I was thinking of the first one as well. But I feel like X should be no less than 5. If it was 4, you could play it on turn 6 by itself and it would Hulk Out already, which would make it very flexible.

I was never hyped for this card but now it's out it might be a candidate for the worst release they've ever done, maybe OG Snowguard beats it but it's CLOSE Series 5 release with mediocre caches, only remotely playable in one deck that's mid-tier at best rn and it's not even good in that deck. But what really kills it stone cold dead is there's not even any room for experimentation here the effect just isn't going to work in most games there's no synergy or deckbuilding that can mitigate that beyond what High Evo builds are already failing to do. Might be a fun card for draft mode but that's all I got. What I'm worried about now is this card has been released like this because they were scared it would be too good with an alternate design, and since the team is on break that dial's not going to be turned until it's out of the caches and that's going to cause a stink again....so on top of all the other issues it's also another release that highlights the flaws in Snap's economy lol.
Bruce Banner being one of the cards of Marvel Snap is really funny to me because of the fact that Hulk, his alter ego and a card introduced much earlier is significantly preferred
I think we all know Bruce was suppose to be the 1 new series 4 card that we USED to get right until they changed it to every new card starts as a series 5 (last card released as series 4 was Miek I believe). Since cards are designed way in advance of release, its still easy to spot the ones meant for the lower series. I guess these overpriced series 4s sort of serve the same purpose, since instead of maybe sniping a new card for 3k tokens now its just an easy skip. Or SD will wait until the last day of the week and give Bruce an insane buff in order to sell the card or even better, it'll get buffed right after the spotlight ends so you either have to use tokens on it or wait 9+ mos for it to return in a spotlight. Oh SNAP, you never fail to disappoint but at least you're consistent (in that one thing).
He should have played like he apparently plays in Rivals where he becomes a weaker Hulk and then the strongest form. Have had like a 66-75% chance to become a new 2/6-7 then have the 25% for that to become the regular 12 power.
there's also an unused "banner hulk" art that you can see in the thumbnail (that regis colored red) that could be used for that weaker hulk. i really like this idea
I was surpsigingly lucky, but quickly realized that in a high evo Deck replacing him with the proper hulk and his energy buff from floating energy makes him so much more worth it
I think the simplest way to fix this card is to make it “for each unspent energy this card has a 25% chance to hulk out” which means with 4 unspent energy in a turn Bruce has a 100% chance to hulks out making the card still cost 6 net energy.
The transform chance needs to change. It could increase with every turn energy is floated, so if you temp him in Turn 2, then float every round after it should be guaranteed on the final turn. It requires both luck and sacrificing every turn. Or have the chance change based on the total energy floated. 10% for every energy floated, for a 100% chance if you float a total of 10 energy. Yes, having ways to ensure a 2/12 is strong but there are counters and it is not a 2/12 by the time all the energy is floated.
They should make the chance on a weighted scale or straight up 50:50. 25% is like critical chance on an RPG, which is not reliable, even more in a card game with limited 6 turn.
If you play Bruce at 2, and float 4 times There is 68.36% for it to happened at least once across 4 instances. But does it worth it to get 2/12 by floating every turn? (it also stops you to play 6 cost card at 6 and losing tempo on 3, 4, 5), and there is still 31% chance that it still a 2/1
I can see them changing the % chance. What % does it even feel playable? 50%, 75%, full 100%. I think 100% is too good, 2 energy spent + 1 float for 12 power, maybe 50% would work?
How do you think something along the lines of an enrage mechanic for bruce? Like every unspent energy converts into rage. When filled it would make him hulk out for a little more control and value!
Rework idea: make it a one cost that transforms if destroyed. Thematically relevant to Bruce/Hulk, and also a unique tech perhaps. Bit OP though possibly
either improve the chance as others might say such as for each unspent energy the chance increases or my idea is to have him hulk out into a different hulk that has the ability to hulk out even further such as from bruce to hero hulk to monster hulk, like in marvel rivals but maybe with a higher chance to hulk out with each passing turn.
