I think the main reason Belos called Flap "Evelyn" is because Flapjack was the last thing remaining from Evelyn and Caleb's relationship. Flap was what set everything into motion in the first place as he drew Caleb's attention, Belos saying "Goodbye, Evelyn" is more of a metaphor
@@HaydrogenBomb exactly the point and that’s likely why he now calls hunter Caleb because he knows Caleb continues to haunt him and he will never be free of the pain of killing him
CONCENTRATED INDEED. But for real, I would KILL for the 6 min intro and summer storybook to turn into filler episodes, because those would be just too cute and awesome!!

The fact Amity and Gus probably don't even know what coming out is, sexuality and gender labels, and don't know homophobia, it is so incredibally wholesome that they helped.
Fun fact: Gus already knows about Hunter being a grimwalker In kings tide he saw Belos memories with his illusion magic and in this episode he was giving hints that he knew who hunter is with the cosmic frontiers book when he’s explaining the plot especially when one of the character is a clone and when hunter was cosplaying and discussing the book with Gus, Gus said ‘I think he already knew’ and when hunter almost died Luz slipped out the word ‘grim walkers’ Gus was the only one unfazed by that reveal while Willow and Camila were surprised by that
39:59 From "you're not my friend" to "you're family now" 🥺🥺 The first time Luz's words touched Hunter he gave her his name, and now her words touched him so much he actually cried 🥺 The progression of their friendship is just so pure ❤️
I really hope Camilla adopts him 🙁 or at least partially so he can live with her when he visits the Human Realm with Luz and then has his permanent home with Darius! 😭 I wish we could have an entire episode of just him opening up to everyone, that scene made me so emotional!
As a note, Luz does have ADHD intentionally so you're not just reading stuff that's not there, the writers did it on purpose 💜💜 I love how much this show was made for folks like us
@@King_gNoms it stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, it’s a neurodevelopmental condition. Symptoms include trouble regulating your attention, hyperactivity, impulsiveness, trouble with organization, etc..
As a parent of neurodivergent kids, I really love how much Camila's life and perspective was revealed in this episode. It's challenging to deal with the world as a neurodivergent person. It's another challenge trying to be a parent helping, provide good guidance, being uncertain and having ones own issues that play into how the world sees US and our children.
I cannot stop watching this premiere, and every time, 3 things are constant. 1. I feel bad for Hunter at almost every scene 2. My heart drops when Luz says in her video diary "I think this might be the worst week ever." 3. I break down into tears at Flapjacks sacrifice UUGH! Why did Disney have to end one of the best shows they ever aired so early!!!! Pride clouded their judgement, and it was the wrong kind of pride!
I think disney only approved this show in the first place because it was token representation for the LGBTQ+ community so they could claim allyship and they didn't think it would be that popular but then when it started to get popular they backtracked and said no this has to end so they canceled it
@@PizzaMadeMeFatknowing Disney that’s what happened but then the show was good got popular and they got worried since now it wouldn’t fly under the radar in Russia, China, Taiwan etc
15:25 - Camila doesn't just have six kids now, she has six _teenagers._ 18:00 - Luz, if you project any harder, they're going to start storing you in the AV room. 39:45 - I love how when the mask goes on, the Golden Guard comes out. 42:30 - All of their costumes are great, but Amity is just _killing_ it. Also, when Jacob interrupts the play to accuse Gus of being a witch, there's a person on the left side of the screen dressed as Grime.
I can't get over the way Elijah jumped back when she saw "lumity studios", and her screams of joy when Luz came out... This is the level of happiness the entire fandom feels multiplied by about a thousand!
I was pleasantly confused at first because I don’t think I ever saw or heard the word “Lumity” in the actual show before that moment. Only the fans had said “Lumity” to this point. But when I saw that it was Luz’s adorable way of coming out to her mom, I was so happy and couldn’t contain my smile. That was great. And so in character for Luz.
@@MegaSpecter8105 It’s entirely possible that Camila is also Bi, or that Luz’s dad was. Luz was clearly confident that her mom would be supportive (judging by the silly, smiley way she approached coming out) so that’s my theory
As a bisexual. Seeing it explicitly spelled out in no uncertain terms that LUZ IS BI even while in a relationship really affected me, it hit me in such a powerful way. I am so used to seeing us get erased at every turn, ESPECIALLY when we have a partner, so to have Dana and team say that LUZ IS BI so explicitly actually made me cry real tears (the good kind). I also love that we got confirmation that Amity is a lesbian! It's nice to see that even while their relationship is Sapphic as a whole, they still have their own sexulaties that don't change based on their relationship status. (And yeah definitely not just you that thought they would kiss again in the rain). Also, Masha is DEFINITELY the same character who gave Vee the tarot reading in the episode we met her in, which means they probably remember her from the camp! And yeah, Camila Noceda, mother of the goddam century. I'd like her and Greg Universe to get together and talk shop about being fantastic parents.
