    I'm the dad of a nine-year-old daughter, and you, as well as a few others on youtube, have taught me how to put flexi-rods in her hair. And she's thrilled about how beautiful and bouncy her hair is. Thanks!

      Yakari Gabriel I've always envied black hair. It's gorgeous natural & holds various styles amazingly! These curls on her are beyond stunning! I only wish mine could look like that... Anyone that has something bad to say about this hair is a moron. So glad to have found this tutorial. Great job! 😊💜

      Just curious, when you did this set, was heat previously applied to your hair for the stretching process; as you mentioned in 0:23? You said you were testing the method using heat. Do you think you would have gotten similar results if "NO HEAT" was applied? (even though heat was not applied in the setting of the style, heat was previously applied). HAVE I confused you more? LOL!.

    • @Naptural85
      @Naptural85  10 років тому +2

      DiscoveringNatural Lol, no I know what you're saying. I don't think it would have been exactly the same, since heat has a way of really stretching those curls and kinks, but it would be extremely similar. If you take a look at my "How to cheat a perm rod video" you'll be able to compare the texture and see how it would look using absolutely no heat from start to finish. The results are still very shiny and smooth using the "No Heat Blowout Technique" Xo!

    • @graphixspot
      @graphixspot 8 років тому +47

      Basically, roll the hair around the strips like you would a regular roller. Then tie the ends of the strips like you would a shoe, but not too tight that you break any hair.
      You guys are very welcome.

      TOO FABULOUS! Your heatless stretched hair is soooo stretched, who needs a blow-dryer! Did you use the tension method for this stretching? I knew I detected a bit a color in those FABULOUS locks on your FB post the other day! I love flax seed gel thanks to you, I was scared of it at first...AAAAH see that flax seed mixture scares me, too thick like slime! Yeah, I remember that Nickelodeon GAK! Your curls are just AMAZING, you've got shine, smoothness, moisture and movement! Well this definitely deserves 2 THUMBS UP, 5 GOLD STARS and an A+++! I never use flexi rods anymore.
    They always pull too tightly on my scalp.
    I always use the old 80's style, pink sponge rollers :3
    It costs like $1.50 for a 10-pack at my favorite beauty store & all its items for sale are 98% hair items.
    But I LOVE the finished results on your hair; just...beautiful!

    • @zoe.x.connordino5871
      @zoe.x.connordino5871 9 років тому

      You could put your hair into high pigtails then do flexi rods easier to sleep and doesn't pull on scalp .

    • @Cindy99765
      @Cindy99765 9 років тому

      +Kristina Ravenell if your twa is at least 3-4 inches, its possible. don't do it on shorter hair - its possible, but you will have to pull really tight at the root go get the short hair around the curler.

    • @lizzynunya6254
      @lizzynunya6254 8 років тому +4

      I'd be very careful using sponge rollers. Although I have straight, thick Asian hair, when I used sponge rollers as a teen, I noticed how much hair would break off and stick to the spongey surface. Then a good friend of mine (who was an African American hair stylist) told me that they were particularly damaging to her hair. She told me that the coarser your hair texture the more likely the hair 'grabs' the sponge's surface, resulting in breakage. So she showed me how to tear an old sheet into strips and roll my hair with these to get beautiful spiral curls. :-)

    I promise if I am able to achieve this on my hair, I would do it every day lol. I chopped off 85% of my relaxed hair around 7 months ago, and after having 85% natural hair, I damaged it with heat! When it's not one thing is the other..sigh. I finally left the creamy crack but then I caught myself addicted to the heat -.- . So, now I am trying to find possible ways to get NICE looking curls with no heat,anything but heat to make this natural yet heat damaged hair. And this looks beautifuul! Thanks for sharing, hope it works out for me lol

    I have not learned how to do this, but I hope to try one day! I have a box of flexi rods and attempted to put one in my hair just to see how they work and from that point I knew it would be an tough adventure lol, so I've been somewhat hesitant. I absolutely love your results!! thanks for the motivation and for sharing!

      Just don't let your hair get dry.
      Prevent breakage.
      Retain moisture.
      Take hair, nail, skin vitamins.
      Drink water.
      Be patient. Our hair does grow long.

      Kenecia Harris Also, watch your diet. Try juicing if you don't like to eat salads or a lot of veggies. Also try the "green-house" method. My hair grew quickly when I did this for 1 month straight. Deep- condition once a week- do it faithfully. And last but not least--always take special care of your ends.

    • @nicthommi
      @nicthommi 8 років тому +1

      If your hair is shoulder length you finished result would be a short curly style. The size of the curls is dependent on the size of the rods you use. But you'll clearly have less volume and it will be more of a short Lil Orphan Annie do which is nice. Be happy with your hair. It's what you will always have.

      You would probably need more product, some hairspray, and heat. It's possible to get good results. But remember, this lady has very textured hair so while you both get curls, hers will be more defined simply because of the hair.

      Love To Sing Except the weight pulls the curls down at my crown whereas hers stays up. It's not as bad if I have been dying it so its more porous and light weight then but I'm trying to deal with my natural color now. Each strand is super fine on my head but there's a lot of it so it gets soooo oily super quick.
