Joshua Schmidt’s past duels with Billy Brake in YCS Prague and Bochum were what introduced me to the game. He’s the reason I started to play Paleo Frog back in the day. This was a super pleasant surprise in my vid inbox!
That's good then
7:43 This gave me a dope idea for an episode. Does Jeff Leonard know Mystic Mine rulings?
I’m pretty sure he’d get 7/8 because he’d call Coder out on a question being ambiguous
Get Rata to do rank 10 questions .... I just wanna hear his voice again ;_;
I can hear it now..."Why the f*** are you asking me about this worthless piece of cardboard?" And I just know Coder would replace Bean Soldier with Shapesnatch as the vanilla :)
@@Kylora2112 or ojamas
@@luka3933 Coder: "Your opponent controls Ojama Lime and Shapesnatch..."
Rata: "Get that f***ing jank out of here."
Get this on top, it needs to be done!
Ok but there should be a random question regarding Infinitrack (fake trains).
Again, one of the "Three Gatekeepers of Perfect Score", Farfa, saved the day. Book Of Moon and Stat Modifier are really proud of him.
(Farfa would be used here if Paleo wasn't unaffected by monster effects, the important part was Paleo's banish restriction VS Farfa's temporary removal)
It seemed like he got that one wrong specifically because he knew the book-farfa ruling and forgot going straight into the banish with the spell wouldn't give the paleo the reset on how it was summoned
It's funny cause in magic the gathering I would've got this wrong because it's the exact opposite, when something would be banished if it leaves the field then is banished, the leaves the field condition is met then would come back. But here it's the opposite it still rules it banished itself.
@@MTGNoobma What @Snowbound Whale means is that to have farfa banish a Paleo is impossible because they're unaffected by monster effects [1] . The only case is if they had their lingering effect removed [2]. That can be achieved by setting them with Book of Moon [3]. But if they lose their protection, they also lose their restriction that permanently banishes them if they leave the field in any way [4].
So Joshua was tricked from the more common interaction they could imagine, a combination of [2] and [3] that logically results into [4]. But since it wasn't Farfa, a monster effect, [2] and [3] never actually happened so their restriction immediately kicks in as soon as they leave the field (overriding the effect, even if it would be to send them elsewhere).
A very funny video -that is every simulator's nightmare- is an interaction where multiple effects direct the card to different places. Check the video where Coder test YGO Omega rulings
@@babrad so basically your making something really easy really complicated. All I said is that it's funny how in yugioh the ruling is if you banish a monster with a lingering replacement effect to banish itself, if you banish it from an outside source it "overrides" itself and banishes itself.
The only thing I said was that in another card game, magic the gathering, the opposite is true. If you summon a monster from your graveyard with unearth with places the same
Lingering effect, then blink it, which is basically farfa, it comes back, because in magic the ruling is the effect can't banish a banished monster, which wow makes so much more sense than yugioh rulings.
4:39 an easy way to remember this is the difference between 'gains' and 'becomes'. When a word has 'become' it freezes the value at whatever it 'becomes' and other attack modifers are superseded.
Also Im happy I got 6/8 since I never played during frogs
Okay but who's gonna be the guest judge for "Does Coder know unchained rullings" ?
Toooooommmm Box
Hopefully 🙏😭

Damn this man's confident. Can you get Hardleg on the show sometime?

Great video Coder. At the end of the of video would it be possible to edit in a leader board of all the past competitors?
15:58 that water gallon killed me
If you give Coder Frogs, he MUST ask things about the miss timing stuff of Dupe Frog
Give a man a frog, he will miss timing for a day. Teach a man to frog and he will miss timing for a lifetime.
@@infiniteshay8660 But in this case, it didn't miss timeing. XD
I'm getting better at these. And I'll have to remember the 9 Pillars timing interaction.
Great video. He had a good intuition for that last question, well played!
We need an episode with pak and prank kids, and also susu and either his madolche or gren maju
Me who plays dark magician seeing the Full Armor Master question come up:
*immediately thinks to myself* IT CAN ATTACK ANY MONSTER
God i love these ruling challenge videos
The Farfa spell one is so funny. I said the same thing Joshua did and I was so confident, but when you remind us that the Paleo basically banished it's self it makes so much sense. Such an obvious answer that was so easy to miss!
2:41 I did not realise they didn't discard for cost, I should've read them more closely because the lack of any colons is suddenly glaring, but also this tells me paleo-dark word has synergy which is cursed knowledge
Ah, the good old days. This was peak Coder content!