Actually Masha probably wouldn't remember Vee from camp, since she was disguised as Luz back then (although it does seem like they saw something familiar in Vee since they asked if they knew her from somewhere else)
One thing I saw pointed out that people overlook is that Belos got hit by a car. This 300 year old witch hunter got hit by a car while possessing a deer. Also, that since Philip was biding his time inside Hunter, he heard the entire dramatic retelling of his story on the hayride, and then immediately after heard Masha say that they thought "big bro got a hot witch girlfriend and lil bro got upset."
i as a latin person, bisexual and adhd. I was so happy with this episode, we had moments speaking in Spanish, Luz coming out of the closet and a metamophora (actually for me it was clear as light Of the day) that both Camila and her daughter are neurodivergent and I think is so cool cuz there's no many Canon representation in cartoons, It is usually only revealed when the series is over.
Characters like Gus and Hunter are also very neurodivergent coded as well. More than anything, their friend group consists of neurotypicals and neurodivergent people just being friends and happy together. And I love that.
Y'ALL WANNA KNOW SOMETHING CRAZY?! So in the episode "Reaching Out" at the part when she gives amity her phone it says "GRAVESFEILD Grave yard" on the little reminder- y'all😭 SO THEY WERE FIGHTING POSSESSED HUNTER AT GRAVESFEILD GRAVE YARD RIGHT?! LUZ ENDED UP FIGHTING BELOW/HUNTER AT THE PLACE HER DAD WAS BURRIED- Y'ALL REALIZE THAT RIGHT 😭😭 (yes I did like my own commet)
A thing to keep in mind: Every member of the Clawthorn family has a bird for a palisman. Eda has an owl, Lilith has a raven, Gwendolyn has a hawk, Dell has a cardinal. The only other character in the entire show with another bird is Hunter, and we now know that Flapjack was originally Evelyn's palisman. So I'm calling it, Caleb and Evelyn are Eda's ancestors.
@@lunari4862 Maybe her name comes from the other side of the family? [Whichever parent married the Clawthorn , since I'm not sure which one of their parents was an ancestor]
"Hey, I'm making flapjacks, do you want some?" Normal Person: "Oh yeah I love pancakes! Thanks!" Owl House Fans: *inconsolable sobbing and crippling emotional trauma*
I think the reason why Luz’s palisman could be a serpent is because snakes are usually a symbol of transformation and healing, either physically or mentally. Not only that, they also represent a creative life force (which Luz is absolutely creative!)😋😋
Everything about this episode was great. The opening montage, the scenes with Camila being a good mom, the scenes between Luz and Hunter, and the most freaking painful Disney death I've seen in years.
I love this episode. There were 3 moments that made me almost cry 1. Finding out luz is basically suicidal based on her big thing in class 2. "You're family now" 3. The whole finale from the point luz grabbed hunter begging him to fight off belos to the end of the episode
I totally get the suicidal bit with Luz. Especially during the video diary bit, that really stuck with me as sounding like a note of some kind. Makes me... Very sad
@@deebee9383 Dana did mention that the series will not have a true happy ending due to this information that has been given to us should we be scared for our little light PS do you think due to flapjack infuse themselves with Hunter now Hunter is able to do magic now
I just realized something - a reason for why Vee could speak and learn Spanish so quickly is because she’s a Basilisk. She’s had to learn to adapt to situations quickly, which is why she was able to learn Spanish so quickly.
I had a feeling that Flapjack's death was going to happen, but it still hurts. Like I said, this needed to happen for Hunter to completely break free of Belos' influence. Flapjack bound himself with Hunter’s heart. His soul is now one with Hunter’s. I’m hoping Hunter can now do the teleport thing as a sign that Flapjack is a part of him. Please make this happen, Dana! 🥺🙏
Based on Evelyn's cardboard cutout, she was the one to carve Flapjack--he appears in her hand as she "lures" Caleb through the portal. That "Goodbye, Evelyn," was just Philip being spiteful. Destroying the last connection between the witch who "stole" his brother from him, no matter if it was just an innocent little bird.
i mean.. Owlbert lured Luz to the demon realm. maybe Evelyn didn’t intentionally lure Caleb, maybe she also collected human junk with Flapjack’s help and this caught his attention
@SpeaksTooSoon Yeah, Caleb was definitely a crasftman himself since he was the one who carved Phillip's witch hunter masks. This trait definitely would have allowed Caleb to connect with Evelyn or see the art of palisman carving as fantastical. Speaking of which, Hunter also has that craftsman spirit with his interest with sewing :) it's so cute
Another reason why Luz's palisman might be a snake is that snakes hatch out of eggs!🐍🥚 Btw the things that were banned from the art room were the things Luz brought to school on the first episode.
Disney : “you have 6 minutes to catch everyone up” TOH Crew : “challenge accepted” Challenge was MURDERED EDIT: Eligah, I feel you… my mom suspected that I was autistic when I was 4 years old, but I wasn’t diagnosed with it until I was 21… I see A LOT of my own mom in Camilla, especially the unconditional support and love!
(Yo same here, my mom and grandma suspected I had autism and got me tested before I was even 5 years old, but I was never told about it and only found out & got re-evaluated for a more accurate diagnosis at 21.)
