Dude, we can talk amongst ourselves until our ears fall off and Niantic won’t change a thing. Everyone needs to just stop spending money and possibly even just stop playing the game all together for a few months to get their attention. Until this happens, nothing will change.
A crazy amount of people here have just quit altogether. I think they just want to get as much money out of those of us that are left and shut the game down in the next two to three years. That's the only reason I can think of Niantic would be running thing like this.
they will change. the primary question is if they will change before it's too late. the primary factor is wokeness. they practice DEI which is why they lost their best developers and now depend on external developers for various parts of the game. It has been shown they fly the lgbtetc flag and support those causes. they changed the avatars in horrifying ways. it's all DEI. it's all destructive and completely irrelevant to this game. Japan does not support these types of things and the moment the Pokemon brand is damaged by it, that's the moment Nintendo cracks down and shuts it all down. but closer to the ground, it is definitely too expensive to play. and this isn't as damaging to OG players... it is damaging because I have effectively quit already and I am definitely OG and have paid for every global event along with buying excessive amounts of items in the game. It hurts to look back on it and hurts more knowing that it can't continue. But new players are especially affected along with any players who might consider returning. The high costs work against already addicted players but are a non-starter to anyone new and to returning players. In short, no new/returning players means a loss of players over all. It is the number of players that is the life of the game, not the money amount per player. they have already destroyed past , present and future players with their obscene implementation of gigantimax. it is a hard wall for the typical player which they long ago started was "Singaporean grandmothers" or the like. They are pushing out players and preventing new/returning players from participating as well. To me, the main question is whether or not this is the intended outcome. And to investors of Niantic, they have good reason to file a massive law for against the board of directors for violations of fiduciary responsibility and for the illegal discrimination against employees and contractors based on the already court-ruled findings that DEI "the Mission" is completely illegal under US labor law. They have created a heavy disaster for themselves.
@@st.petessavior6055I didn't think so. Elaborate. It's not enough to say "you're wrong." Prove it. Ideology drove normative to fire productive employees based on being white and straight and male. There are already legal motions being made. The ideology is commonly known as woke. if you disagree with definitions of informal/slang terminology? you already lost.
I think this happened ages ago when they refused to listen to any of the creators and community. I think they’re trying to get as much $ as possible before the ship goes down
And it's not just Niantic. The entire gaming industry has adopted this predatory system that only benefits the company and its investors who could care less about quality. More money, low effort. That's their business model now.
@@ArtimusDragonthe short term success is all they see. But it's worse as they practice DEI wokism which is already being ruled by the courts as illegal in the US because it is both racist and sexist. And because these rulings are coming down and they have not ceased the practice, they are now exposed to massive civil suits and other legal issues brought against niantic by share holders. This is an implosion you can expect to see sooner rather than later as these legal suits against woke corporate operators are growing in size and scale very rapidly. Already IBM and RedHat are targeted by the rights organizations and the department of Justice soon to be under right wing leadership. They won't be taking prisoners or making deals. What they call "the woke mind virus" is a thing they regard as a disease... what do you do with diseases? do you negotiate with diseases or do you eradicate them to save lives?
@@johnnyb6343I call BS. 90% is really high. 100% can be free if you don't play anything but casual spin and catch. but for meaningful play, it's quite expensive to keep up with the crowd. it is becoming more free though... the more I quit doing the less I spend. I'm now spending nothing but guess what I'm not going to be able to do? pretty much everything I want to do.
As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't look like Niantic is ever going going to change. Despite the feedback, they care for no one but themselves. They have completely remove gender, nerfing remote raids, stealing player data for money, and also becoming a careless and greedy disrespectful horrible corporation. Niantic shows zero remorse of there community and it needs justification. Someone needs to fill out some petitions and file a lawsuit against Niantic for all the controversial decisions.
Last year (2023) they made 689.99M and this year (2024, we have 6 more days left in the year) was their worst year with a profit of 322.15M. The game is already dying, they just cashing out as much as they can.
