceeded even my wildest expectations. Also, when I kissed my girlfriend for the first time, the next thing I did afterwards was say “ Whoa, Crikey”.
💀
7:44 Gus just unleashed his Domain Expansion
I didn't even think about Luz having the Palisman decide what it wants to be I love this show so much I know there is only one more season after this but I wish it lasted forever.
Amity: I can't believe I just did that
Luz: I can't believe I just said that
Dana: I can't believe I got away with that
Disney: I can't believe I just allowed that
Fans: I can't believe this show is this good
"Maybe he'll make me the new Golden Guard." Honestly, Kiki, that's not a job you want...
11:09 This was the moment that changed lives forever!
And I don’t just mean in the show!🥰🏳️🌈
It's the moment where we as fans lost our collective minds with joy
"No you can't end the episode like this" I love how she has been reacting to every episode like this and it won't stop
I didn’t think the leopards would eat my face!
I think the reason the collector was acting like this is because he’s mimicking Belos that’s why he looks like a shadow
I knew Alicia would cry watching Lumity's first Kiss.
22:38 Alicia: YOU CAN'T END THE EPISODE LIKE THIS
Disney: Screw you, we do what we want.
11:45 well I think that's enough internet for today 😅
And now... the end is near... and so I face... the end most certain. TLDR, I'll miss this daily reminder of the show I found a year too late to watch live
I never noticed till now that “Luz” did the flashstep thing to save Willow, I had to rewind a couple times to make sure I was seeing that right, and when I did I was like ‘holy crap! They foreshadowed it!’
Yeah, Alicia is going to be needing tissues for the finale, she's going to be needing them.
Welcome to this AMAZING two-part season finale! Things are getting real now! Also, CRIKEY!
11:15: THE ANIMATION CHANGE!
the best to reactions to "Crickey" are from Not-So-Average-Fangirl (who got physically injured from that scene) and Wee Lass Reacts (who's fanbase had been winding her up with fake spoilers and overuse of the word *crickey* just to mess with her)
not sure how one spells gayby but i love that you redefine it literally every time you say it
"You can't end the episode like this!"
Looking forward to the finale.
When I first saw this i thought the mom turned alador into the mouse
She should watch She-Ra next
11:10 Cast Sakuga spell!
Let's think about this. Odalia was working with Belos to further his plans to complete the Day of Unity, an event where witch genocide occurs. So not only would she end up losing her family (It's not like she cared for them anyway) to the Day of Unity, but she would've ended up ruling a wasteland with pretty much nobody to rule over. This is pretty fucking stupid on her part.
The reason Odalia isn't homophobic is not a credit to her.. homophobia and transphobia is just not a concept that exist in the isles...maybe Belos is homophobic and transphobic tho lol he was a Conservative human from the 1600s afterall
Creativity becomes cleverness and cleverness becomes genius.
When I say this episode had me in My FEELS 😘🥰🤯🥳
Honestly, now that I think about it, Eda saying that Lilith didn’t have her curse long enough didn’t really make sense. In all honesty, I believe the fact that Lilith already had the Emperor’s Coven sigil is a better excuse because once you get a coven sigil, it’s nearly impossible to remove it, just like it’s nearly impossible to unseal the rest of one’s Magic.
best ep no diff
3:06 Thanks for cutting out the part where Amity got brutally murdered. I don't know what the writers were thinking.
who spotted the switch before it was revealed? (first time)
The lumity kiss 11:09🏳️🌈
Also, something I think is worth pointing out is that everyone that works for Belos that has inhuman features has to cover them up
Warden wrath has to cover his face up, Kiki has the bottom of her face covered, etc
Shows how fucked up he is
Well kikimora is willingly part of the genocide so fuck her.
Yet another item on the list of reasons why I hate this man and easily the most vile and inhuman villain in Disney history!
@@Otisboy121 absolutely, but also seeing how much thought there was put into him to make him so comparible to an actual dictator is really interesting
THE GAYBIES!
If I had a nickel everytime Mela Lee played a short character with an obsessional loyalty to her boss piloting a "mech", I would have two nickel, which isn't much but is weird that it happen twice ^^.
The entire fandom was dancing all over Disney with that kiss. And notice how the animation in the show gets more fluid when a big fight is happening. That kiss was a fight with Disney!
It was a fight with themselvs that they lost because Disney clearly didn't care enough to give upp profit just to be removed from this.
Alright don't need to be cringe, they just really appreciated the scene and put extra work into it because it mattered to them
Don't be a cringe armchair revolutionary
❤
You know what’s crazy? For as crap as Odalia is, I still believe she’s not just doing this for herself.
Crikey!
11:51 I'm gonna need clarifications here cause I can't trust my ears. Am i hearing what i think I'm hearing?
Im not surprised tbh
oh, crikey
YEEEESSS
You muted it there!?
Love it
Down Below
Writing a comment
Crikey
Odalia accepted defeat and gave up way too easily when she’s supposed to be this controlling, fearful and manipulative person.
The show made her an abusive, controlling person yet when Alador’s had enough and finally stands up to her she just accepts it without putting up much of a fight, which shows that Alador could’ve easily stood up to her and divorced her a long time ago.
They are in a dire situation where the world is going to end soon and everyone in that room knows it. The fact that she didn't physically attack her kids doesn't mean she's any less abusive, and if the circumstances were more normal, she would probably sue and bribe until she got custody of her kids and Alador was completely out of the business.
I understand your perspective, though.
What a crikey episode
Amidey dies later on by a curse by Bello's then they sad
Alicia I suggest you give Tom Barkel (@barkel_tom) a massive love for animating the Kiss
The Lumity was Dana way of saying, "Go f**k yourself, Disney!"
Damn bro she really showed disney witch lost less than nothing and genuenly didn't care.
