I'm very sorry, but it annoys me when people refer to our doors are open as the first corey solo. this is blatant erasure of big t's temptation and pays to be an animal
I also thought about that, like it’s his first in a while and he doesn’t have a lot but it’s not his first. And pays to be an animal is a straight bop.
Though I will say, Monsters and Men (Reprise) being the worst song is objectively wrong? I’d argue it’s almost certainly better than the first version, and maybe better than most of the songs.
sorio99 personally for me, it’s Jeff’s falsetto that ruins it for me. I don’t mind it every so often, or for comedic affect, it it was really overused in the reprise, which is a shame because it’s a good song otherwise and a crucial plot point.
@@sorio99 The reprise is better than the original because the reprise is significantly shorter than the original. Monsters and Men is I think the only song that can be quantified as a bad song, and is the only song I skip on reviewings.
hate to be that fucking person, but what he does is not a falsetto. he could be belting, but falsetto tends to be airy and not very loud. In fact, if he actually used falsetto for the higher bits, it would potenentially be a bit more pleasant.

I was honestly surprised at Wiggle being so low. I think it's better than adore me. And I always think there should be more Joey in all the things, so yeah.
Yeah you know they have to make the best choices for the characters, and sometimes that just comes down to picking randomly or down to looks or just aesthetic. It’s very complicated but it has nothing to do with their talent necessarily
I totally agree, do you want to play is my absolute favorite from this musical. It might not be as long or flashy as others but I get chills anytime I listen to it
I agree about Corey and Joey! It fits with the story that they didn’t sing as much, (I also wish lauren sang more but that’s even more against the story) but I think in some ensemble parts it would have been perfectly easy to give Corey and Joey more parts. Like in the first couple lines of Let it Out, it goes Jeff Mariah then rob, it could have been them. Idk its just so blatantly there that they could have sang even a little more but I mean oh well. I get why they didn’t have songs but they could’ve sang more.
If I Fail, Wiggle, and Do You Want To Play were ranked way too low. They are lowkey hella underrated. The number one choice "What If Tomorrow Comes" definitely deserved being the top song. It is amazing!
All the rankings I’ve personally seen have put Do You Want To Play in the top half of the list and honestly I really cannot stand that song. Kim’s vocals are amazing, but it makes me hella uncomfortable and I cannot listen to it on it’s own
Agreed. Do You Want to Play is my #1 and Wiggle is in my top 5. Along with Black Friday, Tomorrow, Our Door ls are Open, and Feast or Famine. I know that’s 6 songs, but they’re interchangeable depending on my mood.
A lot of people are saying that caliform.i.a is overrated, Personally, I love caliform.i.a and I think the reason people love it so much is because of Angela and Robert (and Kendall). Angela is so convincing in her role as Lex. A burnt out teen, tired of supporting her mom, in love with her boyfriend, would die for her sister. I really appreciated the acting. And Ethan and Lex genuinely seem like they are having fun singing, almost laughing at some points. I know the vocals weren’t the best, the studio recording is phenomenal. But for me, the reason it is my fave song is because of the way the actors do it
dayzee Y E S that’s my unpopular opinion apparently lol. Best starkid singer getting two incredibly emotional ballads in this show and people really be sleeping on him.
Rachel Dunleavey I love his vocals, but I just really don't like ballads. If I fail you is my number 3 or 4 though, it's really just What Tim wants that I find meh
IDoStuff Fairs if you don’t like ballads, but people really be loving emotional numbers like if I believed and then sleeping on his songs in this. What Tim wants is my fav by a mile but that’ll probably change soon lol. Can’t understand how it’s second to the bottom on some peoples lists. Under monsters and men. I’m like????
My main gripe with What Tim Wants is its placement in the show. It's a long song and the first real musical number (not counting the Wiggly jingle) and kills the pacing. Dylan didn't help by singing it like it was a showstopping Act 2 number. Great song, bad placement.
*Deep breath in* I REALLY LIKE MONSTERS AND MEN REPRISE EVEN IF IT’S REALLY SHORT I THINK THE INTERVAL JUMPS IN JEFF’S VOICE ARE REFRESHING FOR SONG WRITING BUT ALSO SHOWS MCNAMARA’S DESPERATION FOR LEX TO FIGHT BACK AS THE LAST HOPE FOR HUMANITY AGAINST WIGGLY!!! IT HURTS THAT IT’S ALWAYS SO LOW ON EVERYONE’S LIST BUT MINE!!!