It’s literally Niantic own fault for basically alienating Remote Raids and now they have do all these paid tickets and other nonsense, that Micheal guy or whatever his dumb name is needs to lock in and fix his game 🤦♂️
I get they needed to do something about them, but limiting them to 5 a day was enough. Increasing the price to the point that gym coins couldn't keep them stocked anymore was just adding a real world go-tax to rural players, which is pretty messed up. Especially since they are obviously trying to recover from not getting that revenue from their remote-raid whales by over-monetizing everything else.
@@picsl8ed867 Actually for me the limit was the death nail for me, I was a heavy user of PokeGenie and the limit removed too many players/passes from the system. The thing is the remote pass was the only thing in the game that you could just spend and spend and ~get something specific from. No egg event on earth can replace someone like me dropping a $80 on the primal raid weekend.
Unfortunately, money is the only language greedy business people understand. The only way the game is gonna change is if the suits at the top are in danger of losing money or their IP.
Sad reality is, even if some miracle happened and people would stop giving Niantic money, they would more likely shut the game down and work on something else instead of fixing the game. Wizards United was fun, but didn't bring enough money, so they shut it down. That's the greed of the current gaming industry.
I thought about this a lot over the last 2 years. So I made a New Year's Resolution that I am quitting Pokemon Go in Feb. I have spent over $5,000 since 2016 over 3 different accounts. One more than the other but I'm done with their paywall system. I wish I could communicate it with Pokemon Go friends internationally before I stop sending gifts. So I will just remove them as friends so that I don't feel guilty for not sending them daily. Also, I don't think they are going to change. They haven't shown it. I will still support your channel and channels that have Pokemon Go content. Uninstalling the game but leaving the account open. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Its sad to say i miss the simple days of 2016. And even 2017 and 2018, back when it was pretty free to play and everyone was excited about these events. I very rarely spend money on this game and infact, i find myself playing less and less.
ur so dumb im sorry. in 2016 you couldnt play this game outside of events and inside events maybe for a few hours. now there is 10x the content in the game for free. get urself out of the victim role or just get a life
Niantic has absolutely NO respect for the players or their desires. That has been openly apparent for a long time now. It is a classic toxic relationship. 💯 % mismanagement.
The issue for me is monitization of free items (and shineys sometimes) takes advantage of smaller communities with limited players, stops and spawnpoints, so dropping a few bucks means you can get be on equal footing with those in larger communities. However, while i understand why large and small communities cannot be on equal footing, rather than only selling us items they could 'easily' sell a better gaming experience with add-ons like a real seasonal story/exploration modes, expanded showcases, or more PvP modes. Only think i ever buy is go-fests & they're primarily for the player interactions.
At this point, players who would otherwise quit may as well. I legitimately feel bad for trainers who continue sinking $10-20 monthly, or even hundreds per year, for incompetent game development. Nostalgia + the sunk cost fallacy is a heck of a drug. Niantic (very opaquely) hardly even enforces their own ToS at this point, lest they lose a paying whale.
3/4 plus of my community here has just given up and quit. We used to have to split up into two or even three groups for raids. Now, it takes us three separate communities, some of us traveling over an hour away to do gigantamax battles. I don't think they realize the problem is them and that this game is going to die if they don't change very soon. What should be a game that will last for years to come is going to be gone in the next two years.
I have slowed down a lot since the last about 6 months I feel like I have things thrown at me constantly I know you never "need" tickets and special tasks but lets be real, without them, it feel bare
that's because they are woke and the DEI is about getting rid of certain types of people. the talent crisis at Niantic leaked out some time ago but it was before we learned about certain illegal policies for hiring and who to decide to let go... and now it all makes sense because it's going on all over tech right now.
Reminds me of that one quote from Jurrasic World, "McDonald's presents...shiny Charizard". Wild pokemon shiny debuts are so sorely missed. Now it just feels like the pokemon are all in a zoo we gotta pay to see.
That how I feel for the past month my passion for this game is died just this month I only touch this game only ones where I used to play it everyday since day one
Definitely has become quite a greedy company when you have a large family and they all want to participate but they need to have coins to purchase essential things like remote rate passes whose deals are never beneficial and then to play for the events having five events in one month is absurd and now not affordable. We have reduced the number of people purchasing and the and the quantity of purchases allowed. We are now even reducing our gameplay. This is supposed to be a game where people can go out and play together but if you can achieve things, it just becomes a great disappointment.
