- Rare TV Live Performance
Whitney Houston performs the Song "All at once" live at "Music Land", to promote her Debut Album in Europe, in June 1985
Let's be honest.... there can NEVER be another voice like that. Whitney was such an outstanding singer and artist. I am happy and proud I was there to witness her great talent. Be happy Whitney... wherever you are now.
Absolutely 100% agreed!!!
Withney tinha uma voz muito linda que pena que ela foi tão nova
NEVER❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
This performance is simply stunning. Nobody had the control she had from whisper quiet to belting. My all time favorite vocalist.
Mariah Carey CAN do that as well! Its a piece of cake for her
@@merayahcarey9390 Mariah is good but Whitney is the GOAT!
@@stoneysixstring Mariah is the best singer of all time! Whitney is great although she can't write & produce songs like Mariah
Merayah Carey Sure she can’t write as well as Mariah but she is the GOAT of singing and no one compares.
Merayah Carey honey I’m a Mariah fan too...but Whitney’s belts are far superior.
Whitney Houston at 21 years old. 100% live with a studio band for live TV airing. No autotune, no back-up singers. She was so nervous but she was also very brave.
No hundreds of millions of dollars. No awards. No #1 hits. No houses and lots. No cars. No millions of fans around the world.
She had nothing -- but her mind, heart, and guts. Didn't she almost have it all? :-)
I don’t think she is nervous.
She was totally nervous. You can see it in her face at the beginning and also hear it in her voice right at the beginning for a short moment
@@laracroft5351 I agree. I have seen practically ALL live performances of Whitney Houston ever recorded and made public. I can tell that she was very nervous during this performance -- but being the Greatest Voice of All, she magnificently surmounted her nerves to deliver a stellar rendition of this beautiful ballad.
@@trishakhalid891 she’s nervous here. At that time, aside from singing at church or as a background singer; most of her public performances were with her mother on stage or nearby. She has to work up her nerve here.
@@kimariokiji
No
Her falsetto is the most iconic ever
head voice.
I love this performance. Live, she just added so much soul to her singing. That's why it eclipses the studio recording. The part between 1:52 and 2:14 is something no other singer, as great as they might be, will ever give you. Hauntingly beautiful.
I don't know how, but almost everytime I listen to Whitney singing a ballad she makes me cry. There are many good singers today, but no one's voice can make me so much emotional like Whitney's does.
yaaaas! I think it's because the emotion she exudes is real. not contrived. not just a listen. she's a watch and feel too. Live she is in a league of her own..
@@JBeliles I agree, she shows the emotion of the song through her voice but also facial expressions and gesticulation. We are so lucky that we live in this era and get to listen to Whitney, the best singer ever on this planet.
I agree. I also cried when I first heard 'you're still my man'.
@@Cebo88 That is such an underrated song. She belted that song OUT.
@@JBelilesIGUAL A ELA MAO VAI EXISTI OUTRA ELA FOI A UNICA COM ESTA VOZ
"You were with another love" the way she sings that incredible
The finest female voice of my time. The tone, the control, the power. This woman could not sing a bad note. No one compares
Damn "she took your smile away" at 2:26 sounds like angel. Love u queen
She always sing BETTER than the studio version.
@@accountuser4525 Couldn't agree more.
GOD!! I thought the same!
Can we just take notice that she started this song a whole octave higher than usual 🤯. Just incredible!
There was no auto tune, advanced special inside a mic, Her voice is the special effect.. Purely amazingly natural from GOD
im in love with her 85-86 phrasing its so crisp and light. like clouds and her vibrato pierces you like a thunderbolt 😭 i love all of her stuff but something is so romantic about her here
The elegance, grace, feminity, emotion, mannerisms, facial expressions, hand gestures and of course the voice.
Things that women today loathe and find very degrading. It's so sad and pathetic.
@@skip031890 Actually its the role of the straight feminine woman being pushed on her by her family and society that killed her.
So much more dynamic and emotional than the comparatively stilted and formal (but near-perfect) studio recording!