Monsters and Men Reprise finally gets Jeff to nail his falsetto after his so-so falsetto in TGWDLM, yet it’s still ranked lower than an intentionally annoying toy jingle
I feel like I need to listen to the cast recording because he's still so dang off key in his falsetto parts for so much of the youtube version. His chest voice is SO LOVELY I just wish he would allow himself to stay thereeeee
@@TheAelishify genuinely, the album is much better. I don't know if it was the plague that was going through the cast or just the complicated nature of the songs (thanks Jeff), but the UA-cam recording is rough in a lot of places (especially for Jeff, Lauren, and Joey).
Can we talk about James Tolbert for a sec, I mean he choreographed this musical and also sang and danced himself. Like seriously this dude has talent. Also the choreography for Deck the Halls was by far my favourite choreo of the whole show!
Monserrat Gonzalez exactly! My ranking would be 1 Feast or Famine 2 literally everything 3 everything 4 absolutely everything 5 why can't every song be in my top 5 ffs
The saddest thing about Black Friday is that Dylan only has ballads. Like, he is a super good singer, but he has more range than just what's in the ballad.
Eeek this might be a controversial opinion but I honestly think Take Me Back is the best song in the show. It's so heartbreaking but also wholesome. It might just be because I'm super gay for Kim but honestly her and Dylan sound incredible together I can't even cope with it.
I’m not big on it, cuz it’s more of a song about love itself than their relationship. While the vocals are good, it doesn’t add much to the story or these characters
Because there’s no interesting choreography, the lyrics aren’t the best, and the lack of harmonies adds no spice. Don’t get me wrong, Dylan has a great voice, the writers just didn’t give him any good material.
Dylan is a fantastic singer, easily the best male singer in starkid. For me, there was nothing interesting happening on screen though. With a song like feast or famine, there are so many different things happening at once, that you never catch on the first viewing. Dylan’s solo are him standing there. His solos are amazing song wise, if I fail you is honestly beautiful, but I feel like he got let down by the writers
Why are people saying that there was nothing “interesting” happening? It’s.. it’s a ballad. It’s supposed to be motionless. It’s a SOLO. That’s the point. It’s character driven, it’s not meant to be aesthetic.
I can't get really into Black Friday as a whole, to be honest (just not my cup'o'tea, you know? I feel like it couldn't decide on its general tone which is why so many people say there was something off about it) but if there's one song that I really loved it was Do You Want To Play With Me. Ugh, it was so good! The vocal, the lyrics and the over-all creepy-ness just made this whole scene! I still hear it in my head from time to time, it was genius!
I agree! My friends and I watched it together and all of us felt it was their weakest musical. We love Team Starkid, but it felt like there were too many things going on and it got overly complicated, plus we just kinda got bored. Based on what we'd seen before it came out we thought it'd be another kinda creepy musical comedy like TGWDLM, but the tone was just depressing and slow a lot of the time. It picked up a bit by the second act, but even then we were struggling to keep watching. I think it took itself too seriously as a message about American consumerism and didn't have any kind of subtlety to it . Some songs weren't bad, but we couldn't really remember any of them by the time it was over, heck, we forgot some of them halfway through watching. I do agree too that Do You Want To Play With Me is really good because of how beautiful her voice is and how creepy they play it. I still love Team Starkid, but this one was kinda disappointing. Of course I still support them and I can't wait to see how they do in their next show.
I thought I was the only one who felt this way!! I can’t help but think tgwdlm is better, only because I remember what’s going on and all the songs were super catchy. I do think with Black Friday they definitely stepped up their game in terms of production, which made the actual look and sound very beautiful and entertaining. I really liked the story definitely but idk something about it just doesn’t sit right with me
Do You Want to Play With Me is perfect. It’s not like an amazing song you play on repeat, but for a musical, it did exactly what it wanted to accomplish. I agree with the tone, though. I still don’t think Starkid has learned how to balance a humorous musical with social commentary. Do You Want to Play With Me set the creepy tone perfectly, and the whole musical could’ve had that without really long Santa movie interruptions and extended solos from Tom about his son that no one cares about.
sydneyhasthetea I think it was missing character development. We didn’t get to know the characters well because there were so many of them and so much happening. For example do you want to play with me happens and hannah doesn’t trust Becky and tom then the next we see them together they are hugging as if nothing happened.