Niantic saw the success they had in 2020 and 2021 and realized that they could make billions of dollars by doing anything, even taking away what we loved about the game those two years. It started in late 2021, and became completely apparent by 2023.
I'm stuck on the special research "Whisper in the woods" because of Corsola. Also my friends list is pretty dead. I hope this game gets better. A pretty lackluster holiday event too. The pokemom were themed poorly and ofc too much monetization to unlock small events
I am getting tired of all of these tickets, pokemon locked behind eggs and raids. As well as Safari Pokemon(with mudbray now added and can't get it). If this game goes down wouldn't bother me any, the only real reason I stayed at this point was because most of my friends did. I would say the Elite Collector medals locked behind egg pokemon are among the worst next to them charging $10-$15 for a mythical pokemon.
Mudbray isn't added yet, no one has it. It is coming in Pokémon GO City Safari: Singapore on March 29th, 2025. And will likely be released to everyone a week or two later - as they normally do.
@@jamesbaker4143 Probably will be until Alola tour event and Kalos tour for Skiddo before global since Skiddo isn't available global yet. Already got a Shiny Mudbray in Pokemon Violet about why I wanted it in Pokemon go as well.
Solid points as always. More cc needs to bring these issues to light rather than just making a side comment here and there. Im so glad you are not sponsored by Niantic because you say it like it is.
Please stop telling players they need 40 ppl to beat Gmax. It is like saying you need 20 ppl to beat 5 star raid. 40 is max people that can do it in one lobby. You could beat Gmax Toxtricity with 3 ppl with best counters. My group did it with 11 ppl and some of them have a wooloo in their party.
Agreed. The Kanto starter Gmax were by far the hardest, and we were able eventually find a rhythm and defeat those with 17 people with underserved and non-fully invested Dmax and Gmax. People complained that they were impossible to beat, and it really wasn’t. Those would be a breeze if those came back.
@honestfan420 4 ppl minimum. We did it with 16 and again some of us have squirter and wooloos. The most important part was that 1 person in each group must be a tank and have at least lvl 2 shield unlock and heal
I think, starting off, we need to distinguish between the three types of pay models. Pay-to-Win, Pay-to-Progress, and Pay-for-Prestige. Pay-to-Win means you cannot beat the game without paying. Pay-to-Progress means that you pay money to be able to do things faster or easier. Pay-for-Prestige means you are paying for the best, most perfect version of something or for some type of cosmetic. At the three minute mark, you talked about how you could get every Pokémon you want by just playing the game, and the money was for things like perfect IVs. Even if money gave you early access for mythical pokemon, they would come out later. How has that changed? What Pokemon in the game can you not get without spending money? What Pokemon are actually hard paywalled and not accessible to people through normal gameplay methods. Even Corsola, which is one you mentioned, can be gotten for free using 7k eggs and your daily incubator. This is pay-to-progress, not pay-to-win. As far as items go, you can also get all the items just by playing the game. You get a free incubator that never goes away. You also can get free incubators from winning showcases. You can also get 50 coins a day from Gyms for free. That is a free Egg Incubator every three days. Max Battles are meant to be done with a group, so while I think you have some valid criticism that those are monetized, this is still pay-to-progress. While it can be difficult to beat Max Battles in Rural areas, it is not impossible and can be done. Campfire, along with Discord and Reddit, can help coordinate groups for Max Battles. I do think this could use some adjustment, but this is also end-game, hardest part of the game content. If you want it, you have to put in the effort. As far as Shiny, Perfect IVs, Costumes, etc... that is Pay-for-Prestige. It's no different than paying for a skin in Fortnite. It doesn't give you an in-game advantage - with maybe the exception of Perfect IVs for the most high-end of players in PVP. And you can still get this in game for free, it just requires some luck or time. Right now, in game, there is a ticket called Feeling Sheepish. It's $5. It gives you Wooloo encounters, some cosmetic clothing, 2 incenses, a glacial lure, some Pinap berries, 3500 XP and 2000 Stardust. It offers no player power. It offers no shiny increase. I don't care about having a wooloo jacket. So, I'm not going to buy it. Some people will, and that is fine. But it gives no player power advantage. So, who cares if it is there. If you don't want it, don't buy it. More importantly, how do you think they SHOULD monetize the game in 2025. It's very easy to complain, but the community should come together and talk about monetization and how they want it going forward. "I want everything for free" is not a valid option because the game needs to make money - both to pay people and to pay for the infrastructure. Should they add advertisements? Should they add a battle pass? As of now, I'm fine with the way it is monetized. If they actually make it a game where you have to pay to have a power advantage, then I will be upset.