One thing great about Whitney is even over 3 decades her songs never got boring because she had a million different ways of shading and colouring them to keep the fresh and interesting. A gifted voice, and a genius vocalist. R.I.P 💔
Not only the voice but the beauty. Miss you, Whitney.
She's so beautiful. I love how shes singing even higher than how she did on the actual song, Thank God for Whitney!!🎤🤍
She was such a perfectionist in her debut… when the occasion called for it. She could do it all.
Everybody loved Whitney. At times her struggles showed but at her best she was the very best
We were such fools back then. We thought Whitney was just the new normal for singers in the industry. That her enormous talent would be the new caliber of every recording artist moving forward. But no. There was no wave. It was just her. She was this rare thing of beauty, never to be equaled ever. And we were too naive to see we were witnessing the birth of a star. We waited for other equally-exceptional vocalists. But no others were forthcoming. Not ‘til Mariah in ‘91. And even then… Mariah never reached the same pinnacle of vocal greatness. No matter how high her notes went, or her riffs bellowed, she would always be seen as second to Whitney.
Very rare that the voice itself was so powerful enough on its own. The music instruments and sounds were just complimentary. What an extra ordinary vocalist she was. I am blown away. - again!
Tge best vocalist indeed boet. 🙏
I never thought Live would be better than Original sound. Her performance literally resonated with me.
i WISH A PROFESSIONAL VOCALIST COULD CRITIQUE THIS VERSION. i ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. EVERY TIME SHE SANG A SONG SHE MADE IT DIFFERENT. WHITNEY WAS A CRAFTSMAN TO HER ART. SHE WAS AN EXCELLENT STUDENT. HER TECHNIQUES WERE BEAUTIFUL AND STUNNING. SHE COULD JUST TOY AROUND WITH DIFFERENT SOUNDS. I ALWAYS LOVED HEARING HER SING ACCAPPELLA. MUSIC MADE HER WORK HARDER, ACCAPPELLA VOICE WAS THE INSTRUMENT.
✨ Once upon a time we had her right here with us 💫
What a voice truely unforgettable
this live version is absolutely superb. That voice is unique
Whitney singing softly is to have your soul caressed and when she belts it pierces your soul - such a great interpreter!
To those that still want to call her a lipsyncer, even in her death, this is clearly "LIVE" & also showing the beginning of her vocal abilities & talent at such a young age, which is mindblowing. So when She did lipsynch, it was to protect her voice from overuse! This is the beginning of Whitney vocal excellence. To see her live in concert during her prime was a true blessing!!
That Godly voice will never be forgotten..
it is sooo cute to see that whitney wasn't THE VOICE yet but great already cause 1985 you could not fake it
I love this version. Whitney was an Incredible Performer.
She's a legend
The early years ..so good..leading to what I considered her best voice period...89-93. of course she had many more years of iconic performances. but in that 3-4 year period I found she had shed the sometimes thin, girly voice into a fully matured mastered yet undamaged voice. I mean, "All the man" from heroes concert. that is the limit! I think it was in 91
I’d like to take this time to note the perspiration on this young woman’s face. Whitney here, in 1985, was no more than a child just starting out on a career that would become both legendary and tragic.
A child, but still sweating as she did in her later years. Which just proves that it’s a result of harsh stage lighting, straining her vocal muscles and perhaps a little bit of nerves. I’m sure the drugs contributed later on, but let it be known: the sweating Whitney is now infamous for is a result of this woman PUTTING IN WORK.
That is all.
Preach!
A bit of a backhanded compliment...her talent is unquestioned....
deALVIN DOPSON how is it a “backhanded compliment”?
@@ayyyce straining her vocal muscles...she is not straining at all in this performance....that's backhanded....when you give a compliment and the qualify it...that's what I mean...
deALVIN DOPSON okay, then you’re taking my comment out of context. I didn’t mean straining as in she’s struggling to hit the notes. I meant it as in, she’s exhausting her vocal muscles.
Saw a clip of this on Instagram and had to look it up on UA-cam 🥹🥹🥹🥹🎤🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️ my gosh she sounds amazing, almost brought tears to my eyes 🥹 I miss Whitney dearly
She was so young and fresh. This is a real classic live performance from her early days
her phrasing is just so brilliant. didn't know that those would also sound so damn good. really a genius. i miss you Whitney.
she's still so fresh here..so young
Her voice touches my soul. ❤️
Simply beautiful her voice heaven sent.