When Belos took over Hunter, I was like "oh crap, the kid got Darcy-ed". Seriously, though, I'm pumped for the next episode and to see Eda meet Camila.
In some ways it’s worse than Darcy. The Core wanted and needs her in good physical condition. Belos would have used Hunter’s body up and then discarded him like a chicken carcass.
An interesting aspect about Luz's guilt is that it's more than just the fear that her friends and girlfriend will hate her if they learned about her mistake. She goes so far as to think they should be mad and that she deserves it. And in the past, even when people have assured her that it's not her fault, she almost refuses to believe that and will force herself to be held responsible until Eda or someone else has to intervene. It's an self-destructive level of self-loathing and insecurity. Luz entirely defines herself and her worth by how much of a burden she is on her loved ones.
Wow… reading this comment was like a punch in the gut. I just started therapy and have been trying to figure out this same thing. I just so happen to click this video and read this comment… damn. I think ur spot on with Luz though and I really like the direction they r taking her with the writing.
as someone with adhd, i've definitely been there before with Luz's feelings, and it reads a lot to me like some pretty heavy rejection sensitivity dysphoria. usually it just makes people sensitive to rejection or perceived instances of it, but when i was at my worst with depression i found myself almost embracing it because i felt like i deserved to be rejected, to be hated, that those "perceived instances" should be real.
Plot twist: Dana Terrace saw Elijah’s reactions and decided to model one of Luz’s younger selves off of her hairstyle. Also when you describe ADHD the way you do it made me really understand how similar ADHD is to Autism. I’m autistic and I often drift off unintentionally in class when it’s not one of my interests. Fortunately, my teachers and classmates are really nice and explain it to me.
Idk if anyone else has said this yet, because I know Im late to this episode, but I love the idea of Luz's palisman being a snake, I think it ties back to the metaphor with the idea of the snake shedding its skin and growing bigger and stronger, this episode really sets it in stone for me.
“Time to go home, Flap…” Also! Evelyn was totally a Clawthorn, so many things line up! From Eda being the one with the portal door, to What-a-bitch keeping and eye on Lilith by having her the head of his coven, to how similar Hunter and Eda say “byeeeeee”, there’s no way she’s not an ancestor of the Clawthorn clan.
Theory : Belos said "Goodbye Evelyn" when he squashed FlapJack because FlpaJack is the only thing remaining that has ties to Caleb and the witch he fell in love with
I agree, Evelyn had Flapjack either as her palisman or made one for her boyfriend Caleb but I'll bet that Belos murdered her and Caleb either separately or together. I bet when Luz or someone in the gang mentions Evelyn to Eda or Lilith while telling about what happened to Flapjack, they'll know who she is and fill in the gap for us.
@@oprime I seem to recall Eda's mom talking about a grandmother or great-grandmother who knew other humans who had come to the Boiling Isles. That was probably Evelyn, so if Eda or Lilith don't know, mom will.

I'm literally sobbing right now, I know it's just a kids TV show but this means the world to me. The whole thing with Hunter panicking and Flapjack's death at the hands of Belos goes on so many levels, Luz finding herself, etc. Everything is so cool!
I'm pretty sure I almost cried during Hao's arc in Kung Fu Sock (Kung Fu Wa in the latam dubs and Tian Zheng and Kung Fu Sock in the original chinese dub), and so I did here. Both kids shows (though Kung Fu Sock is aimed at an even younger audience), yet they almost made *me* cry (something almost impossible with a movie or tv show). PD: I binge watched the second half of Kung Fu Sock in chinese, so yeah I watched all of the Hao Xiue (Hiro Hao in all the american dubs) arc episodes in one go and Hao trying to reach out to TZ was just so... idk how to explain it. Plus, my favourite Hao phrase/quote ever is in ep39 (last episode of the possesed Hao arc a.k.a. the Haonipulens Arc by the fandom), which translated from chinese is: *"I WILL NEVER ALLOW YOU TO HURT HER!!"* ~Hao Xiue, 2021
Gus just making multiple versions of himself holding flags about things he doesn’t even know about and waving them around just for Luz and Amity just shows how much of a supportive friend he is.
I’m surprised Elijah didn’t notice that the sword that Luz uses to cut her hair is a reference to Shera. And then she has a drawing of Adora in the back of one of the diary videos
I also found that possessed hunter was *EXTREMELY* similar to chipped Catra as if they took inspiration. I did a side-by-side with the first scene with possessed hunter facing the screen and that one popular photo of chipped Catra that’s like the first screenshot if you look it up. They’re doing the same pose, literally have the same eyebrows, pointy ears, hair in face, the expressions the same when hunter says “luz” after his line, the head tilt- I mean it’s literally the same. Also the fact it has the voice combination when he talks.
Me at the beginning of the episode:"This mama, is ready for some emotional trauma!" Me after/at the end of the episode:"I wasn't ready. I WASN'T READY!!" 😭
Pretty sure she was already this same character too, when Vee was pretending to be Luz, she met them at camp then saw them again during the episode with the museum. That's why they feel like she's familiar from somewhere.