I missed the keldeo event, I can't have it traded to me since it's mythical, and I would have had to pay anyway. marshadow was behind a paywall. If I want Gogoat I need to fly to Asia, if I want Hawlucha, Mexico. Goldengho I need to buy a Switch and Scarlet & Violet. Melmetal was initially a Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee exclusive. Rotoms and the heart Spinda are only attainable by physically attending go fest with a digital ticket. Regigigas was originally behind a paywall. Granted you can get most of the content for free but if you want to participate at all levels, you have to make purchases. Couple this with mobile game dark pattern design starting to pop up and I worry for the game long term. And some people will just put the game down and go somewhere else. (The latest example is how the price of remote raids was raised because Niantic claimed they wanted to promote walking and outside play, but then they allow purchase of unlimited max points, a currency that's supposed to be attainable by walking and outside play)
I believe it is spelled Zarude but it came out once years ago apparently. It had a paid ticket recently. No other way to get it. So years of it not being available and when it finally was, it was paid. Keeping difficulty up on max crap because that isn't the problem when you can't get groups, no no no, it is not the difficulty it is YOUR lack of damage. This somehow is different? Well great news the problem they created they are willing to SELL you the solution for. Mushrooms. Egg based events so you have to be able to clear out old eggs to even get new eggs that then have a CHANCE to get you the mon you need. Only way to confidently get it is by having more incubators. How do you get them? Spend money on more of them. The rate of coins from gyms to everything you'd need to use them for leaves buying incubators as a ftp player a terrible option. Egg events are just made to increase incubator sales. I spend a little here and there on this game, but as someone playing for around 2 years now I'm already considering dropping it. Monetization mess.
Ok so roar of time and spacial rend, tell me you got the move first time for both 😂, a f2p player needs 4 days of gym coins for 1 remote raid, but the move is not guaranteed, I will tell you now I spent £40 just getting those two moves, if it's not pay to win, why did they increase the remote limit? Then kyogre and groudon, you had to do at least 3-4 raids for enough primal energy, took me 5 for both, got a hundo kyogre but trash groudon, it's a bloody game, why should people have to travel in the real world to gather 30 people to reliably take down a gmax, I spend a little here and there £20 a month used to give me everything I needed, now your talking £80 to £100 plus to keep up, I hatched 50+ eggs no galarian corsola, didn't buy the increased chance though lol games a waste of time and money unless you either live in a huge city with active players, play 24 hours, or create content for UA-cam, average casual can no longer keep up
Great video Count; love your points at the end, PGo is the pokemon fantasy to me (pokemon on the map) and most of the time after an event announcement all I can think is "'Does Niantic honestly think this is a dying game?"
Dope vid Count, Nerfantic wouldn’t be this down bad regarding hella tickets if they’d just let us have Unlimted remote raids at reasonable prices, when it was the pandemic era, we were gladly giving them money, now outside of the Tour and Go Feast I’m no spending nearly as much as i did during the pandemic era #RestoreTheRemoteRaidCommunity
started july, lvl41, my fave wife encouraged me to start. she pointed out routes and i gave in. sorted my zygard ages back and have over 100 more cells which are basically useless. is there any idea or thought what can be done with routes? ive clocked over 5km since i started but doing routes seems kid of silly now, maybe we could trade in cells for a new zygard?