@@dushdjtoedushdjtoe3298 ?? A huge percent of this musical is character development. This is the most character focused musical starkid has ever produced, and you cant prove me wrong.
Okay so 1) Monsters and Men is so underrated and deserves better, y'all! 2) Is no one gonna talk about Joey's yeet from the stairs all the way to Curt in Made in America??
@@soupsoup4245 after seeing that man do a quick change and climb up to a catwalk in 25 seconds to be a sad gay flashback, nothing he can do really surprises me anymore. (And I agree, Monsters and Men is actually a pretty good song. I'm not so hot in the reprise though.)
The last note Jeff hits and then Jaime sings a super high note too and harmonises with him and turns it into a scream?? That part is so underrated, it gives me chills
1.Oh man. The reprise is better than monsters and men, in my opinion anyway. 2.Yes, Deck the Halls IS an underrated bop. 3. Corey needed more than one song. He is a freaking STAR. 4. I'm glad Black Friday is in the top 5 5. I'm glad CaliforM.I.A is in the top 3 6. I'm glad What If Tomorrow Comes is number 1 Sorry for the long comment
As much as I love Our Doors Are Open, it's not Corey's first solo, like everyone keeps saying. Big T's Temptation from Me and My Dick Pays To Be An Animal from Trail to Oregon
For me, it's because the songs are too low for her. The songs themselves are fine, but she's a high soprano and these songs are much closer to alto range. She doesn't actually hit the low notes.
To me, it's because I was annoyed whenever her voice went from low to nasally. Like, I know it's for comedic effect, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me.
Also, I found her songs pretty... long, and not all that memorable. I love Lauren, and it’s nice seeing her in a different role, but this wasn’t the highlight of the show for me
oh wow, surprised by how low "If I fail you" and "Take me Back" are in this ranking. Those are two of my top 5 songs of the musical. I do agree with most of the other songs in the list. But it seems like I enjoy Dylan Saunders a bit more than most. XD (And they're just very solid songs I feel?) "What Tim wants" is one of my least fav songs from the musical, so I did not disagree with that ranking. It felt like... I dunno, too much filler. Dylan performs it well but it's still a song that doesn't really feel necessary in the musical.
In my opinion, both of Lauren's solos were really some of the weakest on the soundtrack. I love Lauren, but when she sings in her lower register it doesn't sound that great. Also If I Fail Again is basically the same as What Tim Wants, but it does it so much better
dust bunny I personally love Wiggle, but that's just because of the ensemble parts to be honest. Otherwise, it's a meh song. Adore me is much lower on my list though, at the most number 10
I agree about Lauren. She's not consistent enough for me to say I enjoy listening to her all the time. I truly did love her in Firebringer and TGWDLM, but here... These songs did not pair well with her voice.
Can you do a ''best little moments'' poll? Not quotes, but some stellar unnoticed acting moments? My faves: Joey's bottom lip when threatened with the Easybake Oven - Paul and Ted's little exchange during final song - Jeff's chaotic run at the start of Feast & Famine - same song, the 'chaos reigns' pose
ta vh You’re honestly the first person I’ve seen mention the fact that Paul notices Ted and looks very surprised to see him. I wonder what that means. I feel like seeing your coworker wouldn’t be that weird, but he was completely caught off guard.
This was my favorite starkid musical, partially because it was just amazing overall, partially because every song on the soundtrack fuckin slaps, and partially because I can actually play some of the songs around my family without getting banned from the internet forever
Schneckinator 500 I completely agree, whilst it isn’t my personal favourite, the voters really did monsters and men dirty. The reprise I understand cause it’s so short, but the main song didn’t deserve this.
Don't kill me but I agree with the low ranking. Here's what I think are the reasons people didn't like it. This is controversial, I don't like getting into political stuff, and I am undoubtedly going to be hated, but this is just my view 1. Jeff's falsettos. I along with a lot of other people don't like them. When he plays it for laughs as in What Do You Want Paul it is not so bad, but here he seems to be playing it straight and going for operatic but it just comes off as slightly unhinged and hysterical. 2. I don't really like McNamara, who was introduced in TGWDLM as a sort of wacko, loose-canon commander of a Machiavellian covert action team, as the hero. The implication that to solve our problems we need a person charging in with a gun is not very popular any more. After all, one interpretation is McNamara's half-cocked belligerence destroyed the world, he and PEIP caused World War 3 by recommending the use of a hydrogen bomb before they understood their enemy. But he's presented as a straight hero. 3. The lyrics of the song are kind of objectionable. Yes, this is a fantasy where men ARE fighting a monster, but it has unpleasant associations to recent events. I think people may be getting tired of promotion of unquestioning patriotism and a view of the world as Good (us) vs Evil (them). Again, if the song was played as over-the-top satire like America Is Great Again it would have been more popular, but it was played as straight.