What if each turn it passes with unspend energy, it gets a higher chance? First 25% then 50, 75 and then 100%? If that is to high a chance make it 20% jumps
“Took spotlight caches and turn them into a card” That's a little misleading to say. Spotlights are 1/4 chance to get what you want. Bruce Banner is 1/4 chance to turn to hulk EVERY round. That's basically having 4 keys already. I got him and he's been really good in my games.
With all the negative press on this card, it’s an auto pickup because second dinner will just rework it to make it meta defining and then never put it in a spotlight cache again.
Honestly i feel there is only 2 ways to keep the core idea of the card without it being so annoying and rng 1) has 25% chance to transform into hulk for each unspent energy this turn (so 100% if you floated 4 energy) 2) end of game : if you have floated a total of X (i feel like 6 is a good number) energy this game transform into hulk
It's going to be hilarious when all of us save resources and then SD buffs him so much that all content creators put him in every deck (e.g., Hydra Bob) and we're screwed for not squandering resources on a current lemon.
i think a good trigger for the card would be if any of your cards are destroyed by your opponent, he hulks out, as if he gets mad that they "killed" your card
like theres no many cards that focus on destroying opponents cards, so it wont be meta breaking, but adds a sense of risk when someone is running a card like gambit (unless they get the exodia set-u)
Wouldn't it be better for Bruce Banner to have a text like "Once you have a total of 6 unspent energy transform me into Hulk" or something similar. This will eliminate the rng aspect of the card.
Stay tuned for the next New card idea from second dinner: "each turn you lose a spot light key, but get a 5% Chance to transform into a better card" XD
What if he starts at a 2/2 and gets +2 power after each turn you end with unspent energy. Once he hits 2/10 he could transform into Hulk. It could create great synergy with the Sunspot. Idk it's just so frustrating to watch Bruce not transform.
Why not make it like .25 per energy floated? Or even lower the percent if that’s somehow busted. Would allow for more thought out game plans while also playing to the lore better anyways
A series 5 card transforms into a series 1 card, and everyone prefers the series 1 card lmaooo

I mean, for a low CL player, High Evo actually is a decent pull. You can make a deck for him almost entirely out of cards that are in series 3 or below
Merry Christmas Regis ❤
New Bruce: 1/0 On reveal: this location becomes gamma lab.
Should’ve made it some sort of activate card instead of a chance
I just landed high evolutionary with my 2 spotlight keys, along with hydra bob, very satisfied x) not sad at all I missed out on bruce
I am hulking out
They should make the chance on a weighted scale or straight up 50:50. 25% is like critical chance on an RPG, which is not reliable, even more in a card game with limited 6 turn.
If you play Bruce at 2, and float 4 times
There is 68.36% for it to happened at least once across 4 instances.
Start 25% and gains +25% each turn.
How do you think something along the lines of an enrage mechanic for bruce? Like every unspent energy converts into rage. When filled it would make him hulk out for a little more control and value!
He should get a rework where the chance to huld out is 25% for each energy unconsumed (100% if skip on 4)
What if Bruce was instead 'I have a 25% chance to Hulk out for each unspent energy you have at the end of the round'?
Rework idea: make it a one cost that transforms if destroyed. Thematically relevant to Bruce/Hulk, and also a unique tech perhaps. Bit OP though possibly
The problem is you have roughly a 32% (81/256) chance of not transforming at all on a 6 turn game with excess energy every turn from 3 to 6
either improve the chance as others might say such as for each unspent energy the chance increases or my idea is to have him hulk out into a different hulk that has the ability to hulk out even further such as from bruce to hero hulk to monster hulk, like in marvel rivals but maybe with a higher chance to hulk out with each passing turn.
Not using the Rivals voiceline when he transforms is a real shame.
What if each turn it passes with unspend energy, it gets a higher chance?