The challenge here now, is to continue resisting FOMO, and have patience while being a f2p player, in order to Catch'm All! Feel free to buy what you need or want, but simply hold on buying something you can get for free later. It's not worth investing much in this game anymore.
Monetization is simple: They found the way to print money with Remote Raids during the dark times. They killed the golden goose. They see that they did, but they won't admit it... so they do this ticketing stuff. Their idea of community and the players idea of community are two different things. They made the wrong decision... now they want the player base to cough up money in this way that is egregious.
It's just become the company standard to charge for everything and give you nothing in return. My advice to anyone still playing is to not give Niantic your money for low effort content. Absolutely no one should feel the need to spend $40-50 a month to play this game post-remote raid nerf. I did for sure buy base value tickets for GoFest, Go Tour, and Wild Area. Beyond that, normal gameplay is free. Go is just weak sauce now.
Yeah, honestly I dropped Go last month because the cash grabbing just got way too bad. Couple that with my uglified avatar and the game becoming more of a job just to keep up with all of the events, especially as a free to play, and I just wasn't having fun anymore. So I dropped it. And I'm a day 1 player.
@@Polaroxide I night be misreading your comment and if I am please do clarify but it sounds like you are saying "its just money, just spend more on the game and you'll have fun." And if that is the case then I have to as respectful as possible say that you and people like you are the problem. You feed their greed and are easily milked cash cows.
@@Polaroxide Yeah, you're the problem then. Some of us aren't rich enough to dump money into a mobile game, it isn't "just money" for us. Between Pokemon Go and food, I choose food.
but thats what companys do they want money but Niantic waited and made it fun to draw in players, if they did this at the start it would simply not have worked, but now there player base is so huge they can get away with it for now atleast, i can see them soften up a little bit when things go south only to go money hungery again when stuff setteld down a little bit
It's crazy that anyone who has been playing this game doesn't think pogo isn't too expensive. I started a few years ago only because my father plays. Yes, there were tickets then, but they weren't out every other week and they were usually less than $5. You weren't paying to get every new release like you are now.
I've been playing this game for 5 years now let me tell you. Before Niantic controlled everything you do wether it be eggs tickets nerf to remote raids the limit on remote raids the game was a lot more fun. Yeah you raid as much as you do without having to rely on someone being right on top of you. I did everything Niantic wanted me to do while still buying remote raids wether it being data collecting for them or spinning new PokeStop or gyms. Everything you once got for free in the game gets absolutely paywalled. But before all this I remember people actually having fun playing this game and wasn't being controlled on everything little things they do in game. You can still only do 5 sets of battles throughout the whole day your always limited on something in this game. Niantic messes up then bans people for there mess ups like when they introduced routes. And then that rocket grunt events if you defeated a lot of grunts you risked being banned. All of this started happening soon after the nerfed remote raids this games has been in shambles. Of course people won't say nothing but pvp has been bugged for awhile now nothing been done on big events you get random lag issues out of nowhere. You still can't delete eggs another thing your forced to spend money on if you want them gone can't even get an option to delete them. We been speaking into Niantic deaf ears for awhile now. Couple youtubers speak up like pokeak (nick trainer) and count. Mystic won't ever speak up pokedaxi swears this game is above the clouds jtgilly just follows mystic again don't speak up fleeceking only speaks up when his account gets "banned" for being stolen . Zoetwodots don't speak the trainer there don't ever speak up because they are afraid they will lose something and j
Always been a free player I would never spend money on this game… I would totally restart my whole journey if a better company came along and made a better version of the game
The problem is that if the player count is relatively stagnant, then you have to get more revenue per player to be a growing company. I thought it started getting bad when they introduced the best buddy system. They created a feature with a time restriction - you need 300 hearts but can only earn a certain number per day for a specific pokemon - and a way to pay to beat that restriction - poffin berries.
Actually you can get the same effect of a poffin by just repeatedly doing a pet, play, feed, and picture cycle every 30 minutes. It takes about two hours but its possible.
They paywall. That's the difference. Quality of gameplay used to be so much better. There's a reason player count stagnates and it's because Niantic doesn't focus on better experiences.. just paywalling what was always there before. That's Count's point, and it is sound.
