Ok so the thing is, is that I only found out about MCR like a few months after the break-up so I kinda feel left out when people talk about going to their concerts and waiting for their new albums. And because of this, I've always dreamt about going to a concert and they reunite for a day and play their own songs. It would be the best day of my life.

Idk, it kind of bugs me when people start hating Gerard Way because of the music he's doing now. If its not for you, then that's understandable. But don't diss it. Bands change. So do singers. Their influence and style changes too.

Gee will always be Gee and yes, we all miss the old Gerard, but I find him no less intriguing and I definitely still find him attractive. Maybe, if we just sit back, relax, and support him, he'll feel stable enough to be in a band again or play some MCR songs. It would be very special if he did.

Yeah none of his solo stuff is nearly as good as what he wrote with My Chem, and the performance at Leeds wasn't as energetic as what he used to do. The songs from his album aren't terrible, they just aren't the best (The music is good, but the lyrics have lost all meaning, especially given how amazingly deep he used to write). I'm sure that the vast majority of his fans are only here because of MCR by this point.
It would hurt too see "MCR" songs being played by just 1/5 of The band. None of the guys should feel like they should or need to play MCR songs during there fucking solo careers.

Dear MCR fans, killjoys, fellow Gerard Way lovers,
If you were a true fan you'd understand the band just didn't go on. I personally do not like his new Britpop kind of genre music, but I do not go commenting on videos whining about how they broke up. I just listen to music and carry on. I am a killjoy- went to a concert whenever I could. I bought their merchandise, found other bands, ect. I actually met Gerard once and got his autograph, so how do you think I feel?
I am hurt and saddened by them breaking up, but I am happy their happy. You guys are so selfish and don't even think about them having families. Gerard has a wife and a beautiful daughter, and Frank has I believe 3 children. Give them a break!
My 12 year old sister actually is more understanding then some of you middle aged man-children. I bawled when they broke up and my sister actually told me that I was selfish for crying and carrying on, but us killjoys need to understand that these glorious attractive MARRIED men, are human.

But why would you feel bad? It's not bc the band broke up that they hate MCR. They're still friends with each other and they love the MCR fans as much as they love the fans who are fan of the things that they're now doing. I think a lot of MCR fans are going to kill me for saying this but I'm proud of them. Yes, the music we got from My Chem was amazing. Yes, Frank, Gee, Mikey and Ray gave us five amazing albums and we got to watch them grow musically. I'm happy that they are doing their own thing, and I'm also sad that I didn't catch the MCR train in time. I'm proud of the guys that made me feel less like a crazy, fuck up, teenager. Hearing the guys come up with their own sound makes me insanely happy. I'm just gonna leave it there.
I think they will at LEAST do a reunion gig after a while. But in my mind I think they will miss MCR and get back together (which soooo many bands have done) I think Gerard would want it to be a complete surprise though. We will see. :)

It just occurred to me how much older Gerard and Frank have gotten. I love them so much, they were the gems of my childhood. But wow. I'm disappointed with the whole affair of new videos and albums but they can do what they want. I haven't gotten over My Chem and I never will.

I just wanna say one thing. Gerard is happy. MCR isn't dead. They live on forever in our hearts. Gerard is continuing to make music and he basically just said he doesn't wanna do an MCR thing again, and I respect that fully. It kinda annoys me when I see people cry about MCR, but I get it. It was sad, and to some people that band was their world, but I think that you can find strength in knowing that they all are still doing art and music, they all are doing what they want and they are HAPPY, and they made us HAPPY with what they did together. I think that if they weren't happy doing it anymore than they should have every right to quit and do something else, because real fans wanna see them happy too. That's all I'm saying. I'm not hating. I just think that if Gerard and the band are all happy, we as fans should be happy too.

The thing with me is, I discovered my chemical romance about a year after they broke up. In videos that I've watched online, their concerts seemed so epic. I only imagine that they were even million times better in person. I've always wanted to go to one of their concerts. That band truly changed my life in ways i can't even explain. This is the reason I want them all to reunite and go on tour together just once more. I'm even proud of each of their individual music they've put out and how far they've all come. So if the reunion ever happens, I would really want them to play some of their own songs.

I'd actually argue that this is the least poppy record he's done. I mean the muddy vocals and shoegaze-y guitars aren't something that are really going to resonate well with a pop audience. I mean think back to all their albums except Bullets. I'm Not Okay was getting airplay on TRL, as was Teenagers on the next record. SING was played a lot on pop radio and even was covered on Glee. They were never a full on pop-band, but they were practically always able to cross over to pop music fans with every major label release. I really don't think Hesitant Alien is going to have a cross over track like that, mainly because what Gerard is doing now is very poppy compared to the stuff he did with MCR.

Whoa I didn't think my one little ole comment would make such a big deal. While I have to agree with you regarding the music and Gerards sound is quite different than what he has done previously, it is really hard for me anyway to move past the band, the chemistry... I mean letting go of anything is hard especially when it was such a huge part of your life. As far as things crossing over to Pop, man I heard The Doors Light My Fire on a car commercial and was blown away... Jim Morrison wohld would have been causing a fit over that... Pop music to me is your typical one day you have a a few hits and then it never really does anything. Do I see that with Gerard, absolutely not, he is an artist by all measures, he is extremely talented and has, as always, and amazing sound. Maybe I just can not accept that MCR is done, so I apologise for any one I upset by my comment.
The Doors were pretty big in the 60s, they weren't this underground thing, therefore I don't think Jim Morrison would had been really too surprised or bothered by that. And there is some really great pop music out there. I really enjoy a lot of independent pop where its more about the craft of making good effective pop music than it is selling pop music.

Ok, I was not there from the beginning of My Chemical Romance, but I can still feel every album, song, lyric and chord they have played. MCR helped me through dark times and phases, their music saved my life more than once and I appreciate everything they have done. I get that I should move on, find other bands and get over it, but the truth is that even if I find another kind of art it will never be the same because My Chemical Romance has that special thing that lives inside all of them that makes it so awesome and unique.
I am really happy knowing about their new life. Reading doom patrol, or listening to parachutes, or to electric century or to Ray's work gives me another perspective and I am really happy for them but I will not deny that I feel a little heart break whenever the G note is played in the piano, I won't say I don't want them back together because I do, I really miss them as a band, and it would be heart breaking for just one of them to play those songs in their new solo careers. So, I love what they are doing with their lives now but that doesn't keeps me from dreaming of them getting back together and making more of those beautiful, touching songs
That wish of them coming back will never die, because remember My Chemical Romance will never die, because it is not a band it's and idea

I love them so much that even if it hurts me that they are not together anymore if they are happy and don't regrets their dicisions they makes that means that it's really what they wanted than i should be happy for them!!! Plus to me they are still together but in my heart
