    Lars, I am very new to Fusion 360, but not "drafting", some 50 years ago I taught drafting with a T Square, Triangles, Paper and Pencils and later with AutoCAD. I have been watching you on UA-cam form the first Fusion 360 Absolute Beginners. As an instructor and engineer, I was blown away with the knowledge and style you have by delivering the absolute best educational instruction for beginners as well seasoned designers.Its a pleasure to turn on UA-cam to learn from the best.

    Lars I dont know how old this is, but these are excellent. I have learned more about CAD in watching 4 of your videos than I have in my entire life. Thank you for taking the time to explain the steps for us beginners.

    Lars, I went from knowing NOTHING about cad in general and with your help with this series of videos I have started making some of my own basic parts that I am beginning to print. I sincerely thank you for offering such a honest simplistic perspective on designing basic objects.

    The advanced information is easy enough to find... I watched Autodesk training sessions for two days and didn't get anything to work until I stumbled across your beginner set with the electrical box. This basic info is really hard to find, so I hope you continue to make it available.

I have been using Autocad for some time drawing 2D - I am certain pretty clumsily but I get where I need to go. 3D is of course another level and I concur with Warren - it is not so easy to find a good guide to break the initial barrier. Dear Lars Thank you so much for doing this and your time again and again. I got a question. I did the tutorial but I did something different: at the fist triangle I cut the corners as you did as well as the bottom corner that got cut with a circle. But then I wanted to extrude the sides and did an offset line from any of the edges offsetting it -2mm. at ther end that line did not touch with the rounded line so I could not extrude the sides. I know I could go backwards and all. But is there a way that I can offset a line and then resize it to fit or intersect another line? I tried without success. Many thanks Belen

    Lars, You often mention that it's best to think about how the object might be manufactured as you're deciding on the sequence of operations to create it in Fusion, e.g. drill holes, cut something away, add parts, etc.. I'm wondering if the sequence might be different, that you might take a different approach, if the intention is to 3D print the part rather than have it made with the normal manufacturing processes. Do you have any insights on that?

    • @cadcamstuff
      @cadcamstuff  6 років тому +1

      Hi Roger Garrett Thank you for watching!
      I have to make sure that I am clear that this is just my two cents. My experience is that it is easy to get overwhelmed when trying to model something because there are so many features. I'm just trying to share a way that has helped me. If you had to cut the part out of a bar of soap and you only had a knife...That is a starting point.
      As a user get more experience, they can start using fancy commands and will to find it easier to make their model.

    Hi Lars, your videos are great. I'm wondering when we are onto the holes on the vertical walls, is there a way to mirror down the centre line of the base plate (from tip to the midpoint on the hypotenuse) to save having to do two separate sketches? Or can you only mirror on the Z, X and Y axis?

    When you just drag and move blue-lined items around (like at around 58 minutes) I can't do it. If I hold it brings up a small menu. If I just click and drag it starts making a selection box as if nothing was there? Any ideas?

    Drew a milled slot using 2 circles and 2 lines constrained as tangent. Can't cut it out as when I go to select it, the select leaches into to several surrounding features. Sort of like a fill on a drawing program goes out of a defined area and you can't figure out why cause the lines and area are closed.

    hi Lars, I dont know if you'll respond to a question on a video this old but how would you go about fixing the back relief area's fillets? Specifically the ones that touch the cut corner and them making that angle in the walls.

    Couple issues I am having, One when I choose line, it does not go to the flat plane like yours does. And at 31:20 I cannot seem to get the relationship to click and start that line. Unless I rotate the part some. Then it is off. And does not turn black.
