My name is Sara welcome to my channel Crochet for Baby. In today's tutorial I will show you how to crochet this newborn Baby boy bean stitch layette set that’s very easy to make. We will start with this simply adorable bean stitch crochet cardigan, sweater, baby jacket, coat or matinee jacket for newborn baby boy from 0-3 months. You can also make this crochet set for girls just make sure you make the button holes in the correct side. Also, If you want to make it for newborn baby just use a 3mm crochet hook with light #3 baby yarn. For 3-6 months by use baby yarn and a 4.5mm crochet hook.
For this crochet baby bean stitch matinee coat tutorial I used lion brand baby yarn in the color little boy blue and white with a 3.5 mm crochet hook. I used about 400 grams of yarn for the whole set and six 12mm size buttons. Please stay tune for all the tutorials related to this newborn crochet baby set which includes the crochet jacket, newborn matching pants, baby hat and baby booties.
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy this crochet baby cardigan tutorial.

Your tutorials are a lifesaver. I can’t follow written directions as well as I used to. I love watching and being able to stop rewind and repeat until it clicks. I also appreciate it when you give stitch counts. It helps so much. Love your work.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful pattern. It is easy to understand and follow. The only trouble I'm facing is the length of the foundation chain, 53 CHAINS measure only 9 inches using 3.5 mms hook, so I changed to size 4.0 mms hook and it still measures about 10 inches.....
Should I increase the number of chains ? If so by how many and how should I calculate it. Please guide me. Thank you and God bless you.
    I am using babywool.

I love all your patterns!! I've made a few different ones. What I was wondering, have you ever done a duel color with the bean stitch & the 2 single crotchet stitch rows?
Just wondering as ive just done a 3 colour 12 star blanket in white, mint green & a variegated yarn that has white, mint green & sky blue, so i was going to make a matching jumper/set to go with it. So I'm thinking of giving it a go with the yolk in the varigated colour and then using the mint green and white down for the bean stitch & single crotchets. What do you think? 😊🇦🇺 i'm from Western Australia.

Hi. First of all, thank you so much for this beautiful pattern. I'm fairly new to crocheting clothes so this is first time I've used the bean stitch.
When I get to end of last row of body (just before starting the band) how many stitches will I have? Mine looks like it is uneven on one side but I don't have enough experience to work out if I've made a mistake. The stich count would help me a lot. Thank you so much x
