Once in a millennium player, Best had otherworldly skill that cannot be taught. At a basic level he had an extreme mixture of will, psychology, nano timing and complete awareness of time and space.
George Best You are a Fantastic Football player You are the Best George Best Good bye the Belfast boy World legend Maradona Cruyff Pele George Best is the Best
One of the greatest dribblers indeed buddy. To my eyes. The most aesthetic, balletic, dribbler. Did it on horrible surfaces & when defenders kicked lumps out of the great players back then Imagine how he'd play in the modern game on these carpet pitches, with zero contact rules. Messi & Mbappé play on? And yes. A super R9 vid is on its way. Another breathtaking dribbler.
@@johnpacino007I did not see Best play in real life but my father was a huge George Best fan .He lived in Manchester when Best was in his prime .He used to go to watch all Manchester United matches live . .I started watching football in the mid 80s if I say precisely, from 1986 world cup onwards . Maradona was the hero at that world cup and like every kid I too became a Maradona fan .Who are your top 10 favourite players .here's mine 1. @@similaur3845 Great comments Interesting that you've got Messi fourth in your T10 from 1986 to 2022 Why you only put him 4th? I don't have a T10 list as such But on all round completeness: Dribbling, passing, heading, two footed usage to pass, dribble, shoot. Tackling- tracking back - defensive coverings/ playing multi positions, during games. From midfield, attack, tracking back. In chronological order ( by order of who played the earliest ): Di Stéfano Pelé Beckenbauer Best Cruyff Would be my picks. As they had *_everything_* , i just mentioned. Just complete players.
This is how I always felt on the playground. I could dance around anyone at anytime. I never played organized soccer until my jr year in 2009. Walked on and made Varsity team captain. Went All conference 2 years in a row and walked away from a scholarship to pursue a 6 figure signing bonus as a nuke MM in the Navy. As I sit here watching his 30 for 30 I see myself. Especially with the drinking issues and personality traits. Def wish I had taken the scholarship I'll tell you that
At that time, best and pele were the best dribblers in tight spaces. George best zig zag dribbling was poetry in motion, in modern time, kavaratsckhelia is the closest to best.
