Yugipedia's fusion substitute monster page says they apply on field face-up & face-down, in hand, & in gy, but not in main deck or while banished. So as i understand, if invincibility barrier has banished a synchro, miracle fusion cannot banish muddy mudragon as a named hero whether from field or gy. What about face-up & face-down in extra deck, & do these zone parameters apply to all unclassified effects or just fusion substitute monsters, like does star eater's unclassified summon imperviousness apply while attempting to summon it from the extra deck, & is it affected by invincibility barrier?
The Farfa flip ruling is weird This one is stupid but here’s how it goes down When a monster is attacked and damage calculation occurs before damage calculation a monster is flipped, it doesn’t have any effect during this time, after damage calculation is done the monster only then gets its effect, it can trigger even in the graveyard at that point
So i know a fun know your rulings. what if you ask nux for a collab. would probably funny to see him failing at ruling questions. maybe even a ruling question about your favorite card pole position.
5heads If I declare an attack with "Recital Starling“ on lets say my opponents Blue-eyes White Dragon" and I activate/have activated "Lyrilusc Assembled Nightingale“ which says: "Once per turn, during either players turn: You can detach 1XYZ material from this card; until the end of this turn, "Lyrilusc“ monsters you control can not be destroyed by battle or card effects, also you take no battle damage." Does my opponent still take the 3000 damage through "Recital Starling's“ effect? It’s effect says: "All battle damage you take from battles involving this XYZ summoned card is also inflicted to your opponent.“ 🧐
Am I missing something about lyrilusc, coz this question has been asked 3 times in the last week. If you battle with Recital Starling and Assembled Nightingale has activated its effect this turn, then both Starling and Nightingale apply. Your opponent takes the damage you would've taken here, and the damage you would take is reduced to zero.

so the last question: Does this work because pendulum not going to graveyard is a game mechanic vs something like macro cosmos is a effect? Because You can't maxx C under macro cosmos because you can't sent it to the GY
Hi! This just works regardless; the only part that matters is having a card for the effect. You can use this effect under Macro and you can also use Tokens for it (which never have a shot at going to GY).
hey Coder, I may have missed if you did CyDra rulings but I have a two questions since i've seen these applied weirdly. 1) Cyber Dragon Sieger: can I activate it's effect in the damage step? I've been under the assumption I can since it is a quick effect that manipulates attack values but someone on DB told me it doesn't count. 2) Cyber Dragon Infinity: can you summon two Infinity's by the effect of overlaying on Nova? the wording on the card makes it seem like it can't but i've seen people on multiple yugioh platforms summon 2-3 infinity over novas. This one I'm more confused over the first one since im 95% sure sieger applies during Damage Step, but this one is exceptionally confusing to me. Apologies if you've clarified this before, I don't always watch every video you or other yugitubers post
Wait I have a question. If you used dotscapper for instance, both abilites. Then you banish it with Scrypton to special summon itself from hand then use it as a link material can you use dotscapper all over again, or is it different for once per duel effects?
I’m a little confused about the hand size limit stuff, especially since Dark World Grimore has an effect relying on its user discarding through the hand size limit. I guess it’s just the game state stuff I’m questioning the most though.
think of dark world grimoire's "during the end phase" as clarification text; what it actually triggers off of is the monsters being discarded because of the hand size limit, not just from the timing. it's the same reason why you can trigger cir and graff granted, yeah, if you would somehow discard due to the hand size limit outside of the end phase, i'm sure dark world grimoire wouldn't trigger. even then, though, it's still an effect that triggers in response to an event with an additional timing condition, rather than just triggering at a specific timing like scarm
So speaking of Cherubini, say I use a card that destroys like raigeki and the controller of Cherubini has a phantom knight wings on field and chains it in response to raigeki, would the controller of Cherubini be able to send wings to the grave to protect it or would wings have priority and not allow Cherubini since it would already protected by card effect destruction from wings?
You can not, Chirubini's effect is a response to Raigeki resolving, not its activation, as its already protected by Wings, Chirubini would not be destroyed, and thus you would not be given the chance to choose to send for a block, as the block is unnecessary
But if a monster that is temporary banished by farfa remembers where it was summoned from, then why a link monster is not returning in the extra monster zone but can be placed in the main monster zone?
So if Farfa had the banish effect worded like Shooting Star Dragon where it special summons the monster banished during the End Phase does that mean Shadoll Fusion can't use monsters from deck?
I would like to see a series where chat/commenters ask you extremely obscure ruling questions and You have to see if you can get them correct. Like for example what happens if you summon a piece of exodia with relay soul and then return it to hand, which would complete the five pieces.
I think your opponent wins the duel. Using Performapal Popperup killing you when you complete Exodia as a reference, Exodia's victory condition can not happen until you have resolved all effects that would complete Exodia.
@@Sasajiro it is a draw. Exodia cannot resolve in the middle of a chain link, but neither effect startsa chain. Both players’ victory conditions have been met like if both players had exodia.

