      Maybe if Maye shows that he can reliably lead the team into the playoffs.

      No one wants to play in the worst sports media market.
      Massachusetts. Sports Media is the most negative sports media in the country.
      Players want to play in areas where their egos are stroked and not have a Pasty. White PatDudee nitpick everything they do and say..

    You are 100% right Colby! That’s absolutely BS when people say “Nobody will want to play for the Pats”Drake Maye is the reason ALONE players will want to play for the Pats! Having a QB who’s a leader/competitor who wants to win & what he’s doing as a rookie is really impressive/encouraging. The future is definitely bright & Pats Nation should be really excited. I definitely know I am❤️💙

    Hopefully your right, I don’t mind if we aren’t great next year but the most cap space, plenty of picks and uprgraded facilities, it really shouldn’t be that hard at least improve the 7 wins next year

    I hope things change because I am literally having a hard time getting people to go with me to the games. Everyone is spoiled around here. I love going to the games, but people aren’t excited to pay $200 or more to watch this team. I love the whole tailgate experience & being at the game in person. There was never a guarantee of a win. Having Tom Brady for 20 years of dominance has changed the attitude of people in this region.

    It’s good that the patriots are working on their facility to attract players to come here. We also have a stud at QB and enough cap space to throw a bag at multiple players. But the real question is on the coaching. When it comes to Dan Campbell he is very passionate coach and always fired up which a lot of players love the energy he brings. But when it comes to Jerod Mayo we still haven’t built that new identity in NE yet. He is always very posed on the sideline, which BB is always did throughout his whole career. Showed no emotion during the good and bad, even when it comes to the media he was always transparent which I liked because it was always a mystery in NE. I feel like that’s what Jerod Mayo needs to do when it comes to the media. But I’d also love to see him be more passionate on the sidelines to fire up the players. But then again it is year one for him as a rookie coach, it’s trial and error at the end of it. But give it time, I know by year three we will be back on coarse. We just gotta land some solid FA and draft picks, then fix the defensive coaching as well. Because at the end of the day personality makes a big difference during football. There is no “I” in team, everyone has to work together and perform their assignments on both sides of the ball. I believe it was during either week 5-6 that a player was staying that some players weren’t performing their assignments and that they would do whatever they wanted. That goes from on the field and off of it. Because Jalynn Polk who is a second round pick who isn’t eating properly and not going to bed on time can most definitely set the outcome on how well you play during a game the very next day. Players need to be starting to be held accountable towards their actions. Sometimes you do need coaches to yell in your face in order to get into their heads and treat them like children. I am not saying all players need that treatment, but the younger ones most definitely do if they keep on doing shenanigans like this.

    Free agency priorities
    1. Wr Higgins 4yr deal or Godwin 3yr deal
    2. Edge josh sweat 4yr deal
    3. Guard Trey smith 4yr deal
    4. LT Stanley 2yr deal
    5. CB davis 2-3yr deal
    That's what I would do for free agency

  • @JohnMalerba
    @JohnMalerba 11 днів тому

    It has nothing to do with the patriots. It is the additional 4 percent surtax that Massachusetts put on income over one million. This will make a hudge difference when a free agent decides say for example, the patriots or jaquars.

    Its a defensive draft this year. Fix the offence in free agency, overpaying if we have to, and then look at the D in the draft.

    Free agents want to be paid$$. Drake Maye will naturally attract skilled offensive players. They will need to convince some defensive free agents to come to Foxboro.

    Colby, I'm going to have to disagree on the "Patriots have no receivers" statement. Truthfully, the Patriots don't actually know what they have at wide receiver, because of how bad the offensive line is. Outside of Kendrick Bourne, the pats have a young WR corps: 2nd year men Boutte and Douglass and rookies Polk and Baker. I agree that Drake Maye is an exciting young player and will help the team attract free agents. Knowing who the quarterback is matters to free agents. However, the tax situation in Massachusetts (aka taxachusetts) could negatively impact the Pats in free agency. Remember Calvin Rodley and DeAndre Hopkins both took less money to play in Tennessee (no income taxes there).

  • @davidmoney7154
    @davidmoney7154 11 днів тому

    The Millionaire tax is still a obstacle with players agents. It is exclusive to MA.
    The Kraft's are going to need to get creative with endorsements and other type of money incentives They simply can't afford to constantly overpay for FA.
    Bill never had to deal with the MA " millionaire tax" as it is fairly new.
