I'm buying into a club with a dual G5 setup in a Cherokee 180. As an instrument student coming from a non-standard 6-pack in a 1966 Cherokee, these dual G5s are simply astounding. Absolutely amazing how much this is going to simplify IFR flight paired with the 750. Good on ya, Garmin - bravo!
Nice...but Garmin has a weird--and expensive--way of defining affordable. I'm glad they're finally getting competition from Dynon, Bendix/King & Avidyne.
I mean it costs $1350 on sportys. If you compare that to a traditional vacuum attitude indicator its only 400-600 dollars more, which makes sense since you also get airspeed and altitude with it and its more reliable. Now a g1000 is a rip off compared to dynon that I do agree with

Does the altimeter setting that you put into the primary altimeter's Kollsman window automatically transfer to the G5 or must you also set the atmospheric pressure separately into the G5? Very nice avionics!
Russell Lowry This is the installation manual (for certified) that lists how to interface with 3rd party autopilots and which ones will work, at around page 120. Needs additional GAD29b part installation as mentioned about half way through the video. static.garmin.com/pumac/190-01112-10_09.pdf
Wichita is not a bad place, great place to visit....probably not a great place to live. I grew up there and learned to fly there, I visit family somewhat regularly. I've worked at most airports in the Wichita area growing up....it is a great place to be from. :D
I went to Wichita with my Dad when I was 18,,,way back in time, he was taking a 3 week course at Cessna, aviation was the high point of Wichita!@@luckyhanger1326
We have lots of great options for you! The G5 is a great starting point. There are a couple of versions of it - it offers a replacement for your existing Attitude Indicator and for your Directional Gyro. Not only does it remove the dependency from failure-prone gyro instruments, in a lot of cases, the Garmin dealer is able to remove the vacuum system entirely. Check them out here: buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/570665/pn/K10-00280-00#overview We also offer a series of cost effective navigators that offer LPV approach capability. interesting if cost under 100$ /gauge change new all. only totally idiot pay ower 2000$ this little parts. no newer. idiot if pay. ower price 100x. this can made under 100$
Well, Garmin is in business to make money and they will charge what the market will bear. Plz remember that liability insurance and the approval processes can be a significant portion of the cost of bringing new equipment to the general aviation market.

Dream come true!!
It is a great avionics suite although quite simple. I hopefully to see several aircraft being converted here in Brazil for this one.
I just got back to aviation after a 20 year break. Imagine my surprise.
Wait, did Saitek with their Sim Instrument Panel deliver the inspiration to this? Nice :)

@@rexr3306 for Certified?
You’ve obviously never bought and installed integrated avionics.
Actually I have. Now go back to sleep on that old couch in your mom's basement. @@Bartonovich52
Actually Aircraft Spruce has them stc'd for certified aircraft for $2,650, but you can bet on spending double that, installed. @@rexr3306

Por que bo final do vídeo quando passou o VOR não apareceu a barra do CDI?
Great instrument. Sad is that professional installing cost about the same as the hardware itself.
G5 needs a dual inner-outer knob and it would be perfect

Hello, our Aviation Support team will be best able to assist you with this. They can be reached at the following link: j.mp/GRMNFlySupp

A standard altimeter will not have the capability to transfer anything.. You will need to set both..
what data line use, rs232, or what need be old cessna.
so , this will work with my old century autopilot ?
Agreed will it work with a century iii
He states that a 'Third party' GPS will work so I'm hoping so as well.
I thought that was the problem-that the didn’t work with APs.

I just paid almost $2500 for my G5. Why is garmin putting paid ads in front of their videos?
Hi Knox, unfortunately, this is a policy of the platform and is not something Garmin can effect. We do appreciate your loyalty to Garmin.
All that gear, not counting installation, cost more than my entire airplane.
Does it have full HSI integration with a GNC 355? I assume so, but didn’t hear it mentioned.
It does, thank you for considering Garmin.
Meu G5 não está entrando o VOR alguém pode me ajudar?
Hello Can we use a single device to display alternatvely PFD or HSI ?
Thank you
Hi Jean, if you're replacing your primary AI and primary HSI, they need to function as those instruments. Thank you for considering Garmin.
Just for the record, Wichita is NOT a fun place to go, unless you're going to the Cessna factory.

Can a G5 display ILS course and altitude guidance?
Yes, the G5 can show lateral and vertical guidance for VLOC sources, when configured and connected to an approved Navigator. ^DK
@@GarminInt Great! Do you have any videos or pictures of how the ILS course and glideslope are displayed on the Garmin G5?

amazing
Figure out a way to mount it flush in the panel
He states that flush mount is available.
Buy some .030" aluminum, a mini break, and a 3 1/8" holesaw. Figured it out for you.
Just give it a bigger screen
Thank you for the feedback, I'll share this with the team for future consideration.
WRONG!...Anybody that has flown with their significant other has had backup attitude...🤣
The G5 by itself is almost 2500USD. That doesn't include installation. "Economical Upgrade" LOL
nice equipment though
better than $8000 for a G3X
You must be new to aviation
Nice defense mechanism! Blame it on your wife
its nice to finally some alternatives driving cost down your products are great but to damn expensive a complete rip off.

If you can get parts certified for that sure. But even old fashioned steam gauges are like $400