She’s definitely one of the GOATs of voice acting. It legit feels like she’s had a role in every animated show in the last 20-25 years. She’s so awesome and I always recognize her.
@@HaydrogenBomb not necessarily, Grey Griffin is actually quite versatile. For example, she voices Madame Razz (an elderly wise/senile woman) in She Ra.
If I remember correctly the snake was a callback to episode 1. And hearing about how Luz knows how snakes shed their skin as they grow could also be a metaphor for them all growing and changing to.
There is a lot of symbolism and “show don’t tell” in this show. For example, Belos with buck antlers but is literally the opposite of prey - literally possessing Hunter (being a parasite) and hunting witches (being a predator).
Also the snake skin looked kinda like the "wild magic" scar on Belos' face and Luz said something about it getting bigger and now there's a snake that's a little bit bigger out there somewhere and I think that's also a reference to Belos possessing the animals then disposing of them, getting stronger, and moving onto something bigger.
A couple years ago, I lost my elderly cat who was basically my best friend, and ever since, animal deaths in shows and books just get to me in a way they never did before. Flapjack's sacrifice hits me so hard every time I see it. Just his love for Hunter and his willingness to give his life for him is so unbelievably touching and heartbreaking. ❤💔❤
What I love about Luz is that I always had a feeling in the show that she was neurodivergant and, as a neurodivergant person, everytime I watch her in the show I would always be like “Dude, I would do that to!” and then recently found out Dana confirmed Luz was coded neurodivergant and I felt so happy and I totally understand why she feels like everything is her fault when something goes wrong as I do that as well. She is one of my favorite protagonist and I love her so much. Love the reactions! Edit: I also had no idea you had ADHD so I’m so happy to find another neurodivergant creator!
Elijah: "Hello there!" Me (Star Wars Nerd): "General Kenobi!" This episode was so friggin' great! Totally worth the wait! Screw Disney for cutting the series short, but I'm happy Dana and her team are making the most of it and gave us such a spectacular start to what's sure to be an amazing finale! Camila reminds me so much of my best friend's Mom. That lady basically adopted me into her family and considers me one of her babies. I love how Gus and Hunter are now total sci-fi Nerds and I love that Cosmic Frontier is just a straight-up Star Trek reference and all the characters they mentioned are references to a handful of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine characters! Captain Avery is named after actor James Avery who played Commander/Captain Benjamin Sisko, O'Baily is a nod to Chief O'Brian who was the Chief Engineer, and Quando is a combination of the names of 2 characters, Quark the shady bartender and Odo the Chief of Security. Also, Gus and Hunter's costumes are the right colors for command and ops in the Next Generation/Deep Space Nine/Voyager Era of Star Trek, so that's nice to see. I also love everyone's new looks! They all look amazing! I'm also happy they gave Vee her own unique human look. It suits her perfectly! One of my favorite parts is where Gus interrupted that history reenactment and defended the witch. That was adorable! The scrapbook was so cute!! If we're not getting a full proper season, I hope we get a comic series based on every one of those memories! This episode was great and I can't wait for the next one!
Flapjack died at the hands of Belos, being Caleb's murderer who was Flapjack's sorcerer. I can't imagine Flapjack's feeling of hatred towards Belos and how sad that he died at the hands of him but managed to save Hunter by being the closest thing to Caleb he had ever seen. I am saddened by his death but we all know that Belos will pay for what he did, everyone ends up doing it.
I don't think Flapjack is dead. We already know from season 2 that a palisman's essence, its soul, lives on inside the being who consumes it. I think Flapjack is alive inside Hunter and may even come back in a physical form since Hunter's body is partially made of palistrom wood.
@@jimballard1186 I think you're right about Flapjack living on within Hunter but aside from a trip into Hunter's mind, I doubt we'll ever see Flapjack again. I wonder if Caleb's eye were originally brown? Yes, I'm aware that they're the color of Flapjack's eyes but if Evelyn made Flapjack for Caleb, then wouldn't she make the eyes match?
A theory I read was that Luz's palisman might be a basilisk, to match Vee, which means it could be a snake, owl, bat, otter, etc., depending on its mood. Or it could be a snake and Vee being a basilisk could be more foreshadowing. Also. little details you might have missed: Camila might have anxiety, that water imagery really makes me think of anxiety and it also lines up with how anxiety was portrayed (a few times) in Steven Universe; Masha is Vee's goth friend from Yesterday's Lie; the enemy Azura is fighting in the movie looks a lot like Luz, especially pre-timeskip Luz; Willow and Amity looking very unimpressed by Hocus Pocus and the human portrayal of witches; Luz's desktop could be foreshadowing for the Collector; the knife Little Phillip is running with in the backstory segment is the same knife he used to kill Caleb with; Camila probably forgot the Azura book was from Luz's dad, hence why she didn't try to stop Luz from throwing it away in the first episode, which also makes Luz's decision to throw away more meaningful and her immediate desperation to get it back from first Owlbert and then Eda more understandable; when Flapjack dissolves, you can (maybe? I think?) still hear their peeping in the lights they turn into. Love your content!!
