      @aglees2b this is not knuckleheads (Chris Horner likes the word c7z it gets him "likes". THERE IS NOTHING Remco could do and Remco knows it and Chris Horner knows it too I think Remco simply tested Tadej's legs. Aren't you tired after being in the wind for 100km a week ago? Then he saw Tadej on the wheel with still 40km to go and he retired into the night. Next try will be soon :)

      @@alesksander I like the honking of Canadian Geese as they fly south for the winter, it is like all of them in their peloton are honking in approval at the knucklehead in front, like 'keep going, keep going, you're looking good' all the way to Florida or wherever their travels together take them. 😀

    It is interesting that Matteo said to Quin Simons about trying to follow Pogi after the world championships that "if you fly to close to the sun, you get burned". And then he choose to try to follow Pogi and then destroyed himself. Never the less, I respect that he tried to follow and make it a race.

    Simply stated, Tadej Pogacar has painted a masterpiece this year and with two final races on his race schedule we will soon be able to stand back, admire and analyze all the tones and colors that Tadej has used to redefine the limits of the human condition. My words fail me in describing what I have witnessed this year. I knew we were in for a special season if Tadej could stay healthy and my lord, did he exceed even my wildest expectations. The greatest racer I've ever had the privilidge of watching. Great job Chris, as always you brought it. Even at the end of the racing season you're on point. Thank you.

      Right. Someone please just let me have control of a couple strong teams (maybe I would need three ;) that are 2nd and 3rd strongest in the race next time Pogi goes from way far out like at the worlds and I would bet that they catch him. 50k out and I could at least make the racing closer and the leaders of the teams would still do ok but if you gave me a 100% on form Roglic, Jonas, or Remco I could win occasionally with them. 🤔🦋👊

    • @markrushton1516
      @markrushton1516 3 місяці тому

      I can't understand why they just let him go. 2 or 3 teams should be able to reel him back in over a longer distance but it's like a magic trick. Is he really that much faster? Or just able to sustain that power for longer.

    • @andreasabels589
      @andreasabels589 3 місяці тому +1

      The competition is just stupid. Pogi goes from a distance where conventional wisdom says that he cannot win. Then they panic when they cannot catch him within ~20km. Like, if he went with 20km to go, you would not expect to catch him easily. But they still have 30-70 km to go (in recent races) and they should easily catch him if they ride tempo as a group.
      Thing is, not everyone wants the peleton to catch. Say you have the 4th or 5th best rider. Do you want to catch? I say no, you want to launch attacks and explode the peleton so that the 2nd and 3rd best grind down their teams so that you can maybe beat them and secure 2nd overall.
      Think about it. Do you think Pidcock or Woods could get 2nd in a regular race where the peleton works and catches Pogacar? I think not. It will be Remco or Roglic that wins such a race. (Remco still races like a knucklehead, but I can see why random teams try to attack and break up the peleton. Maybe Lidl-Trek thought Ciccone had a shot at a top 5 riding like they did. In a regular race, he certainly cannot get that.)

      @@andreasabels589roglic and remco have the duty to put their teams controling the break way in a controlled manner to not burn their domestiques and even jumbo, but that never happens because there alaways some stupid team like Lidl trek that kamikazes their teams for nothing, and blew most of domestiques, still the GC favourites could work together instead of attacking each other and let other riders get oportunities to counter attacks

Tadej attacks with impunity at present because every time he's done so hes taken the top step of the podium. If all the 80kg guys who can take 600w pulls work together these Pogacar attacks can be closed but currently due to lack of cooperation everyone just concedes they are racing for 2nd even when there is 2 hours of racing left.

We all know that Pogacar's legs don't wear out, so of course the race is going to be for second. Pogacar reminds me of Genevieve Jeanson. Her career was marked by a "coach" who administered a doping diet so extreme that she won races by 20 minutes while riding solo. I'd love to know what is going on at UAE. In the Tour in the 1969 with a 100 km solo attack to Mourenz in the Pyrenees. The 1969 RVV, a 73 km attack & he won by 5,36. However, they got glorified on radio commentary. People switching on the tv with him already on his own got bored watching him solo 2,5 hours on the screen. Radio commentary made a habit of make up stories to keep listeners on the edge of their seats. Tv images don't lie. Change of times.

    Maybe you should consider more that most teams will not get a good result when the peleton catches. Like Pidcock and Woods would probably not place as high as they did. Lidl-Trek had no chance to win with Ciccone, but maybe they had a chance to top5 when favorites like Remco and Roglic grind up their team and drop out early.

    They can all get organized they want..but as long as the course fits Tadej, meaning it has sections where he can put 30 sec on anyone, the race is over

      What Luke just said, is correct. Milhouse misunderstood T🦋E video on the men’s 2024 WC race. Remco didn’t just put his team on the front. He put his team on the front and blew his team up to early. Two laps at least is what Remco needed from his teammates and from the Netherlands team is what I said. The very short version anyways. 🤪🦋💥🇧🇪💣👊

    • @milhouse53
      @milhouse53 3 місяці тому +1

      @ChrisHornerCycling no no i watched the analysis, Chris!
      I see your point but I had a suggestion that had Belgium rode tempo for even one more lap, some let's say 1-2 of them would still fall back and Tadej and Pavel would be 1:30-1:45 head instead of 30 sec (which is where that "Belgian team blowing" got them
      REMCO after blowing his team had to close the last 20-30 sec himself, if he is a rider #2. But he was not. Nobody was #2 there

    • @milhouse53
      @milhouse53 3 місяці тому

      @lukebastiras4666 i know Luke you saying what Chris said, and of course it is more correct because I don't argue with the pro. It just seems Remco knew everyone looks at him..and if he didn't put his team on the front then Tadej would ride away with close to 2 min ahead (like he did today btw) and then Remco would never catch him. He tried then and it was the correct move. Question is if his team blows apart after 10 hard km of riding and they can't close 30 sec on a lone rider, they should go back to training. Which Remco kinda did today

    I disagree in the regard of bad tatctics generally. There were poor tactics yesterday, but there are 3 riders in the race, that can win it - Pogi, Remco, Rogla - so the other teams have to have different goals, like to podium. So chasing Pogi is stupid for them, since their plans don't include him from the begining.
    I understand the funny thing about the knucklehead saying, but i think it is a little exagerated.

    • @milhouse53

      @ChrisHornerCycling i meant between those. 30 to a 100
      A 100km worked this one time because it was ridiculous but also because there were 4 laps with climbs that no one can gain time on him.
      My main point it that Bora or Visma do not have riders who even together can catch him and he feels is and uses it. I know your point is "to create organized chases" which means that soon the top riders, the team leaders themselves will need to start doing- create a super team by agreement. I don't know what else to offer.