@@seanmcmurphy4744 if you think that this musical portrays America as unequivocally good, you really missed the message... yes, some characters see themselves as the hero but the story as a whole is a critique on mindless and egotistical capitalist consumerism.
@@TiaMat99 No, I understand and really like that part. It's just that, considering the results, McNamara and his H-bomb pushing gang should have been portrayed more satirically. Maybe the message of the song was satirical and I missed it. But from it's unpopularity I think many people in the audience got the same impression I did. Or maybe it's just the falsettos.
When I voted I had only heard each song once a couple days prior so what I had in mind when I voted probably isn't what I feel about the songs now. But it's too late for that now.
It's interesting that someone commented that the songs were finally suited for Lauren, but a lot of the comments I have seen say it was too low for her range. I have to agree. She's a soprano and these songs were more for an alto
I feel like the only one but from the standpoint of someone with a low register I just, don't vibe with lex' singing? I kind of feel bad about it because I really like her energy and everything else she brings to the character but I just don't like her singing, it feels off to me :(
Her songs weren't written for her register also. I think it's pretty noticeable. I'm interested to see if she's in the next Starkid show and if she'll have a part actually written for her voice.
I actually didn't love half of the songs while listening to it but I do really like the feel of the musical and hope they continue with this darker vibe a bit. But I pretty much agree with this rank. I think Do You Want to Play is robbed here though lol
bruh all of the characters in "What if tomorrow comes" are the ones from TGWDLM (save for those not in it). like Joey is dressed as Ted, Jim is Mr Davidson and Robert is even dressed as the dude from the coffee shop (u can only see his back tho) am I the only one just realizing this?
Honestly this musical wasn’t one of my favourites or best of starkid, there was a lot of wasted potential imo because they’re all amazing singers and actors but the musical as a whole felt... off? and the songs didn’t work best to each performers voice. I’m surprised it’s ranked so high up out of all of the starkid musicals for so many people but I feel like a lot of new fans haven’t watched the older musicals
I think therea only one starkid show I haven't seen, and while that could be the case that people who havent seen older productions think its top tier, though it's not my all time favorite I still think it's up there in favorites.
i personally like tgwdlm way better. black friday was so heavy handed with the message and i didn’t care about half the characters. the actors all did great jobs (jon matteson as ensemble sticks out) but i really disliked the becky/tom thing and the wiggly cult edit: half the songs were also incredibly boring. the first time i was actually excited by the music was feast or famine (califorMIA too but i’d already heard it before)
There was so much talent here and so many references to TGWDLM that I kinda forget to pay attention to the script. For content, I think it tries to do dark humor at the same time as being serious, and that can clash at times. I enjoyed it a lot, but Act II was slow and full of some of the same stuff. We barely got to spend time with Tom and Becky as well as Lex and Hannah, so neither of those relationships were really developed enough for me to care deeply about them. It was really serious in tone and misses that classic starkid parody feel, which TGWDLM had even though it wasn’t a parody.
As much as I love Dylan I felt like every single one of his songs were sooo slow that they kept interrupting the pace which kinda hurt the show as a whole
I think it’s because Jeff just wrote the songs to his preference. He didn’t write them for anyone’s voices. Both Lauren and Lex, (I don’t know her name rip), are singing way of their ranges. Lauren’s just NOT an alto, and Lex is vocal frying/shout singing all over the place.