This was such a love letter from the creators, it was so awesome how they squeezed so much into so little time. Just shows how talented they really are
When Belos said "Goodbye, Evelyn", he was most likely referring to the witch who carved Flapjack, aka Caleb's gf (or wife, idk). He said "Goodbye, Evelyn" because he was destroying something that Evelyn made for his brother. Something made by a witch. Something made for witchcraft. Something he LOATHED. So of course he would relish and savour the moment, basically saying "I have finally destroyed and killed every last trace of your existence. You no longer exist. And I'm relishing in that fact. So goodbye forever, Evelyn."
Marsha, The character Grey is playing is not new. Thats the goth kid who read Vee's horoscope in Yesterday's Lie! So this is one of the kids Vee attended camp with and loved Vee's eyes and look. The fancomics have been shipping these two for a year easily!
4:42 and 5:19 _CALLED IT!!!!_ See, when it comes to Elijah and Lumity, I've come to expect two things: 1)Her letting out a small "aw" or squeak of excitement and smiling brighter than what should be _humanly possible_ or 2)Elijah _absolutely dying_ of happiness and just flat-out losing her shit and praising Dana and the crew for giving Disney the middle finger with all this sweet, sweet LGBTQIA+ representation we're getting. You can't deny the fact that Elijah's Lumity reactions are just the _GOAT!!!_ And if her reaction to the Lumity kiss didn't convince you otherwise, then y'all can go fudge yourself.
There's no way Dana snuck any of this past Disney, and she doesn't control what they air, so the only (and extremely obvious) explanation is that they allowed her to add it.
I got into TOH from this channel, and this reaction was one of your best yet. Everything about this episode punched me in the chest. Luz’s tirade (this girl isn’t planning on staying on earth, she’s planning on staying in it), Hunter realizing he’s loved, Camila’s heart-to-heart with Luz, Lumity being adorable, VEE BEING PART OF THE SQUAD! (and blushing toward Masha), Belos being Belos and THEY FUCKING KILLED FLAPJACK. I had to take a solid hour to cry afterwards. And tell me why I was envisioning your reaction as I watched it lmao. Thanks Elijah for all that you bring to the TOH fandom! ❤️❤️❤️
It just struck me that the reason why Luz's palisman might be a snake is because screech owls actually have a tendency to keep snakes as housekeepers for their babies
i think Luz has her palisman in her little fannypack thing. they made it a point to show us the egg while she was in school and there was a whole scene where she was talking to it at her moms work. part of the reason they did that was most likely to show us she takes it everywhere
I feel like the reason Camilla had those memories of Luz as a child and the whole bit with the counselor recommending the camp as a nightmare is because she feels guilty for Luz having gotten stuck in the demon realm. She might feel as if her pushing Luz to be 'normal' is what inevitably made her 'run away' to escape to a fantasy she found more appealing than our reality.
For Luz’s Palisman, it is most likely a Snake, since there was a small focuses on snakes, like during the dream sequence and other hints through out the episode. Also it is symbolic since Snakes shed their skin in order to grow and for Luz, she needs to “shed” her past mistakes to grow and move forward. Also there might be a chance the Snake might be a Winged Snake
It's also a cool nod to Camila's profession as a healthcare worker. A staff with a single snake is called the staff of asclepius, and it is the symbol for medicine and health related professions due to asclepius being the man turned god of medicine. +not to mention that it would work as a symbol of luz's own ability to help/heal others (and hopefully herself)
You mention how Luz's voice sounds deeper and how it was to show that she was getting older. While that's certainly possible, I think it's more likely intended to reflect her emotional state. Luz is generally a cheery and energetic individual and that normally comes across very clearly when she speaks, however, in this episode she feels incredibly hopeless and dejected. I think the noticeably less upbeat way she carries and presents herself here is to more thoroughly convey those struggles and how they're impacting every aspect of her life 🤔 An impressive execution of voice acting and directing either way!
I know Dana wants us to not focus on the bad, but man, it was difficult to not look at some scenes and say "Oh this would have been expanded into episodes." Or "This scene would have been an entire episode."
Such a healthy representation of relationships (romantic, familial and friend). Honesty is the best policy. Loved, cared for, and supported mistakes and all. Be open and honest and we can work through it together.
Belos is really good at possessing dead matter, and Hunter’s body was made with animal parts, so that makes sense… And the Titan is a giant magical corpse with a beating heart behind Belos’s throne that was synced to Belos’s heartbeat, and the Coven Head vision of the Day of Unity had a cut version where the Titan stood up…. Oh…
Okay, here's a fact, when I watch Elijah reaction to The Owl House Season 3, this is what I expected: 1. "we're watching that again" first of all 2. Screaming about lumity especially. 3. Find the BI flag "of course" 4. She will probably cry... 5. Or... Um... maybe more. Well, Happy to see you back. Elijah!!! 🥰🥰🥰
As a Latinamerican, seeing them learning Spanish was hilarious. The tongue twister Vee was practicing is different in my country tho. I supposed that things vary depending on the country, but it was still surprising to hear that way because my version is even more difficult. Anyways, this episode was so good. From the kids experiencing the human realm, from Luz's coming out, to Hunter being happy for once in his life only for him to get freaking possessed and then lose his friend. Everything was sooo good. Also, I'm more convinced than ever that the witch the Wittabane brothers met was a Clawthorne. First her name is Evelyn, and my theory is she created de portal door so Caleb could go between worlds without any problem. So once Caleb died, Evelyn hid the door on her family house so that Phillip wouldn't find it, and that is why Eda found it bury on her garden years later. And that would also explain the similarities between Flapjack and Eda' father palisman, an why Gwendolyn said a witch of their family knew a human once.
