    What made Michael and Scottie so great for that second 3-peat was the almost automatic reliance on Dennis being under the basket. Those two didn't have to dominate teams by themselves anymore, they knew, with Dennis always being there for a defensive or offensive rebound.
    Younger men can push harder for longer, older MJ and Scottie, knew they didn't have to do it all because Dennis would always be there, picking up the loose ball.
    That's what made Dennis so vital to that 96-98 run.

      He would have been super star. The first year he was without Jordan, he was third in mvp voting behind Hakeem and DRob with 7 first place votes. And was ahead of Shaq and Ewing. This is the help that Jordan got, that’s why he isn’t the GOAT. The man sitting next to Pippen was third team all nba, first team all defense twice in 95-96.

      Utah didn’t make the finals again so Scottie made too big of a deal about their age. Yes, Utah was older and as a result the Bulls would have faced the Spurs in the 1999 Finals.
      Portland had a really good team without Pippen in 1999 so maybe it’s Portland that makes the 2000 Finals, or maybe the Lakers but Kurt Rambis would have been coaching in LA if Phil stayed in Chicago.

    After watching the last dance only confirmed that these interviews sheds a light about how these legends were deeply unsatisfied about how their dynasty ended. MJ, Scottie and Dennis, every time they get asked the same question about the what ifs, just validates the emptiness in their hearts. They always pause for few seconds and then .. yea it was great. But you get the sense that they wanted to do more and who wouldn’t? If you were a dominant squad you would wanna continue to see your limit. They could’ve easily went on through the 2000 perhaps battled against Kobe and Shaq. Robinson, Drexler and Olajuwon would probably be ringless ‘til they retired.

      Well Jordan established his role as the captain out there and they played the offense for how many years together. And honestly the last 3 years of championship runs, it was all because of their work ethic and dedication. And We all know rodman can always give problems to shaq, scottie can always guard kobe, especially on that time where kobe was still shooting lesser percentage shots. Kobe got on his prime when shaq left. But Lakers 2000, 2001 do very much have a chance of beating the bulls with Phil as their head coach. Even Spurs that time with the big 3 had a chance

      Event Horizon you think a bulls team with a 37 year old Jordan was stopping that team? You’re insane
      edit: Rodman would’ve been 38-39 in 2000 also. Shaq would’ve eaten him alive. Did you forget a young Orlando shaq had already eliminated Jordan in the playoffs before? I know he’d just come back but you think 5-6 years and 3 titles later he still had it in him to stop him? No chance

    I studied Dennis Rodman a lot during my junior year in hs. I needed a way to stay on the court during the game so I worked on my rebounding and help side defense. My rebounds went from 3 rebs a game junior to 7 my senior year at 6 feet tall. With 5 points and 4 assists a game. Rebounding can change your confidence during a game. Hard to explain.

      What tips do you got for rebounding?

    • @datawolf2318
      @datawolf2318 4 роки тому +49

      @@purestformofpeace
      1. Try to position yourself opposite of the shot and apply basic fundamentals. If the shot is long the rebound is going to be long. If it's a layup your help side defense will position you into the boxout for the rebound. As the shot goes up look to boxout first then go for the rebound.
      2. Don't stay in the same spot move even if its in small spaces you don't want to get sealed for a boxout fully. If your in movement its harder to position you for a controlled boxout and that will allow you to tip some rebounds with a free hand.
      3. Get creative. Going up against taller players I would try to the get the drop on them first by jumping before they could and tip the ball away from them or roll it off the backboard.

      Not sure how old you are, or if you got to witness Rodman play live back in the day, but coming from someone who was fortunate enough to watch his career through and through...you most definitly picked the right player to study for improvement on some defensive repertoire! 👍

      I would also add that if you make an effort to watch the flight of the ball while "boxing out", you can learn to anticipate/predict the direction of the rebound. Rebounding for somebody who is working on their shot is a good way to practice this. Of course it's not perfect science but may help you get a step on the other guys.