@@vinaypingu no I'm just tired of these comments painting all the Pokémon Go UA-camrs as Niantic shills when I watch a bunch of them and have seen them all complain about Niantic for the better part of two years now in every other video. The only two who don't seem to say much negative consistently is BrandonTan and Trainer club and even they have made the occasional video. But I've watched consistently every major UA-camr trash Niantic consistently ever since the pandemic ended. What you are doing is just misinformation at this point

As a level 50 there’s nothing there for me. I would want to continue playing but the negativity towards the community ever since the raid nerf really gave me a bad taste in my mouth for Pokemon.
GO used to be about giving people a fun time, and making them WANT to spend money for more: how free-to-play should operate. Now it's about creating experiences exclusively for the ppl willing to shell out bucks, and trying to manipulate the rest of the community with FOMO and the obvious lack of advantage that will come from not paying to enter their endless monetized gates.
I stopped spending when I find out that they charged me for stuff I used to get for free (and I was regular spender). I stopped playing regurally since gigantamax battles. This is dumb and I am offended by how it works. So, GO is launched like once per week on my phone. I am also so behind with releses cause of it that I reallt don't care if I have new pokemon or not (and I used to be adamant about getting every new relese in GO). This was fun ride but I first I felt offended and now I simply don't care. Whole mushroom drama was just yet another story for me.
i know many players are quiet quitting they are taking their shiny pokemon out of go and once they got them all out they quit. in fact data suggests while whales are spending more there is less people playing the game.
Short answer: real Long answer: this really sucks and niantic has a long way to go before it’s fully good, it also just could use better management and probably more balances to revert and change.
Why did they limit remote raids? They have surely lost so much money and now we have to pay for everything! If Niantic was doing this nonsense for another franchise it would never work! I love Pokemon, not Niantic
Niantic needs to scale back their tickets. Big events, fine. Add ons to the big events, also fine. $1 or $2 comm day tickets, sure. Beyond that there really isn't the need to purchase. Now when they did the daily coin research for $5 I did jump on that because who doesn't need coins. There is a happy middle ground to make sure the players are getting an adequate bang for their buck and Niantic can get some actual money but Niantic has not found that balance yet.
Many people celebrating Merry Christmas will singing Christmas song as part of the festival celebration. Pokemon Go players will sing this song to Niantic modified from Money, Money, Money from ABBA when come to Christmas Day. Money, Money, Money, Must be greedy, In the Niantic's games. Ticket, Ticket, Ticket, Must be shiny, In the Niantic plans.
I barely play anymore. They want you wasting money on eggs that you’ll never hatch a shiny. My favorite part of pogo is pvp for me and it lags skips and it’s garbage now.
@@Polaroxide actually smart move .. I have two accounts but I’m a 2016 and the most money I ever I have spent been no more than 100 bucks thank god i didn’t went to spend more
Definitely feels like pay to win i don't remember when there was last time there was a wild shiny to grind for, I only get joy out of the game is taking gyms to gold
All great points and while I dont want to defend Niantic Id be willing to bet some of the problems are with Nintendo. We dont know what agreement they have with Niantic. What revenue split with them looks like. If we want Niantic to change we'll likely need to communicate that to Nintendo and that probably isnt happening as Nintendo doesnt listen its fanbase very well either.
After getting a new phone recently, I haven't put pogo on it. I don't really think I'll be putting on it. I really didn't play pogo much this past year. I missed about half the cd mons n moves. Didn't even play the cd weekend recently. I've been having more fun playing codm with all my friends who play it. I do remember a lot of free stuff that we used to get for free
i hate the amount of regionals or pokemon you can only get in city safaris. i dont have a lot of money to travel (and it is not very climate friendly) and the one time I was in hawaii it was an event so no regionals and a new one came out 2 weeks after I left . I'll never get that one. If only they put them in 7km eggs you get from people in those countries
Probably not what good would it do to kill their golden goos?, After Pokemon what's their next biggest franchise? Pikmin? NBA? Fucking Peridot? It's likely some a mixture of private agreements with Nintendo and an upper manager who is out of touch with the player base because Niantic doesn't have a good way to get feedback and the feedback they do get is so miniscule they don't think there is a problem.