The NotDuolingo threatening them was hilarious 🤣 I learned German in school and one of my proudest moments was when I did a summer exchange to Germany as a teen and was able to say a German tongue twister that one of my host sister's native speaking friends couldn't. Gt thrown when another of her native speaking friends gave me a subtly different one. 'Twas too much for my English speaking brain to manage at the time 😂
@@lenaroselavazza7033 Same, actually. And my son is high functioning as well. He’s too young to be diagnosed with ADHD, but I think it’s a high possibility
I'm not diagnosed but I've never felt more at home than in the ADHD community. Interacting with people always drained me.. I'm either seen an clumsy or an airhead/stupid (mostly because I overthink instructions given to me and it gives the people the impression that I can't understand "basic" directions). I laugh with them...haha silly me... ...but it still hurts.
Believe it or not, I came out as Bi to _my_ mom just last week! And yes, that scene right there was part of my inspiration for doing so. The rest was my _own_ feeling that this is what I truly am. So therefore… 💖💜💙 Hi! I’m Bi! 💖💜💙
I’ve been waiting patiently since Saturday for this reaction and, suffice it to say, everyone shed tears for Flapjack. My man did NOT deserve to go out like that, and I can only hope he’s still alive in Hunter’s body.
you're like my role model, you're really helping me with me because of my disabilities and makeing me fell about better about myself and in other ways and thank you for that.
The end made me cry like a baby, and it hurt how well Luz's depression was depicted but oh man I'm so excited to see how things go. Sucks they couldn't do more but at least I know Dana and the crew will do their damn best to give us something satisfactory. Can't wait to see Camila kicking ass in the demon realm.
Okay so about the name Evelyn, I have a theory on who that could be and IM PRETTY SURE ITS A CLAWTHORNE. According to TOH wikipedia Edalyn has a grandmother named Evelyn Clawthorne. Assuming this is true that would mean they had to have had a child together, and the question is who? NONE OTHER THAN DELL CLAWTHORNE! Dell Clawthorne has a YELLOW CARDINAL PALISMAN reminiscent of flapjack (rip flap). So I think Phillip was upset NOT ONLY bc Caleb got together with a witch, but he also had a child. To further this theory there’s a photo in Phillips Memory that looks like Caleb was telling Belos something, I think he was telling him about the pregnancy. AND THATS THE DAY PHILLIP KILLED HIM! idk it could be a stretch but Dell comes from a line of palistrome carvers and the reason could be bc him being “half a witch” his magic isn’t as strong without one EDIT: I JUST REMEMBERED THERES A PHOTO WITH THE WITCH HOLDING CALEB’S HAND AND SHE LOOKS PREGNANT FURTHERING MY THEORY
@@WyvernRex2099 Good point! It could also be Gwendolyn as their daughter which would explain why she was the only one that knew about another human before Luz who lived in the Boiling Isles. I hope that next episode we get a little more information on Caleb and Evelyn 🤞
I really like the parallels between Eda and Camilla when it comes to being a mom. Even though Camilla has clearly been a mother for longer, Eda fell into the role amazingly. Camilla is trying to find food for these kids she’s only known for a few months and Eda did the same thing for luz even going out of her way to spend more money when they were dirt poor to get luz food she’d actually like.
I love how Dana and the team knew they were limited to 3 episodes and just decided to go full out with the reason they were cut/cancelled. Bi Luz is AMAZING!!!
I feel like Gus already knows about Hunter being a Grimwalker. He didn't react at the reveal, and brought Hunter into the Frontier story with a character he could identify with. He fully saw Belos's memories, didn't he?
Anyone else notice Luz's snake skin Camilla saved is displayed as the ouroboros symbol? An emblem of wholeness or infinity. Luz's depression and blaming herself for "not doing anything right" kinda mirrors Hooty's in "Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Hooty's Door"
Dana said they just go with the flow when it comes to the story which is insane (and smart) because this episode should get the heat of Camila…. People always say she was bad in episode one but this makes her SO relatable... She cared, regret, and protected Luz… But was suggested from the principle.
Exactly. She said in the earlier episode focusing on Vee that she didn't want Luz to throw out her whole personality. She was scared for her daughter. Parenting is hard, there is no walk through guide. The tightrope of balancing nurturing your child's true self and strengths and interests while also teaching them how to function in society, with it's precarious balancing act built upon absolutely ridiculous foundations that are being pruned and carved away so painfully slowly, is impossible.
