Only person I have ever herd call a house boat a boat house lol
😂😂😂 I was thinking the same thing!
Yip, Came to say the same thing., LOL
Try going out after dark. The crayfish come out of their hiding spots. If you are at a lake or pond they will crawl to the shoreline feeding about a foot deep. At dark they will also have reflective spots on them mainly at their pincher joints and are easy to see. I did this a bunch when I was much younger.
Thanks for the consistent uploads! Can’t get enough Fishermans Life

Ahhhh the butter. How can you miss that good good butter. I love your vlogs. Especially these ones..
great stuff, Sir. your enthusiasm is inspiring. you seem like a genuinely nice guy and I'm glad to see you can support your family doing what you love. keep on keepin on.
As a kid in the arm pit of California. We use to get a 5gallon bucket full and perge the crayfish. Boil them up and have a summer feast for the kings. Best memories ever. We used the top half of a fishing pole with a line and a rubber jig tipped with hotdogs. Very nice video thanks for sharing your adventures
Lake Solano , Putah Creek is loaded with'm
Yup or bacon

3:06 now I know you have seen the same meme as me 😂😂❤️ love watching your videos bro been a very long time supporter
Yay, you had me salivating at your chowder until you added the avocado! 😂 Great video. These mountain fishing videos are becoming my favorites.....but then the ocean fishing are also my favorites. Oh hell, they all are my favorites!
Excellent adventure and the cook looked delicious!
Best crawfish spot I’ve ever been to was Lake Tahoe, my bother an I almost completely filled 2 5gallon buckets and fed our whole family of 10 during our family vacation when we were 12 yrs old, an we used the same bait as you, Bacon! red licorice also works well!!
I wonder what time of year is actually good for that? I've heard Tahoe was good but I always imagined water would be too cold for them lol
Nice, I never thought of making crawfish chowder. That looks good. I’m going to have to try that the next time we catch some! Thanks for the great video!
That chowder looks delicious 😋
Matts. that tiny little creek @ 03:36 is one creek that is worth fishing, each rock will have a big assed trout hiding and hungry, no sun hitting the water, you could fish it any time of day! never overlook little tiny wild creeks, they hold big fish that nobody fishes,,,,
Looking fresh brother. Keep up the good work
Man that creek with the dam that's Basin Creek. I grew up in tuolumne. You bringing back the childhood memories Makin me home sick. I'm gonna cry. Lol😅
bro, fill your pond with them crawdads! it's gonna be a lot of fun for the family once they multiply in your pond! 😁
Crawfish dig holes so it may not be a good idea.
Best thing in the morning is seeing a fisherman’s life post
It's so nice to see a shaved face. Bro lifes been tiring, i can see it in your face. Gotta smile more bro 😊😊😊
McClure and mcswain and don pedro are some of my favorite lakes to fish
I used to live in the modesto area. We would find a small, slow-moving irrigation ditch. We would use a string on a stick with a chicken back tied to it and a net. We would clean up on the crawdads.
The clean cut look looks good on you
Mmm that looks good. Growing up on Cape Cod Mass, we used to dig up clams and make chowdah in a similar way. I also made it at a restaurant. Half-and-half is the key. Personally don't use flour - New Englanders don't like flour in their chowder. I like the corn idea though.
Nice video!! Cool too see ya “ in the Sonora area” lots of places looked familiar 😉😉
As a kid, a stick with a string, a paperclip with a piece of hot dog you can easily catch crayfish, just pull up slow and they won't let go and put them in a bucket.
When I was a kid, we would go down to the local creek with a 5-gallon bucket, some string, beef liver, and a net like yours.
Tie a piece of liver to the string, wait for them to grab on, and slowly pull the string towards you until you can net them.
Very effective!
By the way, that creek is in Marin County. I also know a spot on the Russian River in Cloverdale with a ton of large crawdads. I was snorkeling with a mask on in 2 feet of water where the river is flowing strong, and I ran across a bunch of big crawdads in the current. They are hilarious when they saw me. Immediately they assumed a battle stance!
I was like, that place looks so familiar! That's my home town lake that I go fish at!