I like all the events they have. But do they really have to have events every week. Lately they been having events over lapping each clothier. And bon barting us with events after event.
Couldn't agree more Count. It just feels like Niantic is disrespecting the player base more and more with each event. Takes all of the fun right out of the game and makes it's difficult to remain engaged.
I no longer pay for anything any more since they are going down hill with all the pay walls for everything like the gigantamax was a bust I never got the starters and making players completely restart buy repowering up all pokemon
Honestly I am enjoying the game of course its pay to win but I just like the collecting aspect and just catching Pokémon I have played this game way more this year the ever before but I hope it listens more to the community
Not really about to complete the dex for free don’t forget the regional Pokemon unless you’re rich and can travel around the world is some Pokemon that you just can’t get 🤷🏻♂️ Pokemon go has been not poor people friendly for the get-go 😓
Pocket is ass, go flip your coins for 10 minutes for 0.1% of a level. The game could be good but won’t be because they won’t ever make fun matchmaking systems. Pay to play is super expensive and f2p you might get a good deck or two. I bet I have more cards and wins than you and I still think this game is complete ass
I'm very anti-Niantic (I think they should just sub-contract the game and leave us alone), but I think its more incompetence, hubris, and lazyness then straight greed. They just don't have any ideas about how to monetize the game, its just spin The paywalling wheel: are we selling eggs, locking to tickets, or Fomo'ing raids?
Niantic is a prime example of why people across the world are really starting to despise Capitalism. Companies cans make money ands still do good to their customers and world around them. I believe that and I think if more companies do this it could be a positive for all. that being said ...I love this game and In the past I didn't mind the tickets and monetization. I love doing research and found them to be a good value. Now it's getting ridiculous. The new Wooloo ticket is ...$5...you got to be kidding me. Who cares about Wooloo? This ticket has no value. I've being very selective on my tickets lately. Not spending on crappy tickets. I agree with you about the bonuses... they should still be free.
I hardly even bother opening the game anymore lol it’s boring now… funny thing there’s still people I know who be spending crazy money on every events and I be telling them don’t do it , they just say they like enjoying it and call me stingy for not spending money lol😂
@@SS-or7mzit definitely feels that way.
@@erroneus00you're using woke wrong.

Spoofing mitigates Niantics BS
At this point, players who would otherwise quit may as well. I legitimately feel bad for trainers who continue sinking $10-20 monthly, or even hundreds per year, for incompetent game development. Nostalgia + the sunk cost fallacy is a heck of a drug. Niantic (very opaquely) hardly even enforces their own ToS at this point, lest they lose a paying whale.

It's not just Niantic. It does not feel like any game developer appreciates their player base anymore.
Marvel Rivals and Pokemon Pocket devs seem to care, for now.
I'm stuck on the special research "Whisper in the woods" because of Corsola. Also my friends list is pretty dead. I hope this game gets better. A pretty lackluster holiday event too. The pokemom were themed poorly and ofc too much monetization to unlock small events

Solid points as always. More cc needs to bring these issues to light rather than just making a side comment here and there. Im so glad you are not sponsored by Niantic because you say it like it is.
I've been playing since 2016. And I can relate to what you're saying. Niantic is they come in a money grabber.
Take my money
Please stop telling players they need 40 ppl to beat Gmax. It is like saying you need 20 ppl to beat 5 star raid. 40 is max people that can do it in one lobby. You could beat Gmax Toxtricity with 3 ppl with best counters. My group did it with 11 ppl and some of them have a wooloo in their party.
Ok and how about Gmax Gengar pal
@@honestfan420people beat it with 4 players.
Keldeo was paywalled years ago and it never got released again & so far Marshadow until it cycles back again just like Diancie.
Very well worded, I agree 100% and would love to see a valid rebuttal to this comment.

Long answer: this really sucks and niantic has a long way to go before it’s fully good, it also just could use better management and probably more balances to revert and change.