Btw in the class scene, she's talking about herself, and when she said "and it would be better, if he literally, never existed!" Is just her saying she wished she stopped existing ;v; ANDDDD, BELOS THE BISH WAS EATING HUNTERS ORGANS AND STUFF WHICH EXPLAINS WHY HUNTER DIED FOR A LITTLE AND THEN CAME BACK😭😭😭😭
for the palisman question i could see luz having a quick freak out that she forgot it, but camilla came prepared with it. even calling herself a abuela when it hatches.
Luz’s dad dying of what seems to be a terminal illness explains why she was so obsessed with finding a cure for Eda’s curse.

Exactly. People are looking too much into it, just like when Belos saw him and said "Caleb!"

@ɪᴍ.ǫ4 but hunter and gus literally call refer to flapjack as "he" though

When Belos took over Hunter, I was like "oh crap, the kid got Darcy-ed". Seriously, though, I'm pumped for the next episode and to see Eda meet Camila.
That's in ep 3(camila and eda meeting)
Me when DARCY and HELOS debut: *"They got BIPPER-ed"*
Have you seen The Part of Luz That Is Overlooked| A Psychoanalysis of Luz Noceda? The video is really good.
“Time to go home, Flap…”
Also!
Not to mention edalyn Gwendolyn and Evelyn are all very similar names and the first too are guaranteed related
Evelyn is definitely a Clawthorn. I think everyone in the fan base is calling it.
Also fits with all the Clawthorns having a bird palisman

@@HaydrogenBomb not necessarily, Grey Griffin is actually quite versatile. For example, she voices Madame Razz (an elderly wise/senile woman) in She Ra.
If I remember correctly the snake was a callback to episode 1. And hearing about how Luz knows how snakes shed their skin as they grow could also be a metaphor for them all growing and changing to.
In the scene of Luz at school, she’s wearing a caduceus shirt. Which is literally just a snake on a staff
Elijah: "Hello there!"
Me (Star Wars Nerd): "General Kenobi!"
This episode was so friggin' great!
I'm not gonna lie, when Luz revealed her dad was how she got into the Azura series, that made me legit cry😢
I think Camilla's officially one of (if not the) best cartoon moms after this episode. And she's an OG Trekkie!
Actually, that's Deep Space Nine, not the original.
@SpeaksTooSoon exactly 🥰😂🥺👍
I absolutely love the Lumity moments and the scene willow cut hunter’s hair like-
Flapjack died at the hands of Belos, being Caleb's murderer who was Flapjack's sorcerer.
@@oprime I think statistically, the odds are highest Caleb's eyes were brown, but that's a pretty limp confirmation for me to offer.
@@jimballard1186 Considering they were both humans, brown eyes are pretty common. But then I can't remember what Phillip's eye color was.
@@oprime Phillip's eyes seem to be a very light blue.
Look back at the scene of Luz at school. She’s wearing a shirt with a caduceus on it. That’s legit a snake on a staff
@@booksandbutterflies2151 And there;s that too
This was such a love letter from the creators, it was so awesome how they squeezed so much into so little time.
That's what I was thinking

Whenever Elijah says something about not wanting to cry or this being emotional, I just think “don’t worry; it gets worse”
Literally. I kept telling myself it'll get better but nope. It gets even worse!!! 😃
24:25 to 25:30 almost made me cry! 😭 You slay SOOOOOOO hard, Elijah! Don’t let anyone get you down!! 😊
Marsha, The character Grey is playing is not new. Thats the goth kid who read Vee's horoscope in Yesterday's Lie! So this is one of the kids Vee attended camp with and loved Vee's eyes and look. The fancomics have been shipping these two for a year easily!
4:42 and 5:19 _CALLED IT!!!!_ See, when it comes to Elijah and Lumity, I've come to expect two things:
1)Her letting out a small "aw" or squeak of excitement and smiling brighter than what should be _humanly possible_ or
2)Elijah _absolutely dying_ of happiness and just flat-out losing her shit and praising Dana and the crew for giving Disney the middle finger with all this sweet, sweet LGBTQIA+ representation we're getting.
You can't deny the fact that Elijah's Lumity reactions are just the _GOAT!!!_ And if her reaction to the Lumity kiss didn't convince you otherwise, then y'all can go fudge yourself.
Don't forgett 3) "We need to rewatch this"
@@J_to_the_F Of course, you have to add 4) Break shit/hurt herself flailing from excitement xD
@@LoreCatan I love how we have an "Elijah Lumity-Bingo" figured out at this point 😅
Disney giving the permission for the scene:
There's no way Dana snuck any of this past Disney, and she doesn't control what they air, so the only (and extremely obvious) explanation is that they allowed her to add it.
When "Evelyn" gets said,i immideatly thinks about Eda's name "Edalyn"
I’m late but her moms name is also Gwendolyn so it’s extremely likely Evelyn was Eda’s ancestor
So is Hooty a snake owl as opposed to a worm owl?
@@carpevinum8645 makes sense! we HAVE seen him hiss when threatened 😂
Oh hey that's cool
eda....kept luz...cus she helped king....aka her baby...oh my gosh
You just made me remember how much I'm looking forward to Camilla meeting Eda.
i think Luz has her palisman in her little fannypack thing. they made it a point to show us the egg while she was in school and there was a whole scene where she was talking to it at her moms work. part of the reason they did that was most likely to show us she takes it everywhere
Dana really said “I don’t think Hunter has enough scars”
Both physical and emotional.