The baby faced assassin!!!!!
I live in manteca and I have a very large garden pond ( size of a small swimming pool) which, at one time was loaded with very large bass. Those bass needed to be fed and I found that the farmers irrigation ditches are full of crawdads. I mean LOADED. The water will fluctuate a lot and I found that if you can catch it with little water or even no water, that is best time to collect crawdads. At low water, ankle deep you just walk through the water with a net and get them. Bushes in the water are key holding spots. As the water dries up many of the crawdads concentrate in the remaining pools. Easy pickings! Finally, when the ditch dries up, don't worry as crawdads are survivors and they hide under debris or dig burrows. Just walk the dried (sometimes muddy) ditch. Turn over stuff and/or look for burrows. No net necessary. One word of caution: The farmers use lots of pesticides that drain into these ditches and eating crawdads out of these ditches may be questionable.
I've become a fan of this Channel and not for the reason you think!
I love that almost EVERY VIDEO, there's something that is always "Forgotten"! I wonder what he'll forget next! I sometimes try and guess before I watch, like "Oh I bet he's gonna forget the Butter here in this one" it's kinda like a fun lil game
🛑😳"Looking younger now Billy Ray!" PBS is gonna offer you a job, Bro. These talk-walk-abouts are getting really good with nature and your knowledge. Keep it up💯. Memphis,10🇺🇲
McClure is my backyard stomping grounds. If you go to the Merced River by the fish farm, just a few minutes down stream from MC Swain, you can get some GIANT blue crawfish. But the easiest place to find them in general are in the man made ag canals in the flat lands. The small ones are AWESOME live bait at McClure for bass and cats.
Back in the day we used to tie some bacon on a string and drag it along the bottom of the creek behind my house in Union City .There was soo many crawdads we could fill half a 5 gallon a bucket in like 30 mins
Fisherman’s life fo life
Lots of cray fish around lake tahoe and for sure all the river connected to it got lots of them as well.
Look younger after the shave.
Hey Matts,
Throw in Cricket/Grasshopper to really mix it up! 😂
Ya know, I love ya.
Blessings, honey.
K.T.
Nice video..i enjoyed the show
Like the shaved look, looking fresh man
Get a few crawfish traps and set them in a few different areas. Then, come back for them in a few hours. It's a lot easier and potentially a lot more rewarding.
We used chicken livers to attract crawdads in Niles Creek between Fremont and Niles.
How was the catch?
Cant find a nile's creek, but an alameds creek. Did u mean the later?
You whipped up a nice
chowda🎉.
JO JO IN VT 💞🍁
You look so young!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 nice shave!! 🪒 🎉
man does that food look bomb, nice
Bro Matt, you want to find a spot with the water deep enough to support little baitfish and then lift every rock you can and you’ll find more crawfish than you can catch because they’re fast sometimes when you lift the rock they swim off very fast and you don’t even have a chance to catch them but ideally lift the rocks slowly and they will all stay still looking camouflaged on the bottom
Cool meeting you today. You’ll have to get out late spring for some Monster catfish.
Ah thanks! Going to try through the cave by NB next year. Heard there's some big ones up that way. Nice meeting you too Brandon
That method of taking out the guts is the same way I do it, and you can do it after they're cooked as well!
Hommies doing what I wanted to do waking up
Bro!! You look so different trimmed up! Had to double check I was on the right channel!! 🤣🤣
Crawfish traps work good! Get one!
Nice you’re right in my area
Lake Tahoe, Emerald Bay Area. The lake is full of monsters brother. If you’re on the Nevada side, you don’t need a fishing license for them only thing is you have to keep everything you catch, even the small ones because they are invasive. Can’t release them back. But if you’re looking to do a good crawfish boil catch n cook, that’s the place. Truckee River near Verdi off 80 too. But Tahoe is better.
haha I live right down the road from there and build the pontoons for those "boat houses" at my shop. great video
GREAT VID!
Cool thx❤
He's lookin for crickets today!
your initial thought was when seeing house boats was a bunch of people built houses that just look like boats lmfao amazing holy shit XD
That my favorite fishing spot. Lake Mc Clure is not far from where I live.