The paid tickets and the like wouldn’t be bad if the free to play experience wasn’t completely shafted. John Hanke needs to get slapped.
I’m sure they are trying to get the most money they can off people before it goes down
Many people celebrating Merry Christmas will singing Christmas song as part of the festival celebration.
Pokemon Go players will sing this song to Niantic modified from Money, Money, Money from ABBA when come to Christmas Day.
Money, Money, Money,
Must be greedy,
In the Niantic's games.
Ticket, Ticket, Ticket,
Must be shiny,
In the Niantic plans.
I barely play anymore. They want you wasting money on eggs that you’ll never hatch a shiny. My favorite part of pogo is pvp for me and it lags skips and it’s garbage now.
Glad I quit a year ago and just get to watch it burn now
Your loss 🤷
@@Polaroxide actually smart move .. I have two accounts but I’m a 2016 and the most money I ever I have spent been no more than 100 bucks thank god i didn’t went to spend more
So you spend your time wisely 😏
@ yes very wise
Definitely feels like pay to win i don't remember when there was last time there was a wild shiny to grind for, I only get joy out of the game is taking gyms to gold
All great points and while I dont want to defend Niantic Id be willing to bet some of the problems are with Nintendo. We dont know what agreement they have with Niantic. What revenue split with them looks like.
If we want Niantic to change we'll likely need to communicate that to Nintendo and that probably isnt happening as Nintendo doesnt listen its fanbase very well either.
considering the state of the mainline games and how bad things are at pokemon co I wouldnt be surprised
Only 1 super incubator bought
Welcome to every multi billion dollar company
Pogo ia dying and niantic knows that so they're grabbing as much as money thry can grab before it ends
i hate the amount of regionals or pokemon you can only get in city safaris. i dont have a lot of money to travel (and it is not very climate friendly) and the one time I was in hawaii it was an event so no regionals and a new one came out 2 weeks after I left . I'll never get that one. If only they put them in 7km eggs you get from people in those countries
They're purposefully killing the game just to blame the players for quitting due to their own greed & scummy tactics (Diabolical!!!)
I agree with the sentiment however there are too many pokemon go pay pigs. The game will never die because of the few mega whales
I don't think it's Niantic greed, but it's coming from Nintendo / Game Freak / The Pokemon Company making the calls for Pokemon Go's Money sink.
I like all the events they have. But do they really have to have events every week. Lately they been having events over lapping each clothier. And bon barting us with events after event.
Haha I go to a raid in-person and can't get 6 other people to join me using campfire, pokeraid, discord etc. Really kills it for me
Same Here
Ive played Pokemon my whole life.. this makes me so upset as a fan community leader and content creator
Couldn't agree more Count. It just feels like Niantic is disrespecting the player base more and more with each event. Takes all of the fun right out of the game and makes it's difficult to remain engaged.
We love u jinsula dont give up playing 😭
I no longer pay for anything any more since they are going down hill with all the pay walls for everything like the gigantamax was a bust I never got the starters and making players completely restart buy repowering up all pokemon
Honestly I am enjoying the game of course its pay to win but I just like the collecting aspect and just catching Pokémon I have played this game way more this year the ever before but I hope it listens more to the community
Not really about to complete the dex for free don’t forget the regional Pokemon unless you’re rich and can travel around the world is some Pokemon that you just can’t get 🤷🏻♂️ Pokemon go has been not poor people friendly for the get-go 😓
Giganti max is ok. Just look at those people at meet up...like old days. Playing with old n new is awsome
I'll be honest I haven't played Go since Pocket came out. I'm having way more fun playing that. And I'm not required to leave my house.
@stevecan420 cool
@@stevecan420 totally agree with you, pocket is just trash
We need more (better) rewards... as you said niantic doesnt get the IP. The best buddy and xl candy are there ....
I agree with you about the bonuses... they should still be free.
they need to keep this 2 raids for free for ever
I hardly even bother opening the game anymore lol it’s boring now… funny thing there’s still people I know who be spending crazy money on every events and I be telling them don’t do it , they just say they like enjoying it and call me stingy for not spending money lol😂