Oshaleon is the closet thing to the dup frog wording shown as its text reads "your opponent cannot select a monster other "osaleon" as an attack target
Looking forward to the victim that has to do d/d/d or darklord rulings; those seem challenging
Seeing the keyblade in the background shows me that this man is excited for Sora in Smash 😤
After this series every single one of us will be judge material:)
The legend: Joshua Schmidt!
Whn josh was recording using his smart microwave
Thank you. One friend of me suggested this video. It was very helpful.
Coder i know this video is old but a better example is the Marauding Captain lock. As it states that as long as the monster is face up on the field the opponent can't attack another warrior. It becomes annoying because having two of these makes it impossible for anyone to attack Marauding captain. The only way around it was to book of moon or return one to the hand. Another case as well is Solar Flare Dragon. That also locks out your opponent when you have two on the board as they are both pyro monsters and the opponent can't attack any other pyro monster on the field.
Last question I got thanks to remembering how that one yang zing counter trap works with zefrani
Wow, “the Eminem show” poster and a keyblade in the background. Talk about a middle school throwback.
Another great video. Ty coder
Goddammit. I play Paleozoic Toads and did not know so many of those. Learning so much shit right now.
Nice to see the vid! I'd like to see Paleo Top more tho 😀
3Stacks (TeamKings of Games) for shaddolls!!
Amazing questionary, I learn a couple of things of my favourite deck :)
feel like he got bamboozled by Coder saying "this card is essentially Farfa" when they functioned differently
They don't function that differently, Farfa is a monster effect so a paleo is unaffected by its effects, so the only scenario where it can activate on a paleo summoned as a monster is if the paleo is flipped down by a spell or trap effect, which means it forgets it was summoned by its own effect and would not banish by its own effect after being removed. If paleo's weren't unaffected by monster effects, Farfa and entanglement would function the same
King’s Consonance vs “cannot be used as synchro material” let’s goooooo
I played once against Joshua Schmidt for fun. It was a very pleseant experience.
I love the new stream setup coder! Keep up the amazing work.
God schmidt looks exhausted in the video
TEAM KING OF GAMES!!! 3Stackz on Shaddoll rulings ?
Please!
14:01 What happens if a Palaeozoic is booked, then flip summoned, and then banished by Zealantis? Does Zealantis resummon it or is it treated as a Trap card again once it has changed location?
They stay banished because Zealantis only summons monsters, and Paleozoics are Traps while banished, since they are Trap Cards.
@@superskrub4209 makes sense
7:31 Is that a situation analogous to the interaction of Skill Drain with Towers monsters, where it matters which hit the field first (if the Towers is summoned while Skill Drain is up, Skill Drain will negate the Towers)?
Or does Dupe Frog's effect only apply when a monster would attempt to declare an attack?
in edopro FAM gets to attack even if summoned after the dupe frogs
@@superskrub4209 So Dupe Frog's continuous effect is only applied when the opponent attempts to declare an attack.
Sensible.
Me awaiting krawlers questions so that I can answer them at home
i knew the raigeki break one bc ive used that card and karma cut with paleozoic canadia a lot on in duel links
Love the new camera angle!
GET THE CALI EFFECT IN HERE HAHA
I would love to see
Does Calvin tahan know abc rulings
The negation isnt exactly removing the effect from the chain, as the chain still remains the same chain link, it just stops the effect from happening, which makes the last thing that happened on field be the negate effect
The question with cat shark please explain why the lingering add/sub effect is not reapplied. Cause I have a document that stated, lingering effecs that set original atk/def after it resolves the lingering and continuos add/sub will reapply.
Because cat shark says atk/def become double the original atk/def, so it sets them to a set value regardless of other stat increasing effects
For the dupe one solar flair is similar.
You need to do one with Asian persuasion with kozmos
Jushua did best so far! Such a great job
Wait, for the "Farfa" vs Paleo interaction, wouldn't it also not return because it's not a monster anymore as soon as it's off the field? It isn't able to return to field because it is no longer a monster in the banish zone? I'd figure that would be a much simpler explanation.
I once dueld Joshua at locals. Didnt knew who he was but my friend told me (well I knew the name Joschua Schmidt but I didnt know how he look and that it was him) I lost 2:0 I played abc, he played paleo. He won the dice game 1 was pretty close and I startet game 2 and bricked completely. But his skill while dueling is so above my level I maybe would have been able to steal 1 game but the difference to an average player like me. But if I remember correctly he didnt win the tournament. That was like 3 or 4 years ago.
Wait! Is that a Keyblade in the Background?!
Next one should be oak with prankids
And what about summoning construct with a shaddoll and a dark monster?
