Absolute music. Nice to see a video that just has the music of the Merlin not some commentary or rubbish music over the top.
I will never EVER get tired of listening to the beautiful sound of the Merlin engine …and it will be a very sad day when these beautiful aircraft finally retired 😢 Thank you for posting
It would be a sin to allow these aircraft to ever be retired.
As a nation we have everything necessary to keep them maintained and flying.
The same goes for the other wartime aircraft, and I hope very soon to see two Lancaster bombers flying in our skies, when "Just Jane" finally is awarded airworthy status.
What a treat that would be!
Just sent my body all a tingle, why can just a combination of grace and noise do this to a grey hair like me!
that sound. Fantastic.
Thanks Harry the sound of these Merlin engines is fantastic.........cheers Barry
Nice flying
Was at Headcorn last year...great sounds.❤
Magnificent!
Ah, the Buchon sneaked in there but got taken out. Great video, on headphones, wonderful sound.
Yes the Buchon came in but was soon dispatched by the Spits.........really enjoy the sound of these aircraft........Cheers Barry
The Hurricane was definitely the Work Horse for the RAF... With many more kills to its name..... But the Spitfire is the Thoroughbred of the sky`s..... Both single engine fighters of very similar design...... But the Spitfire just has such Graceful lines..... Wonderful video Barry.... :-))
They had 3 Hurricanes at the show which im going to do a separate video of........the spitfires are always popular at these shows and it was good to see multiple aircraft rather than just one displaying............Cheers Barry
The facts tell a different story. The average kill to loss ratio was 5.5:1 for Hurricane squadrons but 7.5:1 for spitfire squadrons. the only reason they got more kills than the spitfire overall is because there were more of them. The Spitfire was constantly improved throughout the war but the Hurricane was almost at the limits of its possible development when it entered service.
@@mothmagic1 As I said... The Hurricane was the Work Horse, with More kills than the Spitfire... :-))
@@shirleyboy8859 but you are still ignoring my point. In all fairness you could say the Hurricane was obsolete by the time it entered service. It was certainly out of its depth against the 109 and fighter/fighter kills were down to luck and pilot skill rather than the ability of the aircraft
@@mothmagic1 Mmmmmm OK
There is truly nothing in the sky which sounds as great as a Rolls-Royce Merlin or Griffon at full chat.
It is the sound of our escape from Nazi tyranny.