Since everyone is doing their personal rankings I'll just leave this here. This is based on my personal enjoyment, less based on my list for great to greatest. 17. Monsters and Men (reprise) 16. Tickle-Me Wiggly Jingle 15. What If Tomorrow Comes 14. Monsters and Men 13. Black Friday 12. Take Me Back 11. If I Fail You 10. CaliforM.I.A. 9. Wiggle 8. Our Doors Are Open 7. What do you say 6. Adore Me 5. Made In America 4. What Tim Wants (I can barely listen to it because it makes me cry but it's still one of my favorites) 3. Do You Want To Play 2. Deck The Halls 1. Feast or Famine
Unpopular opinion- Monsters and men/(reprise) is really good. The youtube versions don’t do the songs justice! Also the beginning of monsters and men is just awesome. Side note- how dare you treat what tim wants and if i fail you with such disrespect!(you can tell i’m a sucker for some good Dylan vocals)
An unpopular opinion but I really don't enjoy Do You Want To Play. Their voices are amazing and it sounds good enough but the tonal shift was too much for me. Compared to the rest of the soundtrack it doesn't fit and stands out not in a good way. If you cut the song out nothing of merit is really lost :/
My unpopular, unwanted ranking of Black Friday songs 🤷♀️ 17. What Tim Wants 16.Monsters and Men (Reprise) 15. If I Fail You 14. Monsters and Men 13. Take Me Back 12. Wiggle 11. Made in America 10. I had to force Deck the Halls out of my head after I couldn’t stop singing it for like 3 days after first watching Black Friday 😂 I still love it though. My top 3 are definitely Deck the Halls, CaliforMIA and Feast or Famine
I always forget What if Tommorow Comes is a song because I remember it mostly from the trailer, but like. Whenever it shows up at #1 on ranking lists I just silently nod in approval
I wasn’t sure about the music in the show at all until I listened to the album constantly for like 3 days straight. I can’t explain why but Tickle-Me Wiggly Jingle and Monsters and Men get stuck in my head the most. They’re bops.
Black Friday is officially my favourite starkid soundtrack I actually don’t skip any songs and there’s always usually one. Like I fucken love that I’m dancing around to feast or famine then crying to what tim wants. Love it Jeff really outdid himself with this one truly!
@@boopydoopy1678 I don't either! She's obviously doing her best but she's also obviously not a singer. Loved her acting though. In that aspect, she was well cast.
Okay while a lot of people talk about how this isn’t one of the their best musical, and I just wasn’t to put some positivity out there. Musicals take a lot of work and the fact that their production is so amazing and this was definitely scary in a realistic way. No not the elder god way, but the consumerism and nuke way. Especially in the world right now. (It’s march 2020, for future notice)
Dylan is a phenomenal singer and actor but I dont think this musical did him justice. What Tim Wants for example just didn't do it for me and Dylan usually has me crying with emotional songs.
For the tickle me wiggly, my favorite line is, "And his belly is so squishy" because it has such a childish sounding to it which is very good. Also, Lauren really shouldn't be doing low voiced type songs. She's a high soprano if I remember, so I don't think it's healthy for her voice to go that deep
aa this is probably going to get me hate but 🥺 here is my ranking 17) Wiggle (do yall already hate me) 16) Adore Me (no I dont hate Lauren, but something about her vocals make me feel,, icky 😭 I loved her other roles tho) 15) If I Fail You 14) M.A.M (Reprise) 13) Black Friday 12) Take Me Back 11) What Tim Wants 10) Califor.M.I.A 9) Monsters and Men 8) Made In America 7) Tickle Me Wiggly Jingle 6) What Do You Say 5) Deck The Halls (of Northville High) 4) Feast Or Famine 3) Do You Want To Play 2) What If Tomorrow Comes 1) Our Doors Are Open (I absolutely LOVED this song, such a bop) I loved all of the songs, but others make me feel so hyped up and scared, so I count that as an advantage 🥺🤩
Honestly I love the album version of Black Friday (the song). A lot of people have been talking about how a lot of the cast was sick when the show was recorded, and I feel like you can really hear the difference between the two versions of Black Friday the most.

sorry but one of the best vocal moments is the end of monsters and men when jeff does the transition from his mix (i think that’s what it is, people always say falsetto but it’s *not*) into his chest voice.
My only real issue with the music in this one was just that a lot of the songs felt very dragged out (especially Dylans solos since there wasn't much going on on screen. he has a beautiful voice don't get me wrong), some of the songs felt out of their ranges (Laurens were too low, same with Angela, Jeff's "falsetto" was..too much,) but im sure it wasn't helpful that a lot of the cast was sick during the recording.