As a fellow frog player since day 1 you sud know all of these rulings as paleos are and have been a confusing strategy so if you play the deck long enough your gonna learn all the wierd shit
Mkohl 40 and Pak.
Can you get the retired LEGEND Galactic God ?
Get Jeff Jones quizzed on shaddoll
If Cat Shark doubled the current ATK, Wetlands beatdown would be quite a bit more intimidating.
It's sad that I am very familiar to Question #7 due to my own mistakes.
Would a palio still be only considered a monster when attached to an cuz monster or would it be re-considered a trap
frog
Mystic Mine rulings op
Does Pak know prank kids would be great
I was able to get all 8 this time! I must be a good Odion player in Duel Links, I suppose. KEKW
The Entanglement question was something I had figured out in Duel Links - Malevolent Sin will banish a monster permanently if that monster banishes itself when it leaves the field, which I applied against Evil Eye and (using Black Dragon Ninja) against a Shiranui Sunsaga revived by Spiritmaster.
Frogs...my old enemy.
After I get locked in Sekka's light, I am pretty sure I can still use Verte Anaconda to fuse. Can I also use cards that send spell/traps to the graveyard and simply says "activate it"?
You can use Verte, because it replaces it's own monster effect with the fusion, and I don't understand the second question
@@xolotltolox7626 Through my encounters with yugioh cards, I remember that there are card/s that says "send 1 spell card from your deck to grave. Activate it's effect.". I am wondering if the game acknowledges it as an attempt to use a spell effect or as a part of a monster effect.
You can use Verte, you cannot use spell cards by the effect of Diamond Dude.
@@gleirb3670 So about Diamond Dude
With Diamond Dude you can't, funnily, you can't even use a Sekka's Light if you mill it off a Diamond Dude, but with Verte you can use an REF after activazing Sekka, however unless you get that card out of your graveyard you can no longer activate sekka's light
If the monsters effect equals "pitch for cost, this effect becomes the pitched cards effect" yes you can activate it
I’m surprised coder didn’t ask if ghost belle can negate toadally awesome effect that ruling still confuses me
I got 6/8 :D
Konami: _prevents players from using Ronintoadin as cheap synchro material_
also Konami: _releases generic Link monsters_
I got 7 out of 8 and my mistake was the atk modifier
Could you try to get Nesh on virtual world?
Yes, please. I've asked him so many times to do this.
Somo of them are so imposible, the farfa one was a troll, like it says it in the card but...
Or Erik Christiansen to do infernoid rulings
Get Jake Phinney or Uri Diaz to answer Kozmo questions
How can you activate the normal effect of Swap Frog under the effect of an impermanence???? the frog has its effects negated
Because it returns to the hand for cost and you can still pay effect costs if a monster's effect is negated, you just don't get the effect which in this case is the extra normal
and now we await for dad to play the best deck once again and i shall net deck it to all shit
Great vid
This was an easy quiz
Coder: does dupe frog miss timing?
Me: Gageh and MBT say it always misses timing, so im gonna say it misses timing.
Coder: wrong cause Yugioh!!! 😀
Please give us Billy brake and infernoid rulings
YES paleo frog 3rd best deck
coder with the swap frogs question impermance negates its effects not just the one activated so you can't activate the return to hand eff in the first place. I believe
Anybody know why Joshua suddendly wasn't on the map anymore? Did he just stop playing?
hes a friend of mine and hes not a fan of remote duel
That and He banned by Konami for "Marked cards"
Ye for playing ami desires that are bend AF, offical konami cards …
wouldn't canadia get set in the spell and trap zone after getting book of moond?
so when is Calvin Tahan with ABC rulings?
Get Lanturn on this show!!
Does anyone know what the background song to these Does X Know Y Rulings videos is?
Yo do tatsym and subterror rulings and ill pog in the comments
Frog Pog
Cool
No rise rulings?
Does Rank10YGO know OJAMA rulings?
Can anyone explain to me why the 7. Ruling Would have been different with Farfa? I dont get where the difference between Farfa and that spell is.
Farfa is a monster effect, so for it to work on the Paleo, it would have to first have been flipped facedown, which would mean it's no longer summoned by its effect. Because it only banishes when it leaves the field if summoned by its effect, it would then not banish itself, preventing the return
Farfa is a monster effect
I'm pretty new to yugioh, so I have some questions about my battlin' boxer cards.
Glassjaw effect: does it's effect activate if I use an xyz monster's effect, with glassjaw as cost, does glassjaw effect trigger.
Can I use comet cestus anytime during my turn or during a certain phase?
Nice