I firstly heard this song in my host parents house in melbourne in 1997.I didn't know that this song has already exist since 1985.Thank you for the song.
From the extraordinary singer , she turns onto THE VOICE DIVA
Wow! She was a magical gift to the universe. Incredible 💕
Whitney ❤️
I like the way she took time to finesse and caress this song, versus the overpowering approach! Very heartfelt!
The album version brings me to tears. Nostalgia!! I’m also glad for these live versions because it shows her vocal mastery 🔥🔥 she’s the BEST
You are such a beautiful man.
Oh my. I've always enjoyed this song!! But this..... I love it more now. This is the most sultry version I've ever heard! So comforting. What an amazing angelic voice! Miss you Nippy. Rest In Peace beautiful angel.
When she sang with the voicehead, it was not perfect, it is incredible how she improve her voice through years
Her voice here is the most beautiful voice.
She is from another planet!!!
Just incredible. What a talent she was so sad she’s not with us anymore
After her movie THE BODYGUARD I

I finally took a moment and I'm realizing ur not coming back he(Clive) took ur smile away 🎤🎧👀
Everytime i watch her singing this song i can’t help but to cry... rest in paradise whitney..
This was absolutely awesome! Such innocence and sweetness, yet the seeds of greatness were so evident even then. Such an emotional rendition. She truly was in class of her own.. ❤️ Judging by her emotional reaction at the end, she was more nervous than she appeared.
Ok for that one person who disliked. What's not to like about this performance ? Smh are your ears blocked.
Maybe those peoole mad because Whitney only sing for 4 minutes. She should've sung for 10 minutes or longer😅
It s racist people or just to provoke
Il fonico da sputargli in faccia 10 volte fino a quando gli spunti non diventano dispari...... la voce completamente in saturazione.... e nonostante tutto si adattata la cucciolina e ha fatto una super interpretazione!!!! Immensa Withney
Whitney's genius is her wonderful voice from low notes to high change looks effortless and her ability to add her own spin to the song. Hear the last few seconds, she gave a twist to the song in the whitney fashion, mischievous yet beautiful. Wished she stayed forever this way. She was great, not just good enough.
Missing You Whitney! 2022

AMAZING WHITNEY WOWWWW
All at once
I finally took a moment
And I'm realizing that
You're not coming back
And it finally hit me
All at once
All at once
I started counting teardrops
And at least a million fell
My eyes began to swell
And all my dreams were
Shattered all at once
Ever since I met you
You're the only love I've known
And I can't forget you
Though I must face it all alone
All at once
I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you'd come back to me
And that's all that matters now
All at once
I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Holding on to memories
And it hurts me more than you know
So much more than it shows
All at once
All at once
I looked around and found
That you were with another love
In someone else's arms
And all my dreams were shattered
All at once
All at once
The smile that used to greet me
Brightened someone else's day
She took your smile away
And left me with just memories
All at once
Ever since I met you
You're the only love I've known
And I can't forget you
Though I must face it all alone
All at once
I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you'd come back to me
And that's all the matters now
All at once
I'm drifting on a lonely-sea
Holding on to memories
And it hurts me more than you know
So much more than it shows
All at once
All at once
I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you'd come back to me
And it hurts me more than you know
So much more than it shows
All at once
And that's all the matters now
All at once
I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you'd come back to me
And it hurts me more than you know
All at once

Increíble voz. Increíble artista.
Listening while feeling of 💔… that’s sad… missing you Whitney Houston, sing effortlessly in heaven 🙏
Beautiful voice. Perfection.
One thing though, They dressed her like her mother and she was just a teenager.
...it’s the way she pronounces “dreams” for me. 🥰
Actually in this live version she says dreams just fine. But I know what you mean bc the album version is like wait what happened to dreams
@@idontknowmuch3441 nah I still hear it live it’s her jersey girl accent. It’s a tri state thing
