    I dont know where it says so, but I am pretty sure Brazil gets +1 appeal on tiles from Jungle instead of the appeal being lowered as usual. So thats another pretty good thing, specially for a Culture Victory, since having all that Jungle in your empire will actually help you have good Seaside Resorts and National Parks.

      @TheSaxyGamer  6 років тому +24

      Ah, yes, I totally forgot about that one. I don't believe it's explicitly stated anywhere, but that is how Brazil gets +1 housing to neighborhoods next to jungle, as all of their jungle tiles provide +1 appeal instead of -1.

    With the sacred path pantheon you can get ridiculous holy site adjacency bonuses

      @Jed McAfee while it doesn’t seem so at first glance, the best way to play him is with earth goddess. Since rainforest now provide +1 appeal instead of -1, only marshes and certain districts will reduce appeal. This means most of your tiles are breathtaking and you can be earning 60+ faith as soon as you get your pantheon without a single shrine. Brazil is insane if you can get earth goddess (change in appeal => faith => patronize great person => refund 20% of points => use faith for great person & the cycle continues). At the same time, Brazil is noticeably weaker without Earth goddess

      Sacred path has synergy with the work ethic religion tenet that gives holy sites production equal to their adjacency. This combines with the 2x holy site adjacency policy card which allows you to get an early game district that has 20 faith and 20 production per turn. And if you get the great scientist that allows holy sites to generate science as well it’s pretty much gg

    Street Carnival replacement actually bit better than you think they are. As Zoo building now provides +1 Science to Rainforest, Arena's and Stadium's now also gives provides Tourism.

    • @TheSaxyGamer
      @TheSaxyGamer  6 років тому +8

      The zoo can be helpful for a little bit of extra science, but that's not really any special trait of Brazil. The tourism from Arenas and Stadiums is pretty negligible as well.

      The Saxy Gamer I mean, maybe not special for Brazil, but they have bies towards Jungles I think, plus it is easier to construct Street Carnival.

    I really love Brazil as a “jack of all trades but everyone is happy” civ. Yes you are pushed towards culture pretty heavily just with ow most games go with jungle, but you are definitely given ample opportunity to set up for any victory and every victory if things go your way. And I just love the appeal/amenity insanity you are pushed towards. If you get a preserve in the right place you can easily have some downright sexy tile yields mixed with chichen itza, and the luxury res you find in abundance in jungle plus the carnvial districts mean you will never not have high amenities. In my most recent game, most of my cities had an upwards of 7 amenities each. This leads to very quality cities, and are very satisfying. I had multiple pop 20 cities by the halfway marker. Brazil easily became one of my favs (and it may or may not have anything to do with their theme)

    I played as Brazil thinking the civilization of my country would be bad but turned out that it was really fun to play arround rainforest bonuses and found it relly cool as well, how the country's wonders (Cristo Redentor and the Maranã) sinergise with it, atleast I think (I don't really understand to well the game)

    Rainforest tiles in your territory increase appeal. There are city-states that enable improvements you can place on jungle, AND Brazil excels at loyalty war because of the carnival and copacabana.
    When I play Brazil, I always go for a religion and an early war. That way, I get myself the territory I need to sprawl cities and decide what victory to go to.
    Brazil's only downside is production, which you can compensate with the insane gold yelds of your well-placed commercial hubs. In the end, you can do whatever you want with Brazil and you'll have all the tools you need.
    Domination? Amenities and sovereignty over the seas.
    Science? Gonna need some trade routes and commercial hubs to help out, but not too hard to pull off.
    Culture? Excuse me, that's self explanatory.
    Religion? +12 to +24 faith in any decent holy site.
    What else is necessary?

      When you are playing as brazil, which one is the better pantheon? Sacred path or Divine spark?

    • @gabrielzinho3230
      @gabrielzinho3230 5 років тому +4

      @@cendekiarobbani1558 sacred path is generally better, since you can use faith to produce units that will be crucial to any victory. Divine spark is a good second option, for it is too focused on great people and does not have the versatility of the first.

    I remember one time I was doing inland sea with Pedro and nearly every single tile around me was rainforest so I placed a holy site to get +6 faith then when I got a pantheon I realized one of them gives you extra faith to holysites if there next to rainforest so now it was +12 then I get the policy card to double adjacency bonuses and I got a +24! Holysite around turn 50

    This civ is such a lousy civ because it relies on jungles. As you point out, if you have no jungle around a city, that bonus is meaningless. But even more importantly, chopping jungle is so important for gaining population and some production, especially early to mid game. In late game you need to clear land for districts. I would give them a D for a grade, only because there are actually worst civs than Brazil.

    • @gabrielzinho3230
      @gabrielzinho3230 5 років тому +19

      Then you don't know how to play Brazil. If there are no jungles around, just go for early wars, use the carnival and copacabanas to keep war weariness at bay, then turn to loyalty war.