Man I fish McClure and mcswain a lot this time of year the trout fishing is so freaking good.
Nice crawfish, hugs from baja. @FishermansLife
The bacon method really works. I was going to mention it until you already had it 😆
Most crawdads i ever caught was about 30lbs in one night at Jackson Meadows Reservoir. Huge brown trout patrol those waters too.
For crawfish you should’ve drove down to Merced. We catch buckets full of them here at a creek and river about 15 minutes from Merced.
I had to go back and check the date , I thought I was watching an old episode, dude you need the beard to look legit haha!
Use to camp at McClure. One place you do not want to be in the summer. Brutal heat. Mid to late October and November are the best months to visit.
You should try mammoth pool next time! Most of the streams there all have crawfish! Giants too!
Brother Matt just hit the fields in sac! I’m sure they’ll let you get a couple rice bags full for you and the family! Them thangs are easy pickings.
Matt is in baby bottle mode. Switching it up, threw me for a sec. Bacon is popular for flounder here in Florida small strips so it flutters like a fish
Bro looks good hell ya
1:49 who else notice the change of shirts lol 😂
Dude look like he just came out of College with that shave. Thought this was an old video for a minute 😅💈✂️
Pro tip: don’t keep live crayfish in a plastic bag of water. Put them in a plastic tote with wet burlap. Layer the crawdads and damp burlap. Put ice in a sealed bag on top of the top layers of burlap. Good cayfishing at South Lake Tahoe and Lake Natomas. Also, Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area in thdd we flooded rice fields. Use a trap though.
OMG 😎
"Too bad it's not hunting season." Wait..... You eat something other than fish?!?!? I call BS... Prove it!
He did a video 5 months ago titled Turkey Hunt. I believe he hunted on his property. He didn't bag one. Think he is new to it.

New subscribers. I like ur video
Down the road in Merced I used to get a half a pickup bed of Dad's in the rice fields the good old days I even had a crawdad feed at a local bar. R P crawdad feed
SET TRAPS FOR DAY AND YOU THROW OUT THE LITTLE ONE'S DUDE!!!! 👌
LOOK AT PHIL'S TRAPS MADE OUT OF WATER BOTTLES OLD VIDEOS 👌🤠
Dewberries are good. They have the large individual balls and Blackberrys are conical and have small balls. I like Dewberries better❤ we have a lot of crawdads/crawlfish here in southeast Tennessee but those bad boys were huge😮
I see you baby face! Great content!
BABE, Feed the baby and walk the dogs tomorrow. Fisherman's life just uploaded!
Better man than me. I also like to leave no trace but I would have straight up left the shallot peels
Wow. 10 years younger!!!!!
2:08 - Who might think it is a poison oak? You can literally see blackberries from a distance. )))
Lots of crawfish in the canals that run thru Bishop Ca. Tons and no limit lol
Theres a place in seattle Washington where they have a few house boats its its own community i like it
Like and enjoy, greetings from germany
That hole looks mighty familiar 🤔 5:27
Boat houses. Need more of those here in Florida.
No such as too many in Oregon, the limit is 100 per person pay day.
13:11 that’s how I usually go about eating crawfish, pull the poop from the middle part of the tail and the go crazy
Hey you should take some of those crawfish and take to Eastman lake. You can catch trophy size bass with crawfish bait.
If your travels ever bring you back up through oregon swing into coos county ill show you some really epic spots on the coast here. I remember years ago you had a video where you came through and only stopped at winchester bay. Cape arago is and port orford are soooo much better. 😁
*points at a blackberry bush*
"This isn't poison oak!"
lol
Looking like a yung boi..Mathew
There is lots of crawfish at clear lake at the lake port dock.
Who are you??? 😂😂😂 nicely done.
Feels great to be here early
I can take you to some secret spots out past Sonora off the same river you were on. Crazy amount of crawfish
You should make a trip to butt lake and make a weekend out of it good fishing and lots of crawfish around the stumps. And lake Almanor is also a good one they are both really close to each other