First 25% then 50, 75 and then 100%?
If that is to high a chance make it 20% jumps
Would it be too busted if they just removed the energy restriction part? Just make it 25% chance to hulk out at the end of each turn?
love how they are making a Thunderbolt ross card that opposes the design of this "stellar' card, if only this one could have released into s3
“Took spotlight caches and turn them into a card”
That's a little misleading to say. Spotlights are 1/4 chance to get what you want. Bruce Banner is 1/4 chance to turn to hulk EVERY round. That's basically having 4 keys already. I got him and he's been really good in my games.
I'm a Bruce main in Rivals so I gotta represent by getting this card, but I do hope he gets reworked lol
Bruce Banner is in fact One of The Cards ever put into Marvel Snap
With all the negative press on this card, it’s an auto pickup because second dinner will just rework it to make it meta defining and then never put it in a spotlight cache again.
Also funny, “Bruce is bad on 2 or 3, but he’s worse late.”
Guess the real question is, is he good on 4?
love you man...
just that..
keep it up. 🙂
It would be cool if you had to float 4 energy instead of random chance with Bruce. 4 energy because then it's a 6 cost hulk
No idea why his ability isn’t based on getting him angry. So if someone applies negative energy to him then he transforms?
There should be like, an item card or something that makes all high evo effects go off twice. That would be ridiculous but damn would it be fun!
Honestly i feel there is only 2 ways to keep the core idea of the card without it being so annoying and rng
1) has 25% chance to transform into hulk for each unspent energy this turn (so 100% if you floated 4 energy)
2) end of game : if you have floated a total of X (i feel like 6 is a good number) energy this game transform into hulk
One of the cards of all time
Any chance you would ever make a meme deck that’s OOPS all hulks?
It's on my schedule for Saturday if the games go okay.
There aren't quite enough "hulks", so I have Drax and Gamora filling in haha.
I dont have luna and cull what’s of card can i exchange?
It's going to be hilarious when all of us save resources and then SD buffs him so much that all content creators put him in every deck (e.g., Hydra Bob) and we're screwed for not squandering resources on a current lemon.
I like the idea of RNG cards but we'll need some support cards that boost the percentile.
i think a good trigger for the card would be if any of your cards are destroyed by your opponent, he hulks out, as if he gets mad that they "killed" your card
How could you build a deck around that?
like theres no many cards that focus on destroying opponents cards, so it wont be meta breaking, but adds a sense of risk when someone is running a card like gambit (unless they get the exodia set-u)
I predict a Doom 2099 nerf and Bruce Banner buff at the beginning of the next season. Probably bring him up a 1/3 chance
BRUCE WHO IS BRUCE ? (Pokimane voice)
17:33 was painful cause he could've just played bruce and still float enough energy to do she-hulk, hulk AND float 1 energy
Press "X" to doubt😂
What if he starts at a 2/2 and gets +2 power after each turn you end with unspent energy. Once he hits 2/10 he could transform into Hulk. It could create great synergy with the Sunspot. Idk it's just so frustrating to watch Bruce not transform.
What if they change 1/4 to 1/3 the chances to turn into Hulk, would that be a good card?
Why not make it like .25 per energy floated? Or even lower the percent if that’s somehow busted. Would allow for more thought out game plans while also playing to the lore better anyways
i regret everything getting him. as soon as i saw him i knew he was gonna be a bad card but i had the tokens
This card sucks so bad that I cheer and use the "hulk" emote when it goes off for my opponent in celebration. 😂
I cant believe Regis got 30m of content out of BB
BRUCE Banner needs to be an 1 -1. Not sure why marvel snap team didn't see that...
Even without the unspent energy restricton the card would still be pretty bad
Maybe a 1/1 50% chance sees some play, sometimes, very rarely. As like a meme. That's how far this card is from being good.
You can run it with skaar, sub out Luna or cull obsidian
If it was 25% for each unspent energy on a 1/1 it'd still be a big poop boy