6:28 why did it actually hurt when you didnt put the "give us your fucking money" part in that is my favorite part edit: ok good you put it in the end nevermind im good
black friday (the song) is so FUCKING good. this may or may not be influenced by the massive gay crush I have on Angela but also, it's genuinely an excellent song
Excuse me adore me is 1 gold. It’s so funny, it’s a great villain song, the vocals are amazing, Linda’s lines are hilarious, and it’s so catchy. Underrated queeeeen
Why are all of Dylan’s songs so low? (I’m including his two duets with Kim even tho Do You Want to Play is really Kim’s song and not Dylan’s but I’m still including because he’s the only other singer in it)
Because I haven't seen this brought up anywhere and I only noticed it on my second watching, has anyone else noticed that in What If Tomorrow Comes, that the returning cast from TGWDLM is dressed in their costumes from that show. Paul and Emma are just wearing the same that they wear in their Black Friday scenes, but you've also got Mr Davidson (Jeff), Bill (Corey), Ted (Joey), and Charlotte (Jaime)
In my honest opinion I like what Tim wants better than if I fail you. Idk why but if I fail you doesn’t appeal to me as much as what tim wants. (Dylan is a king in both and every single one is amazing )

But for me, the reason it is my fave song is because of the way the actors do it
Also it starts so suddenly with the best line ever...
*"MY MOM'S A BITCH."*
Depresso Espresso it’s a dramatic comedic beat that I am loving for 100%
Yessssss I love Caliform.i.a.

dayzee THANK YOU SO MUCH. Dylan’s two songs are my number one and two lol
dayzee Y E S that’s my unpopular opinion apparently lol.
Monsters and Men Reprise finally gets Jeff to nail his falsetto after his so-so falsetto in TGWDLM, yet it’s still ranked lower than an intentionally annoying toy jingle
I think it's just bc it's really short. It is super underrated though

It's by far my favorite song on this soundtrack as well. I was humming it to myself for days after it came out.
I’m not big on it, cuz it’s more of a song about love itself than their relationship. While the vocals are good, it doesn’t add much to the story or these characters

WHY DOES NOBODY LIKE DYLANS SOLOS THERE LIKE IN MY TOP 5 STARKID SONGS. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!! IM IN A RAAAAAAAAGGE!!!
Me too
Why are people saying that there was nothing “interesting” happening? It’s.. it’s a ballad.

I can’t believe people don’t like Lauren’s in this musical! Her songs are both in my top 5
I love Lauren, and it’s nice seeing her in a different role, but this wasn’t the highlight of the show for me
Wtf why is everyone hating on the Monsters and Man reprise, I think it's even better than the original song
I think soemtimes you have to rewatch a musical to appreciate all the songs. It'll probably grow on most people as time goes on
For some reason it reminds me of that one scene in Lion King.
Same!!
I think it's one of the best songs in the show
I think it’s fantastic!
IF I FAIL SHOULD NOT BE THAT LOW
oh wow, surprised by how low "If I fail you" and "Take me Back" are in this ranking.
Same!! Imagine if “What Tim Wants” was a duet between Tim and Tom?
Same. If I Fail you is a musical masterpiece imo.
Who ranked If I Fail You that low, I just wanna talk...
In my opinion, both of Lauren's solos were really some of the weakest on the soundtrack. I love Lauren, but when she sings in her lower register it doesn't sound that great. Also If I Fail Again is basically the same as What Tim Wants, but it does it so much better
Adore Me and Wiggle are also just weaker songs in general.
dust bunny that’s actually exactly what I was thinking lol
dust bunny I personally love Wiggle, but that's just because of the ensemble parts to be honest.
Otherwise, it's a meh song. Adore me is much lower on my list though, at the most number 10
Listen to the soundtrack version of wiggle and adore me and then tell this
I agree about Lauren. She's not consistent enough for me to say I enjoy listening to her all the time. I truly did love her in Firebringer and TGWDLM, but here... These songs did not pair well with her voice.
I just realized in Black Friday, Lex says “my father’s hopeless seed.” A callback to “not your seed”??
Shawn Dougherty well I mean, Mariah was going to play Lex so...
Unpopular opinion: Dylan’s solos “What Tim Wants” and “If I Fail You” are the best songs in the show by a good long mile.
I thought Feast or Famine is the best
so you’re all really gonna sleep on What Tim Wants and If I Fail You, huh?
Our Doors Are Open really makes me want Corey as a main villain in one these musicals.

Offended my favorite song is the last two
Schneckinator 500 I completely agree, whilst it isn’t my personal favourite, the voters really did monsters and men dirty. The reprise I understand cause it’s so short, but the main song didn’t deserve this.