Its still made of 4 parts, its just significantly less crowded on Damage Calc because "damage step" no longer legalizes Damage Calc for whatever reasoning fixed that
Love the Necrodancers music outro
farfa can't remember to read during a duel, but he is fucking able to suppose what a card do, given knowledge.
I genuinely laughed way harder than I should’ve at the utopia joke
farfa finds a way to chet no matter what huh...robbed on number six
really living the true definition of nadir right now
Yugipedia's fusion substitute monster page says they apply on field face-up & face-down, in hand, & in gy, but not in main deck or while banished.
Coder, can you make a video regarding the continues effects and how they work? Would be really cool to get some more insight there
i actually knew the farfa/bean soldier dmg step one because grand mole eff doesn’t activate if it’s attacked while face down 👀
The Farfa flip ruling is weird
This one is stupid but here’s how it goes down
When a monster is attacked and damage calculation occurs before damage calculation a monster is flipped, it doesn’t have any effect during this time, after damage calculation is done the monster only then gets its effect, it can trigger even in the graveyard at that point
So i know a fun know your rulings. what if you ask nux for a collab. would probably funny to see him failing at ruling questions. maybe even a ruling question about your favorite card pole position.

If I declare an attack with "Recital Starling“ on lets say my opponents Blue-eyes White Dragon" and I activate/have activated "Lyrilusc Assembled Nightingale“ which says:
"Once per turn, during either players turn: You can detach 1XYZ material from this card; until the end of this turn, "Lyrilusc“ monsters you control can not be destroyed by battle or card effects, also you take no battle damage."
Does my opponent still take the 3000 damage through "Recital Starling's“ effect? It’s effect says:
"All battle damage you take from battles involving this XYZ summoned card is also inflicted to your opponent.“
🧐
Am I missing something about lyrilusc, coz this question has been asked 3 times in the last week.
If you battle with Recital Starling and Assembled Nightingale has activated its effect this turn, then both Starling and Nightingale apply. Your opponent takes the damage you would've taken here, and the damage you would take is reduced to zero.

Seen contradictory answers and wanted to make sure this is how they interacted as it will be relevant after the release of legendary duelist synchro storm. Appreciate it duelist
@@zeppelin9776 Fair enough, well this is definitely the right answer. There's a database entry on a similar interaction between the Sanctuary in the Sky and Majesty Hyperion you can reference which effectively solidifies it.
I've been waiting for this for so long
Not sure if it can be done since dragon rulers are banned and Patrick Hoban has long been out of the competitive scene but I'd like to see him appear answering dragon ruler questions
Before watching the video: if this doesn’t include the End Phase hand size Graph Cir shenanigans, then I’ll be VERY disappointed in Coder.
EDIT: I’m very disappointed
It def mentions it. Scarm is a more relevant ruling.
It literally mentions them in the Scarm ruling?
@@_luc1d1ty_ I meant exactly the Graph Cir End Phase interaction.
If Graph is discarded and summons Cir while you control a non-BA and Cir is destroyed, Cir cannot activate.
@@deshtom why not?
It's possible that in one of their streams farfa was told that exact ruling by coder.
That's so evil🤣 i actually feel bad for the doubters
Monster get flip face down.
Monster : who am i ??
so the last question: Does this work because pendulum not going to graveyard is a game mechanic vs something like macro cosmos is a effect?
Apologies if you've clarified this before, I don't always watch every video you or other yugitubers post
ua-cam.com/video/xe04jyFsMaU/v-deo.html
Its so funny how coder has to use Farfas real name so people don't get confused.
Wait I have a question. If you used dotscapper for instance, both abilites. Then you banish it with Scrypton to special summon itself from hand then use it as a link material can you use dotscapper all over again, or is it different for once per duel effects?
why no ba die?
does cimo know blackwing rulings?
These were by far the hardest question in the serie 😮
Milano dragonmaid rulings next
I’m a little confused about the hand size limit stuff, especially since Dark World Grimore has an effect relying on its user discarding through the hand size limit. I guess it’s just the game state stuff I’m questioning the most though.
think of dark world grimoire's "during the end phase" as clarification text; what it actually triggers off of is the monsters being discarded because of the hand size limit, not just from the timing. it's the same reason why you can trigger cir and graff
granted, yeah, if you would somehow discard due to the hand size limit outside of the end phase, i'm sure dark world grimoire wouldn't trigger. even then, though, it's still an effect that triggers in response to an event with an additional timing condition, rather than just triggering at a specific timing like scarm
UTOPIA HAS A SECOND EFFECT???

Dang BA is the hardest cuz a lot of it had to do with the phase with the most specific rulings and technicalities, the battle phase

Shooting Star specials itself not return.
These videos are why I decided to sub.
No, your opponent wins the duel. Relay Soul's condition is met immediately when Exodia leaves the field.
@@xatuyou8045 Relay Soul kills you the moment Exodia leaves the board, which is slightly before you would win for possessing all of Exodia, travel time exists in the rules insofar as things leave a place before they arrive at their new destination, rather then it existing in your hand simultaneous with it leaving the board
@@syrelian there’s an official ruling saying it’s a draw.
This honestly makes me wonder if there are ruilings that even / you / don't know Coder. It would be funny to see you do this with a head judge. To make him try and have you get a ruiling wrong haha