"Spirit Devourer" poster at 47:03.
Luz is now my favorite Disney character. She has EXCELLENT taste in anime.
The frickin' title!
Also there is a lot of symbolism of a snake eating its own tail in this episode, representing a cycle of continuous mistakes
Like a caduceus Hermes’s staff
It's also a cool nod to Camila's profession as a healthcare worker. A staff with a single snake is called the staff of asclepius, and it is the symbol for medicine and health related professions due to asclepius being the man turned god of medicine.
+not to mention that it would work as a symbol of luz's own ability to help/heal others (and hopefully herself)
Camila represents both our parents. One ADHD ‘adult’ to another, there’s nothing wrong with us
I wished my (mom) would have represented Camila in my childhood, I grew up with ADHD too
@@kaykaylit4712 me too,i always bullied for having adhd :(
You mention how Luz's voice sounds deeper and how it was to show that she was getting older.
Yeah part of me Is angry but parts of me accept that this is all we have left
Amity's words to Luz is a callback to Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Hooty's Door when Luz asked Amity out. I love how they brought it full circle.
I swear nobody points that out
Amity hit her with the Uno Reverse Card
Such a healthy representation of relationships (romantic, familial and friend). Honesty is the best policy. Loved, cared for, and supported mistakes and all. Be open and honest and we can work through it together.
Bro with all Elijah’s theories coming true I’m starting to think Dana and the crew are watching her videos and taking inspiration from her 🤣 just me?
No, most of everything she says actually comes true
Belos is really good at possessing dead matter, and Hunter’s body was made with animal parts, so that makes sense…
And the Titan is a giant magical corpse with a beating heart behind Belos’s throne that was synced to Belos’s heartbeat, and the Coven Head vision of the Day of Unity had a cut version where the Titan stood up….
Oh…
Haha. We're all in danger
Dang...You're right....
Oh shit...
Okay, here's a fact, when I watch Elijah reaction to The Owl House Season 3, this is what I expected:
1. "we're watching that again" first of all
2. Screaming about lumity especially.
3. Find the BI flag "of course"
4. She will probably cry...
5. Or... Um... maybe more.
Well, Happy to see you back. Elijah!!! 🥰🥰🥰
"Not-So-Average-Fangirl" Bingo 🤣
the fact that hunter was able to break free once flapjack was in danger is heartbreaking and wholesome at the same time. rip flap, we love you
As a Latinamerican, seeing them learning Spanish was hilarious.
The NotDuolingo threatening them was hilarious 🤣
I learned German in school and one of my proudest moments was when I did a summer exchange to Germany as a teen and was able to say a German tongue twister that one of my host sister's native speaking friends couldn't. Gt thrown when another of her native speaking friends gave me a subtly different one. 'Twas too much for my English speaking brain to manage at the time 😂
I had forgotten Eda saying that!
Growing up with ADHD wasn’t easy. It’s nice to see others that can relate

Yes. also consider that Hunter was ready to suicide by plot. He is my favorite, and now he has so many more issues.
AND THATS THE DAY PHILLIP KILLED HIM!
idk it could be a stretch but Dell comes from a line of palistrome carvers and the reason could be bc him being “half a witch” his magic isn’t as strong without one
EDIT: I JUST REMEMBERED THERES A PHOTO WITH THE WITCH HOLDING CALEB’S HAND AND SHE LOOKS PREGNANT FURTHERING MY THEORY
Also, look at the names of Eda and her mom: Edalyn and Gwendolyn
@@WyvernRex2099 Good point! It could also be Gwendolyn as their daughter which would explain why she was the only one that knew about another human before Luz who lived in the Boiling Isles. I hope that next episode we get a little more information on Caleb and Evelyn 🤞
Camila: I never expected to be a mother of six.
Eda: Hold my Apple Blood, lady...I've got stories to tell you
the amount of fluff and really cute and funny moments AND angsty af and heartbreaking moments in this ONE episode is just- WOAH.
Willow really took “I’m going to BUENAS this noches” to heart when she knocked TF out
I really like the parallels between Eda and Camilla when it comes to being a mom.
That is definitely possible
EXACTLY OML. GUS KNOWS SHIT MAN I'M TELLING YOU
Exactly! He did see Belos’ memories, and I really *REALLY* hope that we get to see it too.
The light spell was the one that made them friends. So a romantic call out.
Btw in the class scene, she's talking about herself, and when she said "and it would be better, if he literally, never existed!" Is just her saying she wished she stopped existing ;v;
ANDDDD, BELOS THE BISH WAS EATING HUNTERS ORGANS AND STUFF WHICH EXPLAINS WHY HUNTER DIED FOR A LITTLE AND THEN CAME BACK😭😭😭😭
for the palisman question i could see luz having a quick freak out that she forgot it, but camilla came prepared with it. even calling herself a abuela when it hatches.