Don't kill me but I agree with the low ranking. Here's what I think are the reasons people didn't like it. This is controversial, I don't like getting into political stuff, and I am undoubtedly going to be hated, but this is just my view
@@LyleTheWaterAquaticGuy Ikr, I love Monsters and Men and so many people hate it
Yay “what do you say” in a top 5. Now I can rest peacefully
She's a soprano and these songs were more for an alto
i am here to defend the tickle me wiggly jingle, it’s a bop and the way it’s performed/written is so well done
I feel like the only one but from the standpoint of someone with a low register I just, don't vibe with lex' singing? I kind of feel bad about it because I really like her energy and everything else she brings to the character but I just don't like her singing, it feels off to me :(
I think that most of the cast was sick during the recording so that’s probably why
Yeah I think she was sick during the recording bc on the cast recording she sounds MILES better
I personally love it because it fits the character amazingly.
Courtney Quinn Agreed!
Her songs weren't written for her register also. I think it's pretty noticeable. I'm interested to see if she's in the next Starkid show and if she'll have a part actually written for her voice.
Im really confused. Why does everyone say we finally got a Corey solo? Did everyone forget about MAMD and TTO?
I actually didn't love half of the songs while listening to it but I do really like the feel of the musical and hope they continue with this darker vibe a bit. But I pretty much agree with this rank. I think Do You Want to Play is robbed here though lol
I thought I was the only one! I loved Do You Want to Play!
bruh all of the characters in "What if tomorrow comes" are the ones from TGWDLM (save for those not in it). like Joey is dressed as Ted, Jim is Mr Davidson and Robert is even dressed as the dude from the coffee shop (u can only see his back tho) am I the only one just realizing this?
Just because monsters and mens reprise is short it seems to get a low ranking.... but fammm I got chills on Jeff's high notes it's so underrated imo

the TRUTH
I actually like the reprise of monsters and men more because Jeff's falsetto is tamer and also the background chorus, those harmonies give me chills.
I feel like every ranking is really different, but they all put what if tomorrow comes the first one
I think therea only one starkid show I haven't seen, and while that could be the case that people who havent seen older productions think its top tier, though it's not my all time favorite I still think it's up there in favorites.
i personally like tgwdlm way better. black friday was so heavy handed with the message and i didn’t care about half the characters. the actors all did great jobs (jon matteson as ensemble sticks out) but i really disliked the becky/tom thing and the wiggly cult
edit: half the songs were also incredibly boring. the first time i was actually excited by the music was feast or famine (califorMIA too but i’d already heard it before)
There was so much talent here and so many references to TGWDLM that I kinda forget to pay attention to the script.

6:28 why did it actually hurt when you didnt put the "give us your fucking money" part in
that is my favorite part
edit: ok good you put it in the end nevermind im good
black friday (the song) is so FUCKING good. this may or may not be influenced by the massive gay crush I have on Angela but also, it's genuinely an excellent song
“If I fail you” gets me eVeRytiMe😭
Excuse me adore me is 1 gold. It’s so funny, it’s a great villain song, the vocals are amazing, Linda’s lines are hilarious, and it’s so catchy. Underrated queeeeen
I LOVE California M.I.A. SO MUCH
Why are all of Dylan’s songs so low? (I’m including his two duets with Kim even tho Do You Want to Play is really Kim’s song and not Dylan’s but I’m still including because he’s the only other singer in it)
Am I the only one who didn’t love When Tomorrow Comes??
I still think it was really good- but not my #1
I am being personally attacked by the fact that monsters and men is 16th. I can’t believe this, it is top 5 at least for me
Oof, apparently this is just about the most unpopular opinion out there. Everyone likes the reprise better but I can’t relate
FEAST OR FAMINE
Because I haven't seen this brought up anywhere and I only noticed it on my second watching, has anyone else noticed that in What If Tomorrow Comes, that the returning cast from TGWDLM is dressed in their costumes from that show. Paul and Emma are just wearing the same that they wear in their Black Friday scenes, but you've also got Mr Davidson (Jeff), Bill (Corey), Ted (Joey), and Charlotte (Jaime)
and hot chocolate guy!!
Northville high and made in America were the best in my opinion
In my honest opinion I like what Tim wants better than if I fail you. Idk why but if I fail you doesn’t appeal to me as much as what tim wants. (Dylan is a king in both and every single one is amazing )
i feel like,,, all of them should get first place. they're all amazing and beautiful
