For 2025 I’m looking forward to getting a bunch of the Wolfpack Beastmaster CMF. I’m interested in the new Creator 3-in-1 Medieval Knight Castle. Can’t wait to put in my order for Adventures in Transylvania!!! I’ll be buying PAB weekly, like usual. Got my Medieval Fantasy Village to keep on building, working on a Granary, Bakery and some Boats in a Caravel style. Plus I’ve got to hit up the local brick stores and see what they’ve got! Looking forward to what you’ve got for the year to come. Keep up the good work!
@@MichaeldeSousaCruz Well, that's how Lego started 🙂 Iirc Funwhole has 6 or 7 medieval sets out now, so there's pretty good variety, but no actual castle yet.
@ I just checked them out. They look good. Look, I build only one thing, a Medieval Fantasy Village. The design is based off the Ideas Medieval Blacksmith. I’m content with what I’m building and the style I’m building in. I’m just going to stick with that and with Lego. I’ve actually been thinking of uploading pictures of my builds, here on UA-cam. They’re nothing spectacular. But I like them. I’m also coming up with an idea of something to do too, but I have to think about it more.
Thank you both for the awesome content this year, and I look forward to your content in 2025! I appreciate that you discuss rumored releases/potential upcoming sets as I plan my LEGO purchases.
Colin and Julia! I really enjoy these videos with both of you (Alex and Mindy Nunes do "co-hosts" thing periodically -- like Mindy I think Julia brings an added "spark"). While I'm excited about Lego 2025 -- adding Tudor (I have all modulars after first three), Blacktron (I only have recent GWP), Bag End (I have original + most first wave of Hobbit/LotR). I'm upset how Lego is using FOMO and manipulative marketing with GWPs that are paired with major set (I ordered The Endurance 4am first chance I got after my ER shift and already out-of-stock -- four hours after became available!). Also: in last 6 months I discovered Pantasy and FunWhole and see their designs as original, fresh, sharp -- with FunWhole light kits incuded, all prints/no stickers and about 30% less than comparable Lego set.
Well said. Lego's pricing and fan-unfriendly practices have cast a shadow over the good will they generated with me for decades. That said, I'll most likely get the modular and possibly Bag End. But the real excitement is the stuff coming out from Funwhole and Pantasy. They're running circles around Lego in so many regards.
@@SO-ym3zs "Well said" yourself...in fact, you really captured the issue: carefully nurtured fan good will is quickly eroding (it isn't just me or you -- there's something happening and Lego likely is in denial). Since mid-2024 50% of my quite substantial brick hobby budget has moved to Pantasy and Funwhole.
@OutpostMJ Same boat: I still buy Lego but am more selective than ever. Competing brands went from a back-burner supplement to the bulk of the hobby for me. I get better or more interesting sets cheaper and/or don't feel like I'm being jerked around by coldly calculating corporate accountants and marketers (and their UA-cam proxies). It's a relief and has made the hobby fun again. And it also opens up so many thematic and subject options just not available from Lego.
I'm curious if there's a reason why you expect the Tudor GwP to hover around $20-$25? I sold my Endurance GwP for $95 two days after it came out. I think GwPs that are exclusive to specific sets always fetch more than GwPs that are given out to any purchase over X amount (eg. the current "Lucky Knots" GwP that comes with purchases over $150). Was there something special about the Endurance GwP? Did Lego produce significantly less of those GwPs than the Endurance GwP? Thanks for the intel! Great video!
It's really sad that we even have to talk about shoehorning LOTR sets into a castle/medieval collection. I love both, but the fact is Lego keeps feeding us little drips and drabs for both themes but refuses to go all in (or even half in). Thank goodness Funwhole and BlueBrixx _have_ gone all in, with a ton of medieval sets to choose from. Now, Funwhole just needs to make a big castle set. With their lighting, it'll be amazing, and then we won't even need to worry about what Lego is releasing in the theme anymore.
I disagree about the Tudor Corner going on sale. I think by next year or the year after, it will go on sale. The Hotel had a significant sale last prime day. $160 from $230.
I feel like ships are easy since Lego doesn't really have to commit. I can easily see one a year for a while. Esspically different factions. COME ONE ICE PLANET! It cracks me up as a D&D nerd when Lego fans talk about it. D&D is perfect with lego since you make up your own story. None of those characters in that set have any IP like Harry Potter or Star Wars. It feels the most like old school lego. Here is a toy, make up the rest. I really hope we get a whole theme of D&D, at the very least more castle parts. I love LotR, but lego caste is it's own flavor. I can see how people use LotR with theirs, but not the same. Time will tell, I do think Lego doesn't want to give too much castle to keep Fomo up. Easy to justify a $500 set if only get it once every few years.
As someone who grew up with the Yellow Castle and has the Lion Knights' Castle on display next to him, it's really sad how Lego has mishandled the castle/medieval theme and only half-heartedly indulged fans. I'm so glad Funwhole and other manufacturers have stepped in to to fill the gap. Actually, I wonder if Lego understands how many people they've driven to Funwhole and BlueBrixx just because they wanted their castle/medieval fix and Lego won't really provide it.

You should check out Funwhole's medieval sets to flesh out your village. They're really good.
@ thanks, I’ll check out what they got. Talent borrows, Genius steals…

Bagged the Tudor x 2 in Australia. Can't wait

Bag end is not castle but I think it will go well with my fantasy castle world I am creating and collecting 😊

I love the DND minifigs for exactly that reason!

Btw, your BUILDINGTOGETHE code is $20 off, not 20% off :(
